  1. Can someone do me a favour- Just need the part number for the ignitor on a Jspec. Its very easy to check- wnat to check if it the same as a UK spec. The ignitor sits on the passenger side of the engine -on the suspension strut. The black box- size of a hand - has 3 plugs going to it---the numbers on the back. can someone just read theirs and post it up here pls many Thanks
  2. So- I have no codes then. What could cause the car from not sparking? Other then a dodgy ignitor.
  3. Does the ECU pick up fault codes when the car does not fire up? E.g when the car is on ignition 2 just before the starter engages? The reason I ask is that the my car does not start- (no spark) Before I had a chance to check for codes the battery went flat from all the cranking i was doing so may have lost the codes stored. Once fully charged should the ECU pick up error codes even if the car does not fire up -- Hope this is clear.
  4. SEE PIC I want to test the ignitor- Can't get hold of a good one at the moment. I have found that the ignitor has resistance across the pins arrowed. 2370 Ohms- the 3 sets from the right in the pic have this reading. What should the reading be? The three pairs from the left have no resistance- Am I right in thinking that all the pins Pairs sould have the same resistance. if so could this be my problem- No sparking at any of the coils
  5. I think my ignitor has packed up- No spark on any of the coils. I used my brothers ignitor from his soarer twin turbo- Looks the same as the supra's but the part number had one digit that was different!!!.-- Anyhow it did not work. supra ignitor 89621-22030 soarer ignitor 89621-22020 Is it likely that the reason it did not work was because the one from the soarer was a different part number? do you think the two ingitors are diferent?
  6. bump- I have a multimeter- anyone know how I can perform a check on the Ignitor-
  7. I did ground it- def no spark. Will check the crank sensor- Thanks
  8. Is that the plug for the Crank sensor. I think its somewhere round there?
  9. Checked for codes. No codes stored- the mil light just flashes continuosly indicating no code.
  10. Thanks - but i am reluctant to think this is the case- as I atually have no spark at the coils. The fuel condition will have no affect on wheather a car sparks or not.
  11. ? anyone know the answer to this?
  12. Yep the fuel pump does prime and all the light illuminate. The battery is fine as i charged it over night. The problem started when I fired her up ran for about a 2 seconds and then cut out. No more spark. I will see if I can check the sensors with an ohmeter (sp) I have no spark on any of the plugs- It could be the following- 1) crank sensor (no code stored 2) Camshaft sensor x2 (no code stored) -would this cause a total lost of spark? 3) Ignitor (if the ignitor packs up it is not registered by the ECU so I am thinking this might be the problem HELP!

  14. Anyone got one- Twin turbo
  15. Can someone please explain to me how to check the voltage to the ignitor- what pins etc. And also how to check the ignitor itself. I know I need a mulitmeter and will pick one up tonight. My car has no spark on any of the coils http://www.the-ecu-doctor.co.uk/Toyota%20Supra%20Igniter.jpg
  16. So it can be two things- Crank sensor or Ignitor pack- is there anything else I should check? Just a thought can the ECU detect a failed crank sensor while the car does not fire up if you see what I mean. When does the ecu pick up faults? can it detect it while on ignition 2 setting just before the starter kicks in - I have no codes stored.
  17. Thanks- is it a pain in the arse to get to?
