  1. Hi Spotted you in Winsford and flashed you (I was in a white Supra).... Nice car by the way. Love the body kit..... I was totally stoked to see another Supra in the area - first for me!! Are you local?? Nick
  2. Hi Briansnail I had a similar problem with my Supra where the light kept appearing. Not too sure if you drive an import, but the problem on mine turned out to be a speedo conversion chip error. A new speedo chip and the light has gone - might be worth thinking about???? Nick
  3. I am also interested in what you used. I read on the back of a T-cut bottle that it should not be used on plastics!! I must have been looking at the wrong stuff..... What exactly did you use for the cleaning mate? Nick
  4. I also suffer from a stiff gearbox when the temperatures are down, although I usually have trouble getting into 1st rather than second.... I was told by Toyota, not to worry about it, and that when the car warmed up it would be okay - sure enough it is, so I dont worry about it.... Maybe I should though reading some of your comments guys! Nick

    My Wheels

Hi Guys I was inspecting my wheels and tyres last night to try and understand what the f**k they are!! My car is a jap import and came over here recently. I am the first owner in the UK, and after reading many threads on here about the number of jap cars with dodgy tyres, etc I thought I better check mine! Anyway, my wheels are aftermarket, and are called 'Erglanz'. The tyres are stamped with 'Kumho Ecsta Supra'. Has anyone heard of these wheels or tyres? Are they any good? Or are they cheap nasty jap things that need replacing? Any suggestions would be great! Cheers Nick
  8. Hi Chris I also need a set of rear brake pads (see post above). How much are you selling them for? Are they a marked improvement over the originals? Thanks Nick
  9. Hi guys My pads are also running out on the rear! Can anyone advise what sort of pads to replace the old ones with? Shall I just use the standard Toyota spec ones or is it worth investing in some 'better' make of pads?? Any difference? Thanks Nick P.S - I own a NA Jap 96 car
  10. Hey no problem womble!! Dont worry about it....
  11. Hi Womble Didnt receive your pictures mate, so I guess they were too big for my hotmail account..... If you can reduce them I would be interested in seeing them though. My bike is currently up for sale at the minute. I havent advertised it anywhere as yet, but plan to over the next few days. I am selling it to fund my racing season next year when I will be racing on a Suzuki SV650. Would love to keep the Duke, but just cant afford both unfortunately!! Nick
  12. Nice bike Jake - have you got this months RIDE magazine (due out any time now). It has a huge section on fireblades going back to the very first model right up to todays 05 beast - would be a good read... A guy at work has a 98 blade - very nice bike you got there! Nick
  13. Hi Mate I currently own a 748S which has had a whole host of updates including a MonsterMon spray job and signiture (Shakey himself). Done by the guy who sprays Shakeys helmets....'Rage' I have tried to attach a picture - hope it works!! Cheers Nick p.s - great prize man!! Unbelievable.....
  14. Hi mate, own a Ducati myself. I saw the Yamaha at this years NEC bike show - looked pretty incredible!! I think they will do well with the new bike when it is released. Certainly has a fair bit of torque!! I would be interested in seeing some photo's mate if possible. Can you send them to: '[email protected]' ?? Thanks Nick
  15. Yeah no problem 'Far'.... Hope it helps anyone else out!
  16. Cheers for that 'Far'...... appreciate it mate. Good idea about posting what happened - lets hope this advice helps out other people. I have only been to court once so this is by no means a definitive explanation of how to 'get away with it'!! I would definately say to always dress smartly. The amount of people I saw in court wearing tracksuits or hooded tops (with the hoods up)!! is unbelievable. Apart from the solicitors I counted only three people including me with a suit on!! There were alot of people in there as well..... Anyway, here is what happened: I arrived at court early, like before it even opened. This gave me some time to climatise to the surroundings of a Magistrates Court, and also get my head together, have a smoke and sort out my tie, suit and hair. I tried very hard to look as smart as possible. As soon as the Ushers came out to sign people in, I was first in the queue, hoping to get priority over everyone else - this turned out not to be the case. It seemed pretty random as to what time you got called in. Basically I waited for 2.5 hours before being called in. I used this time to prepare myself for any amount of questions I was going to be asked. I had no idea what to expect so just got it in my head exactly what happened on the day, and also what questions they may ask. I knew they would ask me if I had anything else to say about the offence so prepared my 'Sorry speech' - see below!! When I was called in I put on my 'Sorry' face!! I looked down to the ground as I approached the stand and at all times spoke with a 'gutted' tone in my voice as if I was saying my last rights - seems over the top, but highlights to the judge how sorry you sound/are. I was told about my case and asked whether I pleaded guilty or not - I said guilty, and was told that this is what I said in the original letter from the Police ("Thank you" was their reply). As the courts read out the coppers statement of what happened, I simply held my head in shame as it was read out, deliberately looking sorry and shameful. When finished I was asked whether I had anything to add to the statement - (this is where you get the chance to say how sorry you are) - this is roughly what I said: "Maam, I would like to add how sorry and dissapointed I am with myself for this offense. I returned from a business trip to Canada and the US two days prior to the offense, and feel that I was still suffering from jet lag and tiredness. Whilst I do not want to use this as an excuse for my actions, I would just like to point it out to try and explain why I was not concentrating as much as I should have been on the morning of the offense, which I am deeply regrettable for. It was totally out of character and I would like to add that I have never been stopped or cautioned by the police in my life. I would also like to add that I had been following a large truck for some time prior to the first set of lights, travelling at a very slow speed, which may possibly help to explain why I had not paid much attention to the traffic signals, as I was obviously not concentrating as much as I should have been. I am deeply sorry for this lack of concentration and accept that my actions could have been far worse had the roads been a little busier"...... After which, I was told to sit down. At this stage the three Magistrates had a chat and told me to stand before saying: "We are at rights to give you a ban for this Mr Potts, or alternatively 9 points for the three offences. However, as you are clearly sorry for the offence, and have a clean record, I would like to give you 3 points, effectively one bad mark for all three signals. I am going to fine you £100 per set of signals though, plus the £35 court costs - how would you like to pay the fine?" Thats it really - the case was over. During the whole thing I deliberatly held my head down and looked bloody miserable. I hasten to add that I didnt get back from a business trip to Canada or the US two days before - that was 2 months before, but hey it worked!! I hope some other people get some tips from this. The courts never asked me once about the car (MR2 Turbo at the time), or about anything else to do with the offence, which surprised me. It only lasted about 10 minutes in total..... Hope this doesnt bore the f**k out of everyone - went on abit here!! sorry..... Nick
  17. Cheers guys!! Think this may be a good week to buy a lottery ticket!!
  18. Jake As far as I know mate, I have been charged with 'Contravening a traffic signal'....... They are simply stating that I have contravened a single set of lights on my license, rather than three separate incidents. Nick
  19. Cheers for the replies guys.... Yeah they said that they could easily give me 9 points for this, but then went on to say that it was obvious how sorry I was, and that my license is clean, etc.... Just goes to show how important it is to be there!! Nick
  20. Well guys, just stepped out of court for the 3 red light offense. I sucked up to them big time and got away with 3 points and a £300 fine (£100 per set of lights).... So much for the ban - I will have to keep the Supra now - big shame!! Seriously though, thanks for all your replies guys. I appreciate all your advice. Nick
  21. Hi Jake The charge for running a red light is 3 points I think mate, at least I hope it is!! Depending on whether or not you are blatently running the lights or the severity of the actions of running the light, may mean that you would get 6 points - again this is only an educated guess!! Nick
  22. Cheers for the advice guys. I just hope on the day that they are in a good mood!! Having said that, first thing Monday morning isnt the best of times!! Anyway, on Monday I will post up what I got!! Thanks for all the replies..... Nick
  23. Cheers Steve - I appreciate your comments mate. I will definately take them into consideration when I am there. I am still currently reading through that site that 'Far' provided. Its makes for facinating reading, especially with regards to speeding offences!! Cheers Nick
  24. Cheers for all the replies guys!! And thanks for that link Far..... The court case is on Monday the 29th, and I have decided to go into court rather than plead gulty by post so that I can try and sway the courts with what actually happened on the day, rather than what the police officer said that happened on his statement - to say he exaggerated is an understatement!! I will post up what happened next week, but thanks for all your concerns. I was driving a battered old MR2 at the time, and not my Supra, so lets hope they dont have any bias towards me being in a fast (ish) car..... Regards Nick
  25. Christ!! I am well and truly in the sh*t....... Guess I better get the Supra in the Exchange and Mart!!!
