  1. I always thought this Shaken excuse was over used. The shaken is done on any car over THREE years old, not ten. The only difference at 10yrs is that it's done anually instead of every two years So what.. they have to have an MOT done every year at ten years old, instead of every two years. No reason to ditch your car I don't think. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaken_%28Car_Inspection%29
  2. Interesting. I have always felt they were overpriced. What about the Trust one I bought from you - that has some kind of cat-like silencer in the midpipe. Anything interesting about it?
  3. The UK ones don't self-level either. They have an electronic levelling control near the foglight switch. settings 1 - 3 (or 4). The HID autolevelling system is one that automatically levels itself as the road conditions change. I think most people already knew all this (I did anyway ) but basically the way I understood it was that: OEM HIDS are required to have self levelling etc, and it must be working. i.e. on a new Porsche or Range Rover. There are no laws regarding aftermarket HID kits, so this is all irrelevant to us.

Oh yeah, you were working away last time I was there. OK, I'll be sure to get a bucket and sponge out and pop over on the .. second? Monday of February? Santa Pod was a trek!

I finished my Saturday job in November thank f**k. I'm sure I'll see you all there soon enough, just had a lot on lately. February.. why not, sounds good. JAE is a bit of a trek though isn't it. We're going to the FIA main event at Santa Pod in May though, can't wait.

I'm really interested to know how much you got the car for Jezzy. I was toying with the idea of buying it back if it was going to be less than £1,500.

Ooh I missed this. The ashtray was open when I crashed and they all shot forward We're giving up soon and saving for a house deposit
  9. Who me? Long one to explain but I pulled down to first gear and floored it on a bend. Only had the car a month. Jezzy, I've found the thread where you have my car with two other breakers, but not found the comedy cig butts yet
  10. LOL, no. I'm gonna go see now! Hope you weren't upset about the exhaust mounting. I was saying "No I'm not leaving it hanging on with a zip-tie 'cause whoever buys it might be pissed off" but the guys in the yard had other ideas..
  11. Oooh you've got it have you? Yeah I wrote off the left-hand side about 2 - 3 years ago. I'll find the pics now http://www2.css-networks.com/crash/crashed/1.jpg http://www2.css-networks.com/crash/crashed/2.jpg http://www2.css-networks.com/crash/crashed/3.jpg http://www2.css-networks.com/crash/crashed/4.jpg http://www2.css-networks.com/crash/crashed/5.jpg http://www2.css-networks.com/crash/crashed/6.jpg http://www2.css-networks.com/crash/crashed/7.jpg Sorry for the hijack. So have you got the car now Jezzy?
  12. Hardly I think you probably meant formerly. Formally has almost the opposite meaning in this case.
  13. Homer did his check at http://www.bimta.org/MileageChecks.asp I don't think you can doubt that site. I don't think this guy is having anybody on at all really, it all sounds straightforward enough. He is probably a BIMTA member who therefore gets charged £10 for doing a lookup, and makes a tenner on each one. Also, the BIMTA site says Which fits the pattern here..
  14. Do we hell! I'm happy with my 105,000 mile car, but I do find it annoying that there are so many 'low mileage' imports for sale, because in my eyes most of those have been clocked. I don't like to keep going on about it too much because as people have said, they just don't want to hear it.
  15. I'm struggling on the bit I've bold/italic'd above, but are you saying that if they're not torqued-up tight enough, then a bang/kerb mounting like what happened could cause them to fail in the way they did?
  16. I thought it was quite funny. He's blatantly taking the piss.
  17. Make love not Warcraft. Honestly, it's awesome. Watch it.
  18. I can also tell you how to update your existing pirate/vlk/corporate XP Pro to this key so that you don't need to re-install. All above-board.
  19. A buyers PayPal eCheque has just failed to clear, so I have two of these left. Brand new, bought from Micro Direct just the other day. They have the Vista upgrade coupon, but unless I'm misreading the terms and conditions, you will need to find an 'Authorised System Builder' (i.e. a member of the MS System Builder program) who can knock together a fake invoice for a PC else you won't be able to redeem them. £80 including delivery *each*
  20. That pic's tiny. I'll take your word for it
  21. Did you take them out yourself? They aren't just reflectors, they light up red with the rear lights and make the car look more spaceshippy.
