  1. Thanks dude, that's the fella. I'll give that number to ToYota tomorrow cheers J
  2. Good spot there Kev, I'm sure someones been messing with my QWERYT keyboard J
  3. for the A/C Expansion Valve. Apparently this is fitted to the evaporator. None of this means anything to me and the guy at Toyota was unsure what I actually wanted to buy. Can anyone help?? cheers J
  4. What about the 4.0 V8 Soarer Chris Burford has for sale for £2995, unless it's sold. If I didn't have the Supe and was looking for a nice Jap car, I'd definately be interested. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=65912 J
  5. Mate, have a look the FAQ for Ian C's post on the sequential set-up here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35926 There is only one wastegate, on turbo 1. If the wastegate VSV is not working I would expect it to bleed air off from the actuator, thus raising boost. It should be open at low boost so the air just circulates back into the intake system. Too complicated for me... Hope you get it sorted J
  6. Thanks to everyone for all the advice. Was able to get a Vaillant engineer in this morning and he knew exactly what the problem was. A sticking gas valve (apparently loads going at the moment for some reason). All replaced and serviced and my landlord is picking up the tab (£265 - ouch) Hot showers again (rather than kettles to fill up the bath!! ) J
  7. Yes, It was in the Inverness area where we found a storming road across the highland moors. we did it 3 times in total!!! J
  8. I've had a look at the flue outside and all looks OK. I'm going to ask a neighbour if the gas was turned off when I was away, as it's possible that my supply to the boiler has been cut off. I'll have to ring the landlord tomorrow to get it sorted J
  9. Ian, you're absolutely right mate. Gas is something I wouldn't touch, just trying to work out in my mind what the answer may be to aid in getting it sorted quickly. If you find anything out, it would be most helpful. It's baffling why it's suddeny stopped working. I didn't achange it's settings when I went away, apart from not demanding any hot water for a week (often goes 4 days with no problem if I'm away with work) The codes list says that error F28 means the boiler is in 'lock out' mode. cheers J
  10. I know, but thanks for the link. I downloaded 6 pdf's of instructions, installation manuals & fault codes etc, but couldn't find a straight forward answer of what to look for. cheers
  11. Hi Ian, I have gas cooking rings, which work fine. The water pressure is reading 1.2 bar. The flue comes out of the top of the boiler and then bends through 90 degrees and goes out through the wall to outside (about 8 feet up the wall - don't see how it could have been disturbed.) It could be the detection electrode you mention or the gas valve needing adjustment. (is this something I can do?) J
  12. Rather a long shot here...but; I got back this afternoon from a week away, and my boiler was showing an error. It is a "Valliant turbomax 828e" and the error code is F28, which the guide says is due to insufficient gas, an electrical error or to check the air vents. The boiler would have been on, but not kicked in when I was away (no need) and was working fine when I left on Friday last week. I don't see why it's stopped working. Any ideas what to try, before contacting someone to come out? (I've tried pressing the reset button). I'm sure it seems to fire OK (I can hear 'roaring'), but after 10 seconds it cuts out. Cheers J
  13. I went there about 2 1/2 years ago and there were NO cars you could have just driven away in. Every one had the radios hanging out, wires showing etc and looked very messy inside. I could be wrong but it also appeared they were touching up paint work with a spray can. I walked around once & walked away J
  14. Hi Gough mate. Was that you I saw on the Ring Road today about 9am ? J
  15. to green Supra ownership mate. Green certainly is rare (and definately the best colour ). I've only ever seen 1 other at meets, which was Greenpeace's car (now yours it seems) - Very nice facelift Supe!! J
  16. I do like those Viper stripes Si, Hope you do keep them for a bit so I can see them at future events. Certainly changes the look, but that's probably cos you're used to seeing them on a Viper. Gasto - agreed mate, maybe next year! (along with a TVR style flip paint job ) J
  17. I was driving up towards Flton on the Dual Carriageway at about 12:15 when I heard you roar away from the traffic lights by KFC etc, over the roundabout and headed off down Southmead Road. L-Reg I think J
  18. Yellow Bilsteins are matched to the standard J-spec springs. Fitting some J-spec springs should raise it about an inch or so, which may help a lot. J
  19. Hi mate. I had a similar thing last year. A taxi went into the back of me at a set of lights. My insurance co said there was no way he was getting out of anything short of 100% fault as it's his duty to be able to stop. eg if a pedestrian ran out and you did an emergency stop, he should be far enough behind to be able to react and not hit you. I was also pushed 4 or so feet and thought that the damage was not too bad, but when it was taken to Toyota for a quote (and subsequent work) it was about £4k. New bumber, chassis jig, rear impact bars, respray etc etc. I also needed a hire car for 30 days (not cheap). Bloody frustrating not having the car over the summer - missed loads of meets etc. Hope your missus is OK and you get this sorted. J
  20. Nice one Simon, Have a good one dude J
  21. I've just had Bilsteins and J-spec springs fitted. The car has been raised about 1.5 " over the Eibachs which I've removed. In fact I'm sure I've read on here that some people find that Bilsteins raise the car compared to standard shocks, even when refitting with the same springs. Don't know what stiffer springs you may be able to get, as they usually lower the car too, which is not what you want. J
  22. Nice one Martin, Have a good one. Which day's are you there for? J
  23. Hi Ash, That'll be me. that's the second time I've been 'spotted' in 2 years. Do you work there? I was just visiting (good for me as I only live 2 mins from there) J
  24. Hi mate, Did you replace any other bits, or just the dampers & springs? I'm doing mine soon and don't know if I need any other new bits from Toyota to do the job 100%. I've got new top mounts, rubber gaiters & bump stops. Anything else? cheers
