long story; short version, i live in a flat in glasgow and my unofficial 'parking area' has been re-claimed by the builders. so after a battle with the misses (supra v her audi tt) where she won, or i prefer to think i conceded, the supe has to go. i just refuse to park the supra on the city streets and can not justify keeping it, ie maintaining fees & storage fees where i won't be able to use it ever. sad days - the car is currently resting on someone else's space but the dreaded neighbours note on the window is only days away! http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=156511

95 Auto UK TT 36k (and sadly for sale!)
  3. doesn't say what to do for the best with 4wd? (front and rear at same time - if you are into that kind of thing.)
  4. i bought it unregistered (never again!!) cost and hurdles are a nightmare and it is not over yet obviously.
  5. i phone them up and they said they can't process the registration documents without an MOT (easy done) and an insurance document for the car. i suppose a motor trader would just add the car to their policy and hence be covered to register it.
  6. i know - frustrating is not the word. the dvla put me on to BIBA who give out details of (coughs) helpful companies like GMI who will do 30 days 3rd party for £280!!! the guy admitted they know it is only so i can get it registered and that the companies like the one he was working for are taking advantage of this.
  7. nope - tried again - must be insured to get registered.
  8. damn dvla, damn insurance company. i am just trying to get a fecking number plate on a car and they make it so difficult. ok here goes. i am looking for one day insurance cover to get a car registered as my insurance company won't allow me to be insured from the chassis number alone. all the one day companies i have spoken to are asking for the registration number of the car. the irony is i won't even be driving the car so there is no risk of any loss! any clues or hints?
  9. raisins are evil - i stopped eating them when they were introduced.
  10. in my experience supras are stolen for kicks not profits. (and modded cars in particular stand out like a sore thumb.) it is also hard enough selling a legit supra never mind a stolen one. the merc and m3s are a different kettle of fish - these are stolen to order as newer faceless cars have a premium. still it is not a nice thing to happen to anyone and despite the vengence rhetoric you were best to chase off the culprits rather than risk injury to yourself.
  11. we talking this kind of thing? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Celica-GT4-ST185-ST205-Convertion_W0QQitemZ180271202355QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180271202355&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318
  12. i think these were optional extras, like the rear sun visor (which i still have the instructions for!)
  13. i sat in one in january in tokyo and to be honest the first thing that stood out inside the car was the plastic look of the interior! much like you would get in their bottom end cars - also the nice japanese lady explained that the skyline name had been re-assigned to a more modest car. here is me in the car with the nice lady:
  14. well no interest here and i see i have competition on a white uk - looks like its off to market
  15. to quote the specials "it's all a load of bollocks" i blame the school, if they did things properly the girl would have agreed not to wear the thing in the first place.
  16. well i bought an mr2 mk3 soft top import and was in the process of getting it sva'd. parked on a drive next to the house when i discovered tonight some sh!t has cut through the soft top at two places with a knife. they never got in. the car has nothing in it anyway (nothing worth stealing) and i had left it with the dash all exposed as i was working on it. also the car has no number plates and has an immobiliser fitted - so why destroy my roof??? uninsured too, damn!

    ooh that's cold!

    snow button

if ever there was a time (of year) that you didn't need to worry about the snow button then this is it! - hot and sunny in glasgow -
  19. so far everyone has mentioned the civil consequences. ie what happens if they crash = no pay outs. there are also criminal consequences as you are not allowed to let someone drive your car uninsured and you (and they too) will be commiting an offence if you do permit this. it is a pain in the neck but unless you have a private road at hand best not to chance it. also not to mention idiots who try to rev your car to destruction, repeatedly slip the clutch and then say "that clutch is on the way out!!" - my recent experience
  20. fecking hell!! i am on with my insurers haggling over my renewal, trying to keep it under £300 -A YEAR! (fully comp business class) god i feel so old but knew there had to be some up side
  21. would this fit in the front end of a supe? only 20k. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C46356?pt=pf
