  1. Bax charge you all sort of extras after the goods arrive, i.e. getting the thing off the plane for you, filling out the customs forms for you, and a service fee for them paying the duty for you etc. They integrate these charges into the VAT/duty charges. Used items are subject to duty and VAT. Duty varies on the type of goods, but 30% for combined duty & VAT is a good estimate to work with.
  2. Sounds like they're trying to dupe investors so they can get more money IMO. I'm sure they did see 70mpg when lifting off on a very slight decline, but I doubt the ministry's figures would be anything like.
  3. LOL. One might wonder these things sometimes, but to suggest it as fact and really believe it is something else entirely
  4. http://www.nextautos.com/trident-iceni-diesel-goes-200mph-gets-70-mpg
  5. What, they got lower fuel consumption out of a 6.6L V8 than BMW/VAG/PSA/Honda/etc can get out of a ~2L I4 ? Took a while to find, but the Opel Speedster (is that the same thing?) has a 1.3L Diesel engine.. http://www.forum-auto.com/automobile-pratique/section1/sujet43830.htm
  6. It looks like they have been talking about this thing since 2002, at which time it had a 3.2 V6, then in November 2006 it had a 6.6L GM truck diesel engine (as above I suppose), but only 375hp and 520lb ft, returning 60mpg at 56mph. 8spd autobox apparently is what's creating the economy.
  7. I just saw the front - I see what you mean about Maserati.
  8. Looks very much more like a TVR influenced style to me. I have to take those figures with a huge pinch of salt. Actually, I just don't beleive it. A 6.6-litre V8 turbodiesel engine which produces 550bhp, returning 68mpg at 70mph.. not possible IMO My 2.2 diesel Civic can't do that.
  9. I ordered Domino's pizza via the website, and when it says "additional delivery instructons", I put "Supra & Volvo on driveway." The delivery driver took ages and when he eventually rang our doorbell and realised he'd got the right house, he said "That's not a Supra, it's a Porsche". and at my accountants, when blocking another one of their clients in, the chap asked for the owner of the Porsche to let him out.

The H always means humble IMHO.
  11. I've had this, and I seem to remember it always coincides with severe ssri-like brain shocks. Last time I had it was many years ago, but my mum said she thought I was having a fit (I was lying on the sofa). I remember trying to rock myself side to side to wake up.
  12. You getting rid already?!
  13. A mk3 Supra too. Wonder if it's a 2JZ, 7M, or something totally different?
  14. Sounds to me like he's after a bit more than just a new door. Missus can't sleep at night etc.
  15. Cool. That's my Focal speakers paid for now
  16. Havard runs LPG. It's straightforward on the NA engines, no problem. The turbo cars are more difficult and less often done, but there's a chap who's posted on here but lives on a different forum who has an Aristo turbo (same engine/turbos/ECU(ish) as the Supra TT) which runs 400hp on LPG no problems.
  17. I remember a company who turbo the M3 engine making it up to 500 - 600hp, and they didn't speak well of its reliability when that was done. They suggested frequent rebuilds, so it doesn't sound worthwhile.
  18. Well, the guy on Radio 2 who was there in person seemed rather impressed by whatever he was watching, and I'm pretty sure he said fireworks. That article says : and 2008 synchronised drummers.. that sounds impressive to me too It all sounds pretty good to me. I would hope England would see it as futile to try to "out do" them, and not bother spending stupid amounts of our money on it when it's our turn. I read on here that we're already up to £9.something billion though, so I guess it's too late for that
  19. I saw the interior of one of these for the first time the other day, and it looks great! Shame the outside has dated so much though.
  20. I could probably get the delivery down to £12 for 2 - 3 day service. Pot has PM'd me saying he's having it, just awaiting confirmation of what he actually wants me to do i.e. throw away broken bits. If you're interested do still say so just in case he has a change of heart.
  21. Price reduced to £25. That's £25 for an XP Pro license & code, a 40gb SATA HDD, a Pentium-4 2.8 or 3GHz Processor, a Dell Laptop-type CDROM, and a 256mb DDR stick. Bargain!
  22. £50 ? Any takers? Reckon I could get delivery down to maybe about £12 by doing 2 - 3 day delivery service.
