Hi Wendy and I went last September to Holiday Island (Dhifushi?) http://www.cosmos-holidays.co.uk/destinations/Maldives/Maldives-Atolls/South-Ari-Atoll/Holiday-Island-Resort-and-Spa through direct line hols, package was with Cosmos and is a little cheaper direct from Cosmos. This included sea plane transfers, great fun, and half board. The island is very nice and quite undeveloped, nothing on it except the hotel, food was good. Snorkelling was pure magic, we went every day sometimes twice. very hot oh andwe did manage to swim with turles right in the lagoon!! There are many options to Maldives but this is the one we did. When it happens its really horrible to see all the relatives etc, and cant even think what it was like on board. Have had many sacary flights myself and well remember one in particular. We were with my 2 little ones coming back from Singapore in 747 and it kicked hell out of it for a very llong time after takeoff scary thing was it wasnt climbing but looking for a way up and around the storm, engines constantly chaging pitch.
