  1. I felt a bit left out and so here goes: 1. Drive to Austec and meet dude 2. Leave my car there 3. Pick up the fully prepared, single turbo Supra with approximately 800bhp 4. Drive off in the Supra That is all
  2. Since I had my good news regarding my illness I have decided to take an extended trip back to Kos and now need a cheap laptop as my PC system is back here with me in the UK. I am only looking for something that will allow me to connect to the interwebnet and send emails etc. If it has office installed then so much the better but that's not a necessity. The big necessity is the need to be cheap and have a VGA output. Does anyone have anything suitable please?
  3. Wow - I didn't know about Henry. Congratulations to you both! I think the last time I saw you and the family was just before I left for Kos when we met at a pub. It will be great to catch up again. Just about to send you a PM too as I have had great news re. a major car event and need some advice.
  4. Well done that man. Everyone should have a goal in life - good luck.
  5. I will definitely be there my friend. My chemo has now finished and whilst I still get very tired late afternoon, I still have enough energy to do lots during the day - just ask those who came to the day at Austec. Plus this type of thing gives me a sense of purpose and the opportunity to look forward to future events - even if the time scale on my future is a little vague. TBH, I need these events far more than they need me
  6. I have spoken to DynoDaze at Hinkley in Leicestershire and they are up for setting up a day. @SteveR - To generate interest, I will post up on MR2OC and IMOC for the MR2 crowd and obviously on here too. If the dyno can handle 4WD then I can get a few mates to post up on the other forums too plus I have friends (yes, that's a shock eh) that can post on Aristo, Soarer and other sites. Once a date is confirmed, Macmillan then send out press releases to the local papers and contact local radio stations asking them to give the event a bit of exposure. There is no guarantee they will but they do try. They will also send along volunteers on the day with buckets, leaflets etc. After the event, I ask people who have taken pics and video to send them to me so I can publish them on the car sites and Macmillan also put them in press releases and on their site and FB sites. If you need any other info just give me a shout.
  7. Have a look over at avforums.com They are a bit techy in parts but give some great advice too.
  8. Austec / Macmillan charged just £20 for a single power run.
  9. Just started to chat to a dyno operator from Leicestershire about holding a dyno day for Supra's and MR2's. I will post up more details when I get the final figures and see how much interest there is.
  10. I'm fancying an all white bay for MAC 1
  11. Nice one Steve Let me know if you want me to do anything.
  12. Do you know of anywhere in your region that might be suitable Steve? If so, how do you want to play this?
  13. I got home too late and missed it. Care to summarise in more detail?
  14. Nice one Jim. A reply on the thread here was what I meant TBH. No matter, lets see if we can organise something anway. Even if the charity thing doesn't earn much it is a great way to get to meet others
  15. Hiya folks - sorry for the delay but I was waiting for a response to the PM's I sent to all the event mods but I am yet to receive a single reply. I would have thought a polite thanks but no thanks would not have been too much to ask but hey ho - lets see if we can get things started anyway. OK, so the way I see it is that we need to organise events on a regional basis and for that I need the local members help. I say this as I don't have local knowledge but will offer any assistance I can in writing to the the dyno operators or drafting letters for you to write etc. The way I see this working is similar to what we did at Austec. We can look at getting a dyno operator to open on a Saturday or Sunday and offer discounted power runs on the day. In Austecs case they then donated all the money taken to the charity but even if we could get a dyno operator to offer 50 / 50 then providing the number of attendees are OK it could still work out OK. I think we would need to offer it to other forums too but I cannot see that being an issue. I also think that we could organise another raffle event but this time only for people attending with prizes being donated by Macmillan and other companies I can approach on their behalf. So, what do you lot think? Do you know of a dyno operator in your area that could be approached? What do you think is the best way forward? Do you want to chat to your local members and see if there is interest?
  16. I'm assuming your pc must have a problem in not being able to access Google and so here you go: http://lancerregister.com/showthread.php?p=4376098
  17. Now that it is after 12.00 noon and Aprils fools jokes should have been retracted, I wish you both hearty congratulations and best wishes.
  18. I will leave all that type of thing to my personal valet - aka dude
  19. It would seem from robzkis and hecklers response that the only one not making sense is you. My question was simple enough but you never fully answered.
