  1. My 95 RZ came with factory recaro seats. They were in horrible condition so got rid of them. I now acquired stock cloth seats. As I was in the process of installing, I found that this Supra does not have a plug to make the electric slider work. I have attached a photo comparing to my other Supra, which does have this factory plug. I don't want to get into a hassle of getting a loom, pulling the carpet and all that. For this seat on the white plug, I noticed there is just 2 wires running to it. If I cut those, and splice some wires and run those to some electric source, would that possibly work? Just trying to see what my options are but this is particularly what I'd like to do. Just looking for suggestions or advice how I can do this. it only has the plug for seat-belt other supra
  2. That may work to have the seats positioned for me to drive the car.. but its going to be a problem to mount them in the car. To mount the back bolts for example the seat needs to be fully reclined forward The seats are already gone and I have these cloth seats. They were bad to the point that they needed a full reholster ahh well I'll have to try and figure this out Regards
  3. Ok so I have a 1995 RZ Supra that came with factory Recaro seats. The seats are in bad condition so I have decided sell them off. I just got some stock cloth seats. I was about to install them today. I noticed that the black socket for the seat belt is there. The 2nd larger white socket for the seat hook-up, this car does not have it. Without that, I am unable to move the electric slider rails and adjust the seat. The position it is in right now makes it difficult to install as well. So if this Supra does not have that plug, what are my options to somehow hook this seat up to make these electric rails work? From searching most results are about the rails not working. In my case this Supra does not have the socket for the seats to begin with. So I am a bit lost. Any help will be great!
  4. Hmm yes I do, some ebay brand. I have not removed them since install. Could they be causing all the issues I have noted though? this is a simple plug-in conversion kit.
  5. When I first got the car, everything was good. This is a 1997 RZ-S 6-speed. After a couple weeks of ownership my marker lights which were blue stopped working. Fast forward about 1 year, I totally forgot about them and I just assumed I removed them or something. I never turn my fog lights switch on, one day I did that, and the blue market lights started working again for another week or so.. and then just stopped again. So the next thing was one of my headlights wouldn't switch on. I figured the bulb was maybe going bad. After flicking them on and off a few times it would stay on, or sometimes go off when driving the car. The issue was with the right headlight mostly, or sometimes the left. So at this point my market lights are not working, and one of my headlight bulbs are randomly staying on or off. A little while after this, one day my turn signals stopped working. When I flick the leaver up or down there would be no 'ticking' sound or green indicator lights wouldn't flash. That was the only issue, when I clicked the hazed light button it worked fine, and my horn worked also. A week after that happened, my hazard lights stopped working, my horn doesn't work, and turn signals. As of a few days ago, after taking my car out of storage for 2 months, the headlights don't work. When I flick the headlights on, the high beams come on which are very dimmed. When I flick the high beam forward, then the right headlight high beam only goes on and Is a lot brighter and the left one turns off. That's the only light that works. When I switch the fog light on, only the right fog like works. So at this moment, when I turn everything on normally without high beam switch or fog lights.. my high beams are on and very dim.. the main headlights are not going on or the marker lights. Also the horn, hazard lights, and turn signals don't work. When I spray washer fluid on the front window, or switch the high beams on and off.. that all seems to work. So I'm not sure if the main issue is in the steering column since it seems like these switches are working in a way? thoughts? Could it possibly be some fuses or some other sort of electrical issue, I'm just trying to see how I could trace it down. Based on these issues I'm having I'm not exactly sure where to check. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great. The car also has an alarm system that does not work from the beginning of ownership.. but all these other issues happened in the past 16 months. Cheers
  6. This is what Chris responded to me with: These are very old, Bilstein used to make them for various Jap cars, but they went out of the catalogue some time ago. They may only have sold them in japan, i am not sure. they were good quality, they MAY be able to be rebuilt if they give trouble, but i would have to check it out. Not much more I can tell you, sorry. I'd keep them if they are OK, far better than 99% of the tat out there I've decided that I'll be keeping these. I've driven on so many Supra coils and these just feel different. Car feels really balanced and smooth on these when going forward, and around turns they feel really nice as well.
  7. Shot him a message! thanks if anyone knows anything else that would be great to know. I could not find anything at all!
  8. Picked up another Supra sometime ago which I'll end up selling off to a guy I know soon. To my surprise it came up with some adjustable Bilstein coilovers. I tried to search about them and couldn't come up with much. My mechanic mentioned they are really rare and expensive? Right now I have ohlins with crazy spring rates, the ride quality is great but it's a bit too much for street purpose. These don't have adjustable dampening so I'd need to swap the springs. I'm thinking to changing to these Bilstien's because they ride much smoother. Any info or anyone know anything about them? I took some pics of the front ones http://s23.postimg.org/aodcylzmj/IMG_20140116_214249.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/rwfaq1y8r/IMG_20140116_214345.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/qnw0i5vob/IMG_20140116_214417.jpg ://s23.postimg.org/c78r3l66z/IMG_20140116_214720.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/z7fefx40r/IMG_20140116_214705.jpg
  9. Oh didn't think about active lip, that makes sense. I just picked this Supra up so figured it was already removed. It does look like it's fully in place. Can the undertray be removed from the bottom? just trying to do this for the time being without taking the bumper off. I will also try and remove the whole assembly so I can sell it off for anyone needing it cheers
  10. Ok maybe not OEM, it's MVP style lip which I'm replacing with a new one.. but I believe everything is bolted up 100% stock. Underside has all this trim I've never even had on previous Supra's. I jacked the front up, expecting I can unbolt it quick since it's an aftermarket lip. When I twist the bolts they just go round and round. From before I recall there's these flat metal piece on the other end that I need to grab? but there's no access to them. Is there any trim I can remove from the bottom that will help with this? I really don't want to remove the bumper, I find it a pita to do especially the underside trim. If I have to I will. So does anyone have any advice what the best or easiest way it is to do this? cheers
  11. I'm just trying to imagine how that would look and I cant', anyone possibly have any photo's of this work that's been done. So where the brackets originally are bolted to the car, those parts get cut off and new section's welded?
  12. I'm interested in purchasing a set of recaro seats with rails, I'm not sure what car they were for but EVO or something like that. I'd like to purchase this set. I was wondering has anyone else had their OEM brackets modified in some sort of way to fit some non-OEM seats/rails ? If there is just a little bit of modified needed is a pretty straight forward? Guy selling the seats knows a place that can get it done for not too much.
  13. Hi Keron sorry for the multiple messages I understand you are busy. Get back to my PM regarding parts when you get a chance, cheers!
  14. I'm posting this for a good friend. He has a bone stock 95 Supra RZ 6spd with approx 190,000 KMs on the motor. Start up idle is good once it warms up a bit it will usually idle at 500rpm. After cruising for 10-15 minutes the warning light in the middle of the dash and check engine light will come on. When car is turned off and started the check engine light will go away.. and samething would keep happening. Occasionally the car started to idle good around 900rpm and the check engine light would not come on after some hard cruising.. this would be sometimes when it's fully warmed up. It usually wouldn't last long and it would start to idle around 500rpm and check engine light coming on. He brought it in for a computer diagnostic yesterday, check engine light would flash 4 times, pause, and then 2 times, and repeat. He was told it could be the 2 pin coolant temperature sensor which I helped him replace today. That didn't really help same issue as before. Also the catalytic converter was replaced with a lower mileage one just recently as well since it was rattling inside. I'm thinking it could be some dirty sensor, any idea's ?
  15. Bump, anymore pics would be great. Trying to get some more idea's !
  16. I can't buy it locally, so after shipping and tax I'm looking at about $180 CAD Considering that they are $130 online without shipping. Seems like a bit much for it to 'disable' a light. That can almost buy me a brand new Nardi or MOMO wheel which I will be buying anyways. It looks like I'll just skip this and remove the bulb.
  17. Thanks for the link that helped clarify things a bit. I don't have cruise control but basically I am left with that yellow cable from the airbag. Me being in Canada, I have checked and the 'airbag boss kit' is a bit pricey for the job it does. If I simply remove the airbag bulb, will there be any other effects from this. Would the passenger airbag still be functional? It looks like I already have a boss hub just not the airbag one.
  18. Any suggestions? I was doing research and apparently I need a 'hub boss kit' which comes with 2 wires, one is for the horn and another is for airbag, so essentially it tricks the car like it has the airbag, so the passenger one works also and no sign on the dashboard? does this sound right? just want to make sure before I order one of these
  19. My Supra came with the big bulky style steering wheel, I then installed a MOMO race, the steering hub I recall only had one plug which was for the horn. The airbag warning light has been on constantly since I've done this 1 year ago. I'm changing to a new Nardi steering wheel. I was wondering what kid of proper hub I should get which will also eliminate the horn signal. I'm just not quite sure what I'm supposed to look for. I'd also prefer one quick a quick release. cheers
  20. I want to have an aggressive look to the car. I go no problem going OEM bumper but I'm just not sure if it looks too tame. / also seems like most people go from OEM to Ridox not the other way around. I'm just not sure if it's a downgrades in looks :/
  21. My car Is at the shop right now getting some other paint work done. Bumper has cracked paint and some chips due to poor prep work from the previous painter. It's a fiberglass replica Ridox. Fitment is pretty good but where it meets the hood it sits a bit lower with a slight gap, which is a bit annoying since I'm picky about fitment. It can be improved if I decide to have it painted. I can't justify getting a new Ridox right now, even the Shine due to cost. I have some other priority things to do on the car first. So I can either go OEM or keep this bumper. I do love the look of Ridox a lot but also keeping in mind it's a street car so I find it bottoming out sometimes. If I went OEM it would be with MVP style lip, I attached a photo of my previous Supra that had this. Also I'm missing the crash bar. I'm assuming the bumper didn't fit with it, bumper came with the car from Japan. Does the front bar help stiffen the chassis flex when during? I recall reading this somewhere. If it's pretty important to have looks like I'll need to part with the bumper. Thoughts? I don't know what to do :/ photo of my supra, additionally to the what it looks now it will have a diffuser and ganador mirrors. photo of my previous supra and before those this was my first one with Top Secret II bumper, I liked it a lot also. Might be hard to find though.
