  1. This one looks a good price too, if the milage is not too high that is? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1417547.htm
  2. I hear there is going to be a hose pipe ban soon!??
  3. I had the displeasure of dining with the named person once....what a boring pompous ass, totally up himself! As for being the stig, iam sure any of us could/would drive like that for a bunch of cash....not unless you are an N/A owner of course ;-)
  4. really like the dash job you have done there...did you do a thread on it? Free bumpski:)
  5. 1st one 2nd one how about this...??
  6. Hi ya and welcome:) lovely looking supe you have there! Iam going through the immigration process at the mo here and should be in Oz next year....we are looking at Perth, i've done the calculations on shipping mine and it seemed to be better to sell here and buy another out there. I cant wait to live in some sun:)
  7. This might sound odd but try tighten them a little before you undo them ....it sometimes helps to crack em off first.
  8. what size RR is it and does it have a thread collar welded on for the o2 sensor.
  9. Go for the 1.6 petrol or the 1.8 tdci if you can afford it...I've been working on these for as long as they have been out and they are a brilliant car to own. Ghia or zetec spec on the older models are really smart... Iam also on the look out for one too, as i need to update my daily driver.
  10. valve clearances could be too tight(they close up over time)the valves rise up slightly into the head, closing the valve clearance gap...this was quite a common fault years ago. Should be part of every major service but most people dont check them!! Just a case of re-shimming the tappets, quite an easy job if your in the know.
  11. Thats so nice to see....defo a keeper! This what my missus got me http://www2.mercedes-benz.co.uk/content/unitedkingdom/mpc/mpc_unitedkingdom_website/en/home_mpc/MBWorldBrooklands/home/driving_experiences/drivingexperiences/driving_experiences/performance.html doing it on monday :-)
  12. Yes you are probably right with that, however i was just giving him some original figures and did state that these will vary from car to car. I would have to be a genius to exactly know what his true bhp is:rolleyes: Sorry if it sound like iam having a go...just making my point clear, Happy xmas:)
  13. 220 bhp at the flywheel and i would add 8-10 bhp for the exhaust at a guess, these figures will vary from car to car. As people have said going to a Twin/big single would be you best bet to getting proper power. But you still can have plenty of fun in an N/A and without being embarrassed by other cars.

Cheers for the replies chaps. Iam not going to multi quote otherwise i will be here all day.... but good to know its worth having just incase i ever get caught out. I've used it in the wet a couple of times and like you say the car has about a quarter of its normal power, bit like an N/A really;). now wait for the replies:D:D:hide:
  15. In about 1hrs time "wahooooo", just intime to pick up the mother inlaw for xmas...."doh" enjoy everyone!
