It does seem odd to charge value-tax on a tax :hmm:
  3. I think he means he would have considered it, but isn't doing because he needs more space. Price is OK though, car looks OK but looks like it might have had a new front bumper fitted. Maybe it came with one of those fugly Veilsnide things.

The problem is, they are so used to having all this money from us that they couldn't possibly even think about not having it. They couldn't care less about efficiency.

Good idea. We shouldn't accept all the ambulance/fire engine propaganda this time either!
  6. I'm no where near an expert with *nix I'm afraid but I always just mess with the term type and the key code settings on my client (eric's telnet 98) I suppose if it's doing nothing (neither DEL (^?) or BS (^H) ) then maybe the term type is wrong at the other end, so the ^H (or whatever your client is configured to send) is being interpreted, but interpreted into no action. Have you looked at the term type ('set | grep TERM' or thereabouts) and setting it to vt100 or whatever ('export TERM=vt100' in bash) ? Your client is definately configured to send the ^H on these do-nothing-hosts is it? It's not trying to auto-detect the host terminal type and failing, so removing the control char/key code mapping for BS that it sends?
  7. The Supra driver is the murder victim I was talking about, but I understand where you're coming from..
  8. He's also murdered somebody. It's just like these highschool shootings where they turn the gun on themselves. It's not good enough, they need to be punished for a long time so that they regret their actions.
  9. Sweet. That's the one. Thanks Looking for prices on those Asus eeePC's. Seem to remember Medion had them on their online store. thanks a lot.
  10. I don't think it's Mitac. Might be the same M-company who do cheap portable Sat Navs.
  11. I'm having one of those moments. What's the name of that company who rebrands cheap laptops, and also do full desktop systems. It begins with M, and their stuff can be found in places like Aldi and maybe PC World.
  12. Ooops, my mistake. It's Xandros (the other dummies-Linux distribution) that it uses, not Linspire. Sorry
  13. Anyhoo, the Huawii (whatever) E220 things like what Vodafone give out (and T Mobile from what I just read) are supposed to be supported out of the box according to http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=824 It's just like any other modem though, you'd probably need to configure a dial-up connection using whatever front-end is provided (kPPP ? kDial? fsckknows), username "web/web" or whatever your operator requires.
  14. Linux is just the kernel.. the centre of things. Everything else is put together on top to make a 'distribution', i.e. the graphical interface, how it's customised, how you configure things, what's included, etc. It's all somewhat specific to the distribution. Linspire is just another Linux distribution, however this isn't regular run-on-your-pc-Linspire, but I read that Asus had just customised Linspire rather than creating their own distribution from scratch.
  15. Yep. It's such a shame the crook got away without punishment
  16. They run a variant of Linspire I think. Maybe head down that route whlist googling if you have no joy.
  17. Is it one of the Huawei (whatever) things? AFAIK they are supported on Linux, but it's really a case of whether the support has been compiled into the kernel or compiled/provided as modules. Does the eeePc say they're supported? I've been thinking about getting one of these for the kids, but I was waiting for the 4 or 8gb one, and I'd like the larger screen which Asus say isn't going to happen

    Oh dear....

It actually sounds like the site has been hacked:
  19. The bank robber was armed with a gun. I don't think the copper should chance whether the guy was gonna be alive to shoot him or not.
  20. You answered your own question. Torque Active would mean "Torque Sensing", which is what Torsen is short for.
  21. I'm almost certain there isn't an electronically controlled LSD available on the MKIV Supra. The only different stock LSD is the facelift one which uses a different type of gear mechanism.
  22. It'll cost a couple of quid to fix I reckon
  23. My mate's missus is also selling cheap Ugg boots at the moment. hmmm
  24. The annoying thing is, they can make them badly for such a small price that if they were to actually make them properly they'd still be ahead of the competition on price. It'll never happen though.
  25. I'd keep hold of them and sell them to whoever buys the white mk2 Aristo off eBay that needs new turbos (and a whole lot more from when I last spoke to the chap).
