Just been speaking with Michael (Muckyman) about his recent importing experience, pricing and how well he would recommend JM-Imports (he gave them a glowing reference which helps). I may actually go back to looking to import, with perhaps looking towards a very very clean Auto rather than stretching my 25K budget to a good manual. Really appreciate all of the input so far, my experience of this forum so far is that you are second to none! -

Either way, I've already stated where I stand on the vehicle with him as it's just not for me, it was more to state to others here who may be looking that the car is still up for sale, and here is a bit more of an insight into it for anyone looking It does sound belt related doesn't it, glad to see all of your input had backed up my stance on the car! Cheers guys, hope you're all settling in well for a good Christmas! -

Had an email today from Andy, there is a couple of people interested in his Supra; the following is a link to a few more pics and videos of the vehicle. https://spaces.hightail.com/receive/3QSU5YZy2C/Y3Jvc3N5XzE1QGhvdG1haWwuY29t It looks clean from the outside, interior and sills etc. No rust visible, although to me the engine just doesn't sound right. Bare in mind I don't own a Supra yet so you guys will have more of an idea than I will on what you're hearing. As I've previously stated I'm not really interested in this one, I'm hoping to view another one as soon as my free weekends line up with theirs -

By the sounds of it, I'd imagine it has been garaged on and off, used a reasonable amount weekly. Not entirely sure on the rest; it just isn't for me so I haven't asked more about it since being put off the viewing. Still going to continue my search and patience looking for one via forum etc -

Had a message from Andy who is selling the red Supra via eBay; the person who he had view it today tried to knock him down on his price of £13K, so the car is still there for sale if anyone is interested in it! -
It's builds beginning like this that tempt me towards getting an NA and doing all the engine transplant and paintwork etc as a build rather than continuing the hunt for a clean TT! Looks great, and looks like it'll be enjoyable once you can begin getting those parts in and on! Good luck with the whole build

I have been keeping an eye on your thread since we last spoke mate, was waiting until you had it back after doing the seals. I absolutely love the look of it, and you clearly look after the vehicle to a high standard, but it was the mileage that has kept me from asking to view it, as I would use it every week I'd have a nagging thought in the back of my head that I'll hit that 200,000 mark. I have a couple I was going to view soon that are reasonably close to eachother, so if I'm heading your direction in the next month I may ask to view it if that is ok with you? Good luck with the sale either way -

There was mention of a worn bearing on the MOT History that looks like it hadn't been attended to over the last 3/4 years. I did offer to make a midweek journey up in the evening but he seems to want to shift it. I'll keep in touch with him until it's sold, maybe I'll view it if it's not gone by the weekend even if it means bidding on it. Otherwise I'll likely pursue my course of patience via this forum and elsewhere as I have been offered a surprising amount of cars already, a few I plan to view and am interested in too. His asking price was £13K. I genuinely believe that to be a good price either way, but I'd be happier putting that money towards an example I've spoken about with someone on here -

It is yes! The guy has been let down on 3 occasions. Said it sold for $25K, $23.8K and $24K but in every instance the winner was unreachable or decided they no longer wanted it -

Thanks for that Rider, I appreciate you keeping an eye out for me; I've actually been in contact with the guy for 48 hours, he's an elder gentleman named Andy, nice bloke having spoken to him on the phone. I was supposed to view the car today at 4pm, however the snow was just too much for me to contemplate going. He was still very keen on me going up there and viewing and test driving it, to which I wasn't too sure about in all honesty. He's having a viewer to see it tomorrow now as I couldn't make today, and if it's not the right car for that viewer then he will be asking me to view it at the weekend I believe. He wants a reasonable price for it, which I would have paid, but he seems in a rush for people to view it considering he can't let it go until the plate has been changed over via DVLA. Hoping it works out for him either way, he seems very genuine and I imagine it's a good car by the sounds of what he told me about it -

ST205 GT4 is officialy up for sale this weekend So I'll be looking at viewing some of the cars I've been offered to view; also keeping my options open if anyone else has anything they would part with. Happy to spend on an Auto or a Manual, just want something that's clean as possible underneath and has been well maintained, happy to do other work it may need to it! -
Just got my Supra from Thailand and my other 2JZGTE SWAP

I've just about had enough of working as a Power Engineer want to hire me Jokes aside, the cars you pass through look amazing! -
Anyone seen this posted on ebay? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F112673663932 Not exactly what I've been looking for, but just imagine the look on neighbours face when your wing overhangs their driveway

Or me, in no rush though! I selected the option about 3 weeks ago, and became a member about 4-5 weeks ago

Made for a very interesting read, I'm also very sorry for your family's loss. Glad to see it went to someone he had actually met, and what should be a good home considering his line of work, both good signs for the upkeep of the car now it's in new hands. It definitely highlights what is a strange market right now! -
Oh you went and did it didn't you... I've no hate for things listed on ebay, just had bad experience myself so far, the one car I bought through their had more deep lying unobvious problems than I could have imagined; that and when I was viewing GT4s I viewed about 6 off eBay and they were nothing like the ads
-
Have seen that today, not entirely sure I trust buying through eBay regardless of how much of a good project it could be, bad experiences in the past! Sounds like it's had a strange set up process so far aswell, think I'll keep to my aim unless I get the itch for another big project
-
I had a feeling it may progress this way at some stage I did state please bare with me, and that i knew it had been asked before but this was to the smaller audience who had driven both I've actually been more inclined to buy one via this thread for the very reason that you're all comfortable in your own opinions to have a laugh, regardless of your personal opinion, and because a lot of you seem to know eachother and the cars so well. It's pushing me this way rather than an import simply because of the build threads for some as well. I think I'm edging towards an Auto, so that I can run an MR2 MK2 alongside it as a track car if I do sell my ST205, but also because it leaves me more budget to sort potential issues and put my own personal taste into the car, I don't want to be left waiting on income to have to fix or replace parts. I'm also happy with 450BHP tops through the auto until I want to start upgrading major performance parts, if I decide I want to push that route. That being said, I've already been offered 2 borderline immaculate TT6s at the top of my budget, and 2 that potentially need a little work at less price. I'm just hoping to see a few sell soon so that I know that the current asking price is a match for the true valuation

Within all the banter I've definitely learnt a few things I really appreciate that JimJam, I do have friends over that side of the country that I see now and again, so I may drop you a message sometime if I'm over that way. That is a main persuasion point for me though, if I get an auto, I can keep my ST205 or even return to owning an MR2 MK2, and I do miss my old one.

Out of interest, is it possible with all these gearbox upgrades nowadays to actually upgrade to a different autobox that will have an emphasis on speed and faster changes?

Have PM'd a few people on here who have stated there's could be available, and they all understand I'm only looking around prices of what's available at the moment, still open to options if people decide they could part ways I did consider sending him a PM, however I'm not a fan of Silver in general, looking more at Anthracite Greys, Reds, Blacks and Blues, or even something a bit more out there -

Genuinely open to whether it is Auto or Manual currently after much consideration, the only thing I'm hoping for is that the car is very well looked after and clean underneath. Im happy to do bits of work of course as long as I know what it needs
