kept with the stock VVTi cams ( for the low end torque) & the HKS v-pro can handle the change to a T67 if required. It will obviously be a lot cheaper to have the T61 Re-built.

Well, after 3 years & near on 40k miles, my turbo decided it's had enough. big cloud of smoke, bye bye:bang:. The question is.....do I keep with the T61 or go for a T67. I do like the early spool of the T61, but, it's allways tempting to have that little bit more:innocent:, so.....your thoughts folks? John

two other signs of HGF in these are;- 1. over pressurised top radiator hose ( you should be able to depress the hose 1/2- 3/4 inch easily when hot) 2.oil emulsion ( mayonnaise) under oil filler cap & cam covers Check the condition of the radiator......a lot are rusted through by now

Hi Mike, I'm suprised that you think the pedal was heavy. I thought terry had the master cylinder bored out with a larger piston to make the pedal pressure lighter. With regard to your flywheel, for 40Kmiles that's not too bad..... you should have seen my first 6 puck after 10K, the pads had worn a 1/4 inch deep groove in the flywheel. In my experience, most of the problems with RPS clutches come when the release bearing & carrier are worn & not replaced at the same time as the new clutch. Have you asked Matt Harwood what his southbend was like? John

Dude used to tow a bloody Great trailer....... so did I on my U.K spec. When you have kids & loads of crap to take on holiday, a small trailer makes life a lot easier & the towbar is detatchable......horses for courses mate:innocent:

The correct 8L5 rsp paint has two types of pearl in the mix, that's where the unique colour comes from. Ask Gerald at G&N coachworks, they've done mine enough times & allways get it right Get it wrong..it just looks blue

this brings back memories we once built a '7' with a cossie bdg lump....pushed out around 240 bhp, boy did that go[sHOCK][/sHOCK]. when caterham brought out the JPS special, it was running the vauxhall 1800 engine, powerband was 6k-9k 260ish bhp.....insane

Did you replace the bearing carrier, if it is worn the bearing does not sit straight & it can produces noise & have engagement problems john edit ....If you get the car on a ramp, remove the inspection cover on the bellhousing, with some one lightly pressing down on the cultch you 'should be able to see if the bearing is approaching the clutch fingers 'square on'
