Nand backup is your friend. I always keep the Rom and the current good radio images on the SD card too, just in case.

I was lucky and shoved it on record on the Sky box when my son told me out was on. -

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. Michael, not sure why it's not downloading the map, was the speed display working? Gav, I would appreciate any testing you can do.

It's easier then an easy thing made easy. Well almost. It's java, so close thought to c# to be easy to pick up and the Android framework exposes a lot of the OS's features. The attached app was fairly simple to put together.

Sorry Rob, not for the iPhone dude.

Am I allowed to recommend mine.. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?248335-HDSpeedo-is-dead-long-live-aGPSpeedo

Ok, since I've ditched the old Windows Mobile phone for a Android phone, just over a year ago now, I've decide to play around with developing for the Android OS. So I've knocked up a little GPS Speedo for Android. Works great on my HTC Desire, but I would like some feedback from other people. Currently it has the following features. Will work in portrate or landscape mode. Has a simple speedo with Units (Can be MPH, KPH or M/S), the speed (Useful I thought), Distance travelled, Max and Ave speed. Google maps display that tracks your position. A HUD mode on the simple speedo display. There are plenty of things I'd like to add. Track logging. Journey logging (Ave, distance etc). Better menu, the Landscape menu is a bit screwed. Have a look at the photos and install the APK file if you'd like to give it a try. Cheers.. Paul.

After our charcoal BBQ went to heaven, one of our friend gave us their old has one. Problem is it needs a deep clean. Apart from lots of elbow grease and 20 brillo pads is their any tricks to make it easier?

Could be good. A little hacking and all roads are 180MPH limits?...

Thanks to whoever signed up with my referral, another 1gb of free space.
-
Ok, looks like I was wrong and you don't get 250MB when a referrer joins.... It's 500MB..
-
If you're using the free option, have a look at Sugarsync. It gives you 5GB for free and the normal 250MB per referral. Has a very nice Android app and there is also one from the iPhone. Going to be cheeky and post up my referral link, so we can both get 250MB space free.. ;-) https://www.sugarsync.com/referral?rc=pfec50dsq59x&utm_source=txemail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=referral?utm_source=txemail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ReferralJoin Home page - https://www.sugarsync.com I think sugarsync suits me more as you can have multiple folders being synced, it's more granular in how you select the data you want backing up.

My Boss's Boss has a nice Tag watch that has stopped working as it has gotten moisture in it. He has sent it off to a Authorised Tag Dealer and they have quoted > £400 to repair it. It is waterproof, but to keep the warranty he should have had it serviced each year for £179. Now this watch is worth around the £600 mark so to a mere mortal like me, that sounds crazy. Is there anywhere is the Kent area that would repair this at a more reasonable rate? Cheers, Paul.

I am trying to setup a secure connection to my network for Remote Desktop connectivity. I am using the following components. freesshd on a windows 2003 server Connectbot Xtralogic Remote Desktop Client. Connectbot connects fine and I can log onto the servers command line. Tunneling is set up as follows. local - 3389 Remote :3389 When I attempted to connect to the local 3389 port from the client, it states it's connecting and then I get the message 'Connection has been reset by peer'. When I go back into Connectbot the SSH session has disconnected. This happens if I'm connecting over 3g or via WiFi (Obviously changing the client address for the Remote/Local addresses). There is nothing in the servers eventlogs, apart from a successfull login in the security one. Just a connect/disconnect in the freesshd logs. Using the RDP Client over WiFi directly it connects flawlessly. I have tried one other Client and I got the same error, does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this? Many Thanks, Paul.

Who will be watching the Royal wedding tomorrow?
MrRalphMan replied to TopgunTT's topic in Off Topic
Nope, got nothing against them and I think we're better off for having a royal heritage, but I'm not bothered about watching it at all.. If the weather is good I'll be down Chessington.. -
When I had this issue I was running AuraxTSense v8.4. I'm now running a Gingerbread Rom (this is on my Desire) - H.D.R (Gingerbread sense with RTL) V1.6 Will have to try it again, but my fav one is the Zombie/Hunter one.
-
I am running a custom Rom, it only happened over night while I was recharging the phone. My phone stays awake when on charge, so it might be something to do with that. I has an issue with another live wallpaper, the zombie/hunter one. It would just go blank until the phone is rebooted.

Jumpgate I really liked this one, but everynight my phone would hang when on charge.

Some little help with trying to reinstall Windows 7...
MrRalphMan replied to MrRalphMan's topic in Off Topic
Hi all, sorry for the late reply but just got back from a week in Turkey. I've used gparted to initialise the disk, format the partitions etc, but I still get the same error. I can install xp fine, just windows 7 not playing ball. Drives seem to be set up ok in the bios, but I'll double check that. The Usb controller it's known not to work with windows 7 64 bit, so I want to install 32 bit. Still something to do tomorrow and hack the mrs off with. -
Ok, I'm tearing what little hair I have left out trying to reinstall windows 7. I have a little AMD powered PC with a FoxConn motherboard, 2GB of memory and a GT6600 graphics card. I've been running windows 7 on it without a hitch for months now, well there is one little hitch, my USB Adaptor that allows me to use PlayStation 2 controllers doesn't work. The machine sees the USB adaptor, but it doesn't see the connected controller(s). This seems to be a common issue with this controller and 64bit Windows 7. All was fine until I decided to try to dual boot with XP, to get the gaming back online for the kids. I had a few issues and managed to resolve them all with /fixmbr, fixboot etc. I then was told that EasyBCD would be able to help, so I used that and that's where it all fell apart. After using it, I got /boot/bcd missing errors. Nothing would fix this. I saw a fix using diskpart and then bootrec. So I fired up diskpart, selected the partition for mu windows 7 installation and chose 'clean' as it said. After that nothing worked. The Windows 7 and another partition were gone off the drive. I attempted a few things, even gparted couldn't see any partitions, just a uninitialized disk. Creating the partitions worked and I was able to install XP on the disk. But attempting to install Win 7 now no longer works. The installer fires up and I can get to the part where you configure the disk to use, but it just states that WIndows cannot be installed onto Disk 0 Partition 1. More info shows that it thinks that the disk is not bootable in the BIOS, where it is. I have three SATA drives. 500GB - OS and Stuff 2x200GB in dynamic disks in windows raid. I saw that they state that sometimes the other disks cause this issue, but even with the 500GB on it's own it still fails. The SATA interface is set up in the BIOS and set to Native IDE, which is what it's always been. I've tried 32 and 64 Bit windows 7, but it's a combined disk so the interface is the same. This installed OK about two weeks ago.. Anyone with any ideas? Cheers, Paul.

Happy Birthday dude.
