  1. Yep, sorry, not trying to teach you to suck eggs
  2. No chance then. The information (pixels) just aren't there to begin with. You can't see (zoom into) something that's not there. You could double it in size, and it might still look OK-ish, but that's about as far as it'll go.
  3. Look on the bright side buddy - at least you'll be able to get an actual proper 96/97 car this time!!
  4. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=132331
  5. We just talked about this last week. Now where's that thread.. :hmm:
  6. I use photo resize magic (freeware). It works on a entire folders and does good resizing (would that be bicubic then? not sure, but it's the non-jaggie photoshop quality resizing, as opposed to some other methods in some other software).
  7. and VVTi in the 2nd gen by the looks of it. Hmmm. Good for familiarity but bad for fuel economy I suppose.
  8. I'm curious.. does the UK gs300 have the 2jz-ge, or is it a V6?
  9. No worries To be fair, I don't see what's wrong with just buying a regular GS300 since the missus will be the main driver.. It was more about owning a one-off car I suppose.
  10. Thanks Alex. My SMIC is a CW one I bought about six months ago.
  11. Yep, but he has his own board/forum so you could PM on there.
  12. I found it now. At least you got more money for it, and to be honest I don't have the guilt of having spent nearly five grand on a car. Christmas will be much more relaxing now We got the house BTW
  13. bugger. was going to ring you today. How much did it go for?
  14. No I don't, but I like the clicking noise they make.
  15. I was thinking the same question I went over to supras.nl and looked at the online shop but didn't see much Have been considering sending him a mail or pm on his boards.
  16. It does indeed. I don't know how much they usually are, but I've been thinking I'd like a dSLR, even though I rarely use a camera.. I thought them hitting the ~£350 point was news, nevermind ~£200.
  17. Sweet You'll probably get there first! I'm not planning it so much as a spend some money and get a fast car thing, I'm more interested in actually doing it, fitting the stuff etc. I'd like to be in a position where I'm driving a different car and can work on this one as time allows. Takes me about ten minutes to read your posts with that avatar...
  18. Ah, right. Good stuff. I had for some reason thought that Motec map-locking was commonplace. I had heard it was for HKS and thought it was the same for Motec. Cool. Link is something I'm interested in, yep. Found their website before but didn't get too far into it.
  19. The term piggyback surely doesn't refer to whether the OEM ECU is replaced or not, it refers to whether it's a signal-fudger or not. A piggyback ECU would require the fuel/ignition outputs of the OEM ECU to be fed into it. It would then output modified signals based on whatever parameters are set, whereas a standalone ECU would generate the signals all by itself. That's about right isn't it?
  20. Thought so. The pdf should be updated. Me too, but I suppose it is a budget type car
  21. Thanks for the advice. Can a high quality piggyback not still be very good? I am not happy about being locked out of the ECU so Motec would be a non starter, as well as being expensive.
  22. Those are the wire-type that I was thinking of. Apparently another type is a kind of flappy thing, like a potentiometer that is turned by the moving air. I can see this type being restrictive.
  23. Aircon was never optional was it? Our 'Guide to the Supra.pdf' in the tech faq/basic guides section says that the UK car has more of a GT setup, with air con fitted as standard, blah blah.
