    Buying a TT

I think you could get a nice NA for £7k mate, but for that money you could also get a TT, albeit maybe a little older. After owning both, I would plump for a TT any day, just be wary that your insurance will probably go up as will running costs (not by masses though)..... For some reason the Supra market is really slow right now, so you will be able to get yourself a bargain, probably one from this site. There are a couple of TTs for sale now for your budget in the for sale section, so it might be worth checking them out. At least buying from a member will give you a little more confidence as you would hope they have looked after them properly.... Spec wise, I would say your looking at the older end of the market, but specs are so different these days its hard to say. I would personally be looking for a relatively standard car, with as low a mileage as possible, Auto (I just love Auto's), in black or silver...... Not a great deal of help, but there are millions of threads on the subject of buying Soops. Do your research before buying - thats the best tip!! Nick
  3. Alright guys Am I being totally oblivious or does my 98 vvti TT not have an overdrive button? Its a tiptronic, but I still would have thought that it would have an overdrive button like other auto TT's...... Its got an aftermarket gear knob so its not obvious if there was supposed to be one on there or not. Apparently when it came over, it didnt have one on the original gear knob either.... Any one have a clue whats going on? And if it doesnt have an overdrive - how come?? Thanks Nick
  4. Hi Jurgen This is a nice car man. Good luck with the sale.... Nick
  5. aha! Thanks mate - I will look into getting just one from a broker.....
  6. Hey cheers for the reply mate. I will speak to Toyota and see if they can source me a pair..... Nick
  7. Neither did I??? I guess it kind of makes sense to have something covering it to stop all the sh*t from the wheel going in...
  8. Bloody hell Need4Speed, youve got eyes like a sh*thouse rat!! What am I supposed to cover the intercooler up with? Is there something missing? Nick
  9. Nice one David! Thanks for all your help with the deal/car mate - your a legend! Speak to you soon mate Nick
  10. Well guys, Im the new owner of this beauty. Thanks to David for being absolutely amazing with the whole deal. Top guy..... Sad to see the NA go (to fund the deal), although a fellow member has bought it and I am sure will announce himself soon..... Cheers Nick P.S - Twin Turbo power is awesome!! I am still speechless......
  11. Alright Jurgen Put my reply on totally the wrong thread.....but yes, I did.
  12. Get a toad mate. Totally reliable, and my first choice hands down.... Ive got the Ai606 and its the nuts
  13. Hi mate I have the same problem, and have been told that it is the 'anti-roll bar bushes'. I am getting it looked at this weekend, but I had exactly the same symptons on my MR2 as well and it turned out to be the bushes. Not that expensive to replace, which is good news. Will let you know if it turns out to be them. Nick
  14. Alright Smarty That very same white supra bumper extension is from my car. Give me a PM if you need any info.... Cheers Nick
  15. So far all I have done is add some new wheels and a decent head unit. My exhaust is similar to standard except wider bore. Interior wise, I havent really changed anything, but I like the car standard to be honest... Thanks for the tip by the way Ian! Ive heard about Muscrat. Should really try and make it one week. Mondays are always a bad day for me!! Nick
  16. Thats cool. Its good to hear that there is another white soop in the area. I havent seen many of them to be honest, they all seem to be silver!! If you ever see me, flash and I will pull over for a chat! Would be cool to see your soop. Is your car pretty standard? Have you added any mods? Planning to? Nick
  17. hahaha I thought I had the only white one too! I havent seen another one in the area. Have you had yours long? There are at least three silver soops in Winsford. One is my mates, Gaz (aka Silvermachine on this forum). He has a veilside kit on his (exc. rear spoiler). One of the other silver soops has the full veilside kit on it.... Where abouts in winsford are you mate? I live on 'The Fairways', you know off Delemere Street??? Nick
  18. That could be me mate. I live in Winsford (used to live in Northwich). I drive a 96 NA Supra in white with body kit......
  19. Cool, first time I have seen anybody on this site!! (and its only been a year!!!)..... Cheers guys
  20. It wasnt lit up actually, but then again it was light still outside.... I noticed it had them front light covers though (you know that make the front lights look like eyes???), plus a veilside kit and TRD badge on the rear left of the boot.... Nick
  21. N* TRD?? Im 99.9% sure it wasnt an aerotop.....
  22. Who's car is this? Silver.... Really nice car whoever owns it. Was following you for miles on the M6 towards Middlewich in my other car before you blasted away! Nick
  23. Hi Jamie Have you checked the rear brake pads? When low, a metal strip scraps on the disc to remind you to replace the pads - this is the first thing I would check. Is the disc rubbing on the hub? Might be worth taking the wheel off and disc and seeing if there are any 'worn' marks on the hub or disc pointing to some chaffing of some sort... Im sure someone else will offer some other advice. Im far from technical on these issues.... Nick
