  1. Usually I get bored of cars after a year or so, but end up keeping them for around 3 years before moving onto something newer/better etc. But I can't see this happening with the Supe!! Sure, there are cars I'd quite like (eg Skyline R34 GTR, Exige, Monaro VXR just a few) but I struggle to see how they will provide a better overall package that the Supra. I've had the car 2 years (and have done Exhaust, wheels, gauges, FMIC, suspension) and would normally be deciding on my next buy, but instead I'm currently getting new Bilsteins, TRD CF wing, possibly RLTC (Lucifer - where's that GB?), and also looking at getting a TRD CF bonnet, maybe new alloys & G&B interior this year!! There's no way I'm thinking of moving on next March. Infact, next year I may even think about going Single... Anyone else find they're keeping the Supe longer than they would normally keep a car?? J

  3. I am ashamed to say that I have purchased this edition of this publication, drawn by the yellow Supra - and the fact I was bored at work!! On the whole this mag is sh?t!! Although I thought the engine mods etc seemed to ring roughly true. Why does noone over here go for large twins? Agree with the comment on the headlight/intake mod and yes, the article was too short. Also a few Supra pics later on at some of the drag events J
  4. That is gorgeous - superb colour (I would say that!!). If I didn't have the Supra, I'd be up for that J
  5. Unfortunately I had to wait in all day Saturday waiting for a new passport to arrive, or I'd have been up there, probably just watching though. Was hoping it would arrive early morning, but nope - 5PM. Whole day wasted!! (at least I can go on holiday now though) seems you had a good day. J
  6. It's the distress flare - I've got one in mine J Hmmm for some reason my computer only had CJs reply when I clicked 'quote'...
  7. Funnily enough I've been thinking this. Just can't find anywhere wide enpugh and empty enough to have a 'play'. I'll keep looking J
  8. I always buy good tyres mate - not worth saving a few quid buying crap rubber. Currently running Michelin Pilot Sport 2 - £150 per tyre!! Am also running the 'Lance' settings from MKIV.com. It was certainly 'entertaining'!! (more rush than brown-trousers) J
  9. There I am calmly turning left onto a dual carriageway when I suddenly find the back end coming all the way round, I tried to correct - far too much, swung the other way then back again, leaving me sliding sideways down the road. Ended up totally side-on to the road Luckily no cars were coming, so was able to straighen up & carry on. Also lucky I didn't hit any lamp posts etc. All because of half an hour of rain leaving slippery shite on the road Some skid pan practice needed (oh, and RLTC!!) J
  10. No I don't, but I know my gauge over-reads (ie at 1.0Bar it actually reads 1.1) and it's a bit off the scale at full boost, running a 1.4 Bar chip, so maybe only hitting 1.3. When it's boosting properly there's no detonation. (not quite at 100% at the mo, but going to Goodwood on Saturday ) J
  11. ‘76 MG Midget 1500 (my Dad wanted one) ‘88 VW Polo Coupe 1.0 (very slooow!) ’94 Ford Escort 1.3 (slow, needed a new engine) ‘00 Ford Puma 1.7 (good fun) ’90 Lancia Delta Integrale 16V (extremely good fun ) ’01 Skoda Octavia vRS (understeering like mad ) ’95 Toyota Supra MkIV TT J
  12. My Integrale has an oil temp gauge as standard. I wait until that reads 60 C before giving it about 0.5Bar and then a minute or so later (next roundabout on ring road) I give it full boost (1.4Bar). I do the same in the Supra assuming the oil is at about the same temp, even though they're different engines, I figure it's probably ok. I accelerate at 0 Bar with OD off (engine pulls more vacuum so less risk of boosting) until the 'markers' set by the Integrale. I don't go on Revs J
  13. Atilla, How much is it per session, and what do you normally have to take with you (MOT, insurance, Helmet?). BTW I am doing a Lancia Track day at Goodwood on Saturday , so could be interested in doing more of this if I get hooked!! J
  14. It's Ok mate, I've had my Sky renewal at £506
  15. Bit of a Sorry Pete (not guilty) Sextons & all over the country. They sell & fit car stereos & alarms. Don't know if you have them in Scotland though. Anywhere who fits alarms should be able to do a test and give you a certificate (if they're approved). Hope you sort it. J
  16. I didn't either mate. Take it to Sextons (I did) and for about £20 they'll do all the checks and give you a certificate. J
  17. Pete, totally agree on 'market value' thing. I was so glad I had the agreed value with Sky. I reckon it's worth the extra. Also Admiral & Co may not replace mods like with like... I'm going to renew with Sky and not even bother ringing around. J
  18. Cheers Kev, typical that I missed the Cribbs meet at the weekend next time... J
  19. Just had my renewal from Sky: £506 plus £35 for Agreed value = £541 All mods declared. Thats down from £630 last year, so a result!! Sky were also very helpful when I was an innocent 3rd party in a rear-end shunt last year and I was very glad of the agreed value or my car may have been written-off. Big thanks to Jae & Scott Jon
  20. Sorry mate, but I've always had this view until the last couple of years. If people don't vote to get these money grabbing bastards out, thinking "what's the point, they'll get in anyway" or "the other lot won't make it any better" then we're forever going to be paying spiralling tax for scroungers who pay nothing into the system to sit at home on their arses spending OUR hard earned money. It's not much, but voting is the only thing we can do to at least try to prevent OLD labour (that's what it will be!!) from keeping their stranglehold on our economy. I for one am f**ked off with Blair & Brown lying to us and charging us for the pleasure!! J
  21. I'm also visiting Parents, but mine are 150 miles away, so won't be able to attend on Sunday have fun all who's going, maybe next time J
  22. Hi mate, I weighed mine when I shipped them. With tyres, I think they were 18kg each for the fronts & 20kg each for the rears, although I used bathroom scales, which I'm not sure were quite 100% correct. pretty heavy J
  23. Sorry SG, wrong end of the stick. I agree that people who need proper 4x4s (I mean Land Rovers etc, not 4x4 cars) should not have to suffer because of the Sloan Ranger brigade who drive their little ones to school in X5's and Cayennes etc. Surely 4x4 doesn't mean cars aswell, although I think 4x4 does raise emissions and lower consumption, but you pay extra tax cause you need more fuel (I know, I've got a Lancia Integrale which gets about 16mpg!!) J
  24. OK so just read on BBC that cars with highest 1% emissions pay £210. My tax is due, buy I've not rceived my renewal from DVLA. Is this a ploy to make me pay the new amount?? Is this effect immediately. Ie if I take my stuff to post office tomorrow and fill out the form rather than wait till they send anything to me, how much do I pay?? I bloody hate that fat twat!!!
  25. The link does not seem towork now , but the text is: "To complement the braking side of their program, Black Diamond introduced a range of stainless steel brake hoses. Black Diamond hoses are made as close to the OE specification as possible and many applications come complete with line locators using high specification hose with stainless steel over braid to hold the strength of the hose. Using Black Diamond braided brake hoses will give you a superbly firm and controllable brake pedal action." There is no text for the Goodrich ones, but it states "SS ends". There are also some with "MS ends". J
