My cars about to go into the mechanics -to swap the starter motor to a second hand one. Anything the mechanic should know before he changes them over- or is it a relatively easy job?

Hi jake- Thanks again for sending it. When I checked the resistance values on the sensor you sent they were not within range so i did not use it. Can have it back if you want?

No silly prices-anyone want to sell me theirs for £30 quid. .....and do me a favour as I have had the my rad blow- crank sensor die- alloy cracked from a pot hole- an ignition fault and ....to top it all off ex girlfrreind stab my tyres coz I left her- total cost £700-in the last month so very skint.

Where is the steam coming from? is ti the cap? or a split somewhere. If you had a split in the rad or the pipes then it would cause your coolant to boil up and bubble. Sounds like you got a leak somewhere. How much coolant have you lost. Check when its cool!!!

OK SORTED- Was a loose crank sensor- bolt had worked it way loose. HAPPY- THANKS for imput folks!

Some of you may have read that I am having problems with my car. No spark at any of the coils Things I have tried- New ignitor- no differnce -Check crank, and camshaft sensors of correct resistance -all fine. No codes stored. SOMETHING I REMEMBERD JUst 2 day before the car died-when i went to fire her up the car would click. like when the batteries dead. BUt only once. almost like the starter motor was sticking. Then I would try again and it would fire up. Check the battery and its not that. AN earth problem maybe. -tried jump leads from negative termanal to earth point but no luck OOWW YE the battery contacts were also a bit lose- You could have wobbled them off? Is the click significant?

My car is not sparking at all. I need some advice- When I unplug the crank sensor- the ECU does not register a fault code. However it registers any other sensor that I unplug e.g. turbo pressure. My car is not producing a spark at the moment- so i check the resistance on the crank sensor and it was within range. so that’s fine. The ignitors fine The problem is that the electrical connector to the crank sensor has no voltage at all when the ignition is on (just before starter cranks) Could this be my problem. The multimeter shows a voltage of 0.02 at the plug. Surely it should be more. All the other sensor that I check all have about 5 v. any advice? hope this is clear.

Hi- I need to check if the ignitor on my UK spec car is working. Is there anyone with a UK spec supra that I can try my ignitor on. Takes 1 min to test. would really appriciate it as the jspec one is diffrerent so would be no good to me. Don't mind travelling with the ignitor to you! Please help.

I think the UK is 896122030 - and the jspec is 896122020- Are they the same????? really need to know- my UK car is not producing any sparks.I have a jspec part on order but will be no good if it is not compatibale. ---Then i will not know if its the Ignitor that the problem. Any UK spec owners around East London that can help?
