  1. hello I thought you had no rear number plate, but in fact it was just cunningly very dirty

    Firefox wont load

good tips there. Just take a copy (backup just in case..) of %userprofile%\application data\mozilla\firefox and then re-install. If it cocks up just replace that directory and you've lost nothing... worth a go anyway.
  3. Or if you just want to do a simple backup, just open up tools -> options -> maintenance tab and click 'Store Folder' copy that location into the clipboard and enter it under Start -> Run (to open up that folder). with OE closed, just copy all those files. This is the method I use for transferring OE from an old computer to a new one.
  4. http://www.css-networks.com/omnibook/1.JPG http://www.css-networks.com/omnibook/2.JPG http://www.css-networks.com/omnibook/3.JPG Oh yeah, I only want £150 for it. plus delivery. or collection
  5. I have a cheap laptop which needs to go. It's a HP Omnibook XE3. Pentium-III 850Mhz (not the celeron or AMD duron version). Spec: 14.1" TFT Screen Pentium-III 850Mhz 128mb SDRAM. It won't take the 256mb sticks I have here . Just about to try a BIOS upgrade on that though. 20gb HDD 10/100 Ethernet 56k modem CD-Writer Floppy Drive New-ish battery (old one also provided) 9-pin Serial port The battery was replaced not long ago, and holds a good charge. All cables and a carry case are included. The CDROM drive plays up a bit - it seems it can take a couple of open/closes to get it to recognise a disc, but I'm working on that now. I had hoped to replace the unit with a Toshiba DVD/CDRW drive but the bezel doesn't fit. If you're really not fussy then I could still do that but it'd have a light-grey bezel which looks silly but works well Pictures to follow. One thing to note is that this is a very rubust machine - it has quite a hard-wearing design on the case. It's running Windows 98SE. I have a spare XP Home license on a completely-knackered machine, and could move that across but it'd really work better with XP if it had more RAM.
  6. when you say tracking is fine, do you just mean a regular tracking check as done when tyres are fitted? This means only the toe in/out has been checked, not camber. I don't know if camber could be the cause though
  7. I saw a non-HDTV set with HDMI the other day. It was one of the Sharp 37" Aquos range. The panel resolution was only 960xsomething, but it had HDMI so I presume it would downscale a HD image received through the HDMI connector. It was advertised as "HDTV Compatible". Strange
  8. hmm. something funny seemed to happen to the web server there.. it's up again for now anyway.
  9. Mine definately seems to spool pretty quickly too ( UK no cats) and I've never even been in a J-Spec TT but the way people talk it's like they're worlds apart, and I don't mean particularly biased people. I remember Branners asking the question of whether his UK car was faulty or not (after owning a J-Spec), and Chris Wilson is quite open about his dislike for the uk setup. Oh well. if I had the £200 I'd buy 'em off you myself and keep them in waiting for the day mine go!
  10. look, basically I think they shouldn't have fined her £30. They should have just advised her to wear the seatbelt. I don't think you'd be so bothered then. I guess the £30 makes it seem like they have an ulterior (had to check the spelling on that one) motive.

  15. Some more photos for ya. I was going to write a guide and explain how the solenoid works and why the contacts burn out and what not but you've pretty much covered it SupraLoopy. It's a shame the brass contact-area around the plunger can't be replenished. I used some SC paper on there though. I tried to show how the funky multi-wobbler extension bar just about fitted around, but it was difficult to photograph under there. Don't overtighten those bolts on the back of the solenoid like I did! I was so lucky to be able to hacksaw a slot in there and it screwed out very easily. http://www.css-networks.com/starter/1.jpg http://www.css-networks.com/starter/2.jpg http://www.css-networks.com/starter/3.jpg http://www.css-networks.com/starter/4.jpg http://www.css-networks.com/starter/5.jpg http://www.css-networks.com/starter/6.jpg http://www.css-networks.com/starter/7.jpg http://www.css-networks.com/starter/8.jpg http://www.css-networks.com/starter/9.jpg http://www.css-networks.com/starter/10.jpg
  16. ..but dude.. that's how most of the world works. They won't even let us ingest temporarily mind-altering drugs
  17. I've got Max & Paddy, The Original Peter Kay, and some violent cockney film called Football-something to keep the tart quiet tonight.
  18. I enjoyed "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". it's nothing to do with the comedy series btw.
  19. I tend to make sure people wear their seatbelts too. I'm glad the non-wearer had to pay though and not the driver! Have you seen that advert where the person in the back who isn't wearing the seatbelt causes the person in the front to be killed? Actually, I'm thinking about it now and it should be the driver who got fined, and then in future s/he would make sure the passengers wore their belts. If just the non-wearer got fined, they'd probably just plan on the probability that they're not going to get done for the same thing too frequently, but if there's someone else involved then there're the chance of some persuasion happening.
  20. ..just querying something.. they're not actually "better" than the Jap ceramics, are they? Most people think the ceramics are better because there is quite a noticable difference in low-end torque, but that's not quite my point, saying they're better than the standard ceramics sort of implies that they're suitable to be purchased as an upgrade, but I'm sure I heard that they won't fit a Jap spec without other bits being changed. Do you know if that's correct? Or is it just the manifold that has to be changed?
  21. no worries - it's that link I just posted. Only 3.4mb. http://home.css-networks.com/passware.rar
  22. what a tit I am. http://home.css-networks.com/passware.rar it'll be slow 'cause that's coming from my home dsl. All that wasted bandwidth.. this is the correct one and it's only 3mbs too.
