  1. Aftenoon lads, Have eventually got the first knocking noise I have ever had on this car haha, had to happen at some point. It isn't all the time and happens usually on the motorway at about 60-90 (in Mexico ofcourse haha). I havn't been able to have a look yet, but it sounds like the drivetrain? What could it be? It also isn't that loud in the way that you can hear it, as opposed you being able to feel it through the floor. I have a feeling like it almost feels a brake pad binding, but not sure. If anyone has had this sort of problem before please shout, if not then any suggestions very appreciated :) :) (It is an auto single converted from twin) Cheers, Tom
  2. Does a 255lph pump really go above 500bhp? As the past thing I want to do it buy one and me to run out of pump on the dyno when getting tuned.
  3. I'm probaby going to sound very dense haha...I have done all work on cars, apart from boxes...what is a hybrid box, and a "hi-stall" ... I allready have an aftermarket oil cooler (as the rad is aftermarket) but not sure if it is large enough, so will probs look at getting another as well.
  4. Pretty much says it in the title haha. I have converted to single turbo (from twin turbo) and am installing the ecu and injectors very soon... However I am in need of information on what the twin turbo auto gearbor will take horsepower wise (at the crank) In stock form. I am shooting over 500bhp, hopefully between that and 550bhp...has anyone got an auto running that power on single? How reliable has it been? How many boxes have you been through? What is a reliable bhp figure to run it at? What would be it's max power to run it at, even though it would be unreliable? Cheers, Tom
  5. Brilliant, cheers lads, is exactly what I wanted to hear :) :)
  6. Nah but in all seriousnes guys, sounds like a very juvenile question, but still. My car is going for the ecu and tuning for the single conversion from twin...is a bee r limiter needed for it to pop and bang/flame, or can it just be programmed in the map? Cheers, Tom
  7. Is the 340ph one I have now too much then? Can you have too much pump? I was always told that 255lph is no where near enough flow at 550bhp ish ... have I been told incorrect info? Cheers guys
  8. Hi, almost finishing my single from twin build. I have a 340ph pump sat waiting to go in... The question is, is it big enough lph for around 550bhp? Or do I need to go for 400lph or 450lph? Also is Kemso a good brand, or is it just worth only going for walbro? Cheers, Tom
  9. Have almost finished my build (going for 550bhp). Have ordered a custom Turbonetics, cost 850...amazing quality, don't see why there's a bit of a price difference between turbonetics and precision/garrett....ring up the suplier in England (found on ebay) .... they make the turbo sizes for you and what your power goals are
  10. Hi guys, Have a single turbo mk4 originally a twin (auto) Making around 525bhp. What oil is suitable guys? Cheers, Tom
  11. Cheers guys has helped alot :) I now understand :) Glad I asked now, otherwise i'de be driving around with two returns haha
  12. Ahh right I have plumbed it all in to the two bottom ones and the lines are getting hot as if there's water going to them, hmm... On the diagram it says the top rubber hose to the rad is flowing from the engine to the rad...how is that not a return? And the hose at the front at the bottom is coming from the bottom hose that says it's coming into the engine (also attached to the water pump) so how can that be a return and not a feed? Have had a long close look at the diagram, i can now see that the feed is the elbow...... But still don"t understand why the feed for the water cooling for the turbos is after it has been round the engine (so the water is hot) before it goes into the turbos??? Is that not very odd? Correct me if I'm wrong, thought it would be after it has been through the rad? What is the size/threads sizes for the elbow so I can get a adaptor fitting made up so I don't have to drain all the coolant that I just put in today haha :')
  13. Hmm not really bud, have seen it, the only thing it shows similar to my setup is that he has blocked off the pipe that I am using for my return :/. Still not sure
  14. Hi guys I am going from a single turbo to a bigger single turbo with the addition of water lines (the turbonetics tnx I ordered just happens to have it) My question is, or worry is that the water lines that I am using might either be both feeds or both returns, and am asking if someone could 100% tell me that the lines I am using is one feed and one return The feed? I am using is from the stock twins, which is a rubber hose about 10mm dia coming from the water pump. The return? I am using is coming from the collection of rubber pipes at the very back of the engine. I believe the rubber pipe was blanked off when converted to single. If someone could give me a definately answer then I would be very appreciative Cheers
  15. Pretty certain there isn't det damage as the engine runs beautifully...so will see how it runs when i'very changed the turbo next week, and will reply about it again then... Cheers guys
  16. It's a cheap and nasty Chinese 70ish mm turbo.... I have a new 82mm duel bb turbonetics turbo coming next week, am just using the crappy one (from previous owner) as a basis to see what it's running at... I have a 400lph fuel pump and 650cc injectors with an aem fic 8 piggyback going in very soon, but am at a loss at why it's reading that rich at 18 psi on a 70mm turbo... My best friend has a 92mm on his auto (originally twin) and is having the exact same thing with the same aem wideband....and that thing must be wacking out a huge amount of flow at 1.4bar. (I'm not boosting the car ever apart from getting that reading, so I obviously don't detonate the motor...before anyone says why have you not changed the ecu haha) The only thing I can think of is the (external) waste gate isn't working right with the greddy bc, as it feels only around 300bhp. Who knows, any help would be extremely appreciated haha. Cheers
  17. 18psi shown on a greddy professional boost controller. Is going right down to around 10/11 under boost. It also jumps around a he'll of a lot when driving normally aswell :/ - - - Updated - - - Profec*
  18. Hi guys, Have just installed an aem afr wideband sensor anf gauge....one of the many needed upgrades for a single turbo conversion. The car is already single converted (from previous owner) and I am installing a Ecu ect. Soon....however, on the stock ecu, the gauge is saying that it is running rich when under a bit of boost, and never leans our apart from letting off the throttle.. Is the gauge working correctly as surely it should be leaning out like he'll with a single turbo and a stock ecu? Cheers, Tom
  19. Hi guys. I am undergoing a turbo change (single to single) However I didn't convert the car to single in the first place. The question is, the current single turbo is just oil cooled and the new one I am getting (tnx turbonetics) is water and oil....is it a pain to get the water lines sorted, or is it just a case of using the previous existing ones from when it was a twin turbo? If this is the case what is the best way of doing it? As in what piping etc etc and sizes. Cheers, Tom
  20. I had a look at the instructions last night, looks ok to do... Have just asked Lee P if it's still for sale However I'm trying my best to find a mapper/tuner around where I live...at the moment it's not looking great. Thanks for the on going help
  21. Hi guys I'm having real trouble to find any tuning company where I live that will touch a supra...especially a turbo auto. I'm looking for a supra and or jap car specialist preferably, that has installed and tuned aem (or otherbrand as i haven't bought the ecu yet) piggybacks. I live in the Cheltenham area, and am willing to drive within reason for a good tuner... If anyone has any ideas that would be insanely helpful as I only have one person that wants to do it, and even he/his company doesn't sound that keen because of what it is. Many thanks :)
  22. I'm confident with wiring...just really don't want to mess the ecu up haha. Do you know where I can get hold of an aem fic 8 in the uk? My email is [email protected] Don't know if it is too big to send via email Cheers
