I had the same trouble. Ian's idea of using the spring compressors whilst the strut is in situ is a good one but I didn't think of that. Instead I just applied great force to the lower arms and forced them down. Also try removing top first rather than bottom first or vice versa - this made quite a difference to the fronts from what I remember,

I'm not homaphobic but I still beleive it's not normal and that's that. You can argue "what's normal", but the whole male & female thing is really quite elementary. We accept peoples differences and that's fine, but when you are bringing a child up, there's also a possible problem of nurture and that basically you'd be risking (?! ) having your children growing up gay. I suppose those gay children can't have more gay children too easily so at least the problem doesn't lend itself to simple propogation, however imagine a future society where every couple are gay and lesbian, and the lesbo daugters shag the other families gay sons as a service so that children can still be had and the human race can continue.

Can anybody help me find online electronic component distributors? I am trying to source laptop DC jacks of various kinds, I've been lucky with some (eBay) and have repaired others but ultimately I need a proper inventory. RS, Farnell, Rapid & Maplin don't have the stuff so I'm looking stateside. I've found Mouser, who seem to be the sort of company I'm looking for, but do people know of others? Whilst looking for flash rom chips, I came across a company called america-something, who seemed to have massive stock, but I've lost the name & url... any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

Ah, yes you are right As it happens, it's been sounding fine since then. I had not used the car for about three days due to hangover, and it had been quite a bit frozen. It's been fine since that first journey. I guess I'll see how it goes..

I see a lot of people recommending removal of the crank damper pulley, which seems strange, but Alex says he just removed the belts which sounds more like it. Guess I'd better get ready to buy a new one anyway.

Bugger. Are you sure? Can't I just loosen the tensioner and remove the belt that way?
