  1. If you're looking to spend £15k uprating the engine incase it blows up, why not just let it blow up and buy another one? much cheaper and if maintained properly probably won't blow up in the first place. I've been BPU for 3 years. No smoking, good and healthy and for road driving is fast enough for me. I can see singles etc pushing 500+ being ideal for the track, but considering the cost, I personally wouldn't do it and Hybrids don't give the extra power to make them worth while / cost effective IMO
  2. Agree. Removing the second CAT while keeping the first in place seems daft. Your're not going to get much extra boost and what you do get will cause the temps to rise too much. I'd replace the first CAT with the decat and keep the second CAT in place if you're worried. Shane - I know what an EBC is mate, just don't know how they work. eg setting different amounts of boost in different gears, RPMs etc. Are you sure you're seeing 0.9Bar on the first turbo - I'd be worried about that.
  3. Don't know much about EBC's mate, but after 0.7Bar you're stressing the first turbo needlessly as it will be running so hot that the extra boost isn't adding any extra power. I'm guessing you've got the first decat, not double at the moment, if you're getting the scond one done on Friday.
  4. Probably right Gaz. When mine started making funny noises then blew up like an F1 engine (white smoke billowing out of the engine) I was worried, but turned out to be the AC pulley belt frying itself. Not sure if the Dyno highlighted a weak spot or not, but I guess you take your chances putting on the rollers to some extent.
  5. I'm guessing Darryl means when both turbos are online. You don't want T1 hitting 0.9Bar. Way out of it's efficiency range and running very hot at that pressure. What mods are doing that? My BPU runs 0.7 on the first turbo
  6. Dyno run says 0.8Bar which I have been told is stock. Surrey RR is reckoned to be very accurate. It's mine too, bought it on Friday. Yes it's a rev 3. Has downpipe and a 14psi actuator spring (standard is 13.5psi) but no other performance mods. Previous owner said he'd always been told by people that it was a very quick, virtually standard car
  7. Oh, and my MR2 Turbo made 225 RWHP on Saturday at stock boost (0.8Bar) - Charlie said it was a very healthy engine I would get that first CAT out and take it fom there as I think a stock TT should be pushing 265 at the wheels.
  8. As a guide, my Auto TT running 1.05Bar made 323 rwhp at Surrey RR last year. Surrey don't apply a conversion to Auto's as it's unreliable.
  9. Thanks to Darryl & Charlie for a good day out. Was pleased with the power and healthy engine results of my new MR2 Turbo. Unfortunately, on the drive up to Newcastle to see my Bro, the AC pump jammed and the belt fried itself in a puff of white smoke. Called the RAC as I don't know these engines, but it seems it only drives the AC pump, which I can't be bothered with sorting out, so it's windows open time Paul's was an animal and I'm pleased Gaz finally had a good Supra experience for once - although my arms ached after holding his bonnet for half an hour LOL
  10. Simon - Why not come along to the Surrey Rolling Road day?
  11. Could it be the Water pump seal leaking?
  12. Cheers mate . Putting the MR2 on the rollers tomorrow at the Surrey RR day, so we'll see what she puts out
  13. No mate. 1990 16V. putting it up for sale now http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=148798&highlight=integrale Needs some TLC on the bodywork. I've had loads of fun from it the last 5 years, but decided I want to try my hand at a few more trackdays and it's too fragile for that, so bought the MR2
  14. Or an Integrale http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=148798&highlight=integrale
  15. Still got Integrale, but definately going to put it up for sale (hint), as 3 cars is just silly. Yes, I bought the MR2 to use on trackdays
  16. Mine doesn't currently have an airbag wheel fitted, so I assumed there's no connection for it. Maybe I'm wrong?
  17. Will be there with Homer in my new MR2
  18. Yeah - shame you won't see it tomorrow Darryl, as I've bought the MR2 and it's currently getting soaking wet in a thunderstorm - hope it clears up for tomorrow, as some ****** has asked me to get up especially early to pick him up for the RR day :D
  19. Hopefully at the next one Steve. Really busy with work at the moment, away most nights of the week and currently have chocka weekends too
  20. Yeah, but my car is pre-facelift, so unfortunately I can't use the airbag function Nevermind, it looks bloody nice
  21. Just been and picked this little baby up (sorry for poor pics, but used camera phone and it was getting dark and starting to rain): She's a 94 Rev 3 GT-S Turbo with 70,000 miles and was imported in Feb 06. No sign of rust and she drives superbly - really direct steering and a healthy virtually unmodified engine, just a downpipe fitted. New clutch and Turbo when imported and cambelt done 6000 miles ago. Has racing pads fitted (squeal a bit) and all the drop-link bushes and ARBs have been done One owner since import and he's a member of the IMOC, folder full of receipts etc and oil changed every 3000 miles with Silkolene Pro-S. Only fault is a bit of wind noise from the driver's window seal. All in all - very happy Shame I'm lending it to my brother while his MGF is in the garage (having engine rebuilt - I told him not to buy one!)
  22. Have a look in Nic's trader section here

    Focus ST 225

Wasn't that a 'feature' that Ford put in the RS so it was quick on a track, but not so good on the road?
  24. jaymdee

    Focus ST 225

I was wondering that. Drove a Saab 93 Aero HOT (210 bhp I think) and I had to hang onto the wheel as it torque steered like mad up the road
