  1. Home made enclosure and matting, arse ache but worth it!! Sounds much better now Amped, and installed.. Polished up gear stick.. Going to pick up a new engine next weekend for the turbo build and hopefully carbon boot should be painted up and on in a week or so Hopefully more progress soon !
  2. Thanks guys rich yeah that's going to be top of my list, probably send the head away to be done so I don't break it Dazzi good shout on the seals too although I've heard they can be a massive ball ache lol unfortunately head is already off so I can't do a leak down Think I may have to have some help with it all though I'm running out of tools and knowledge already haha
  3. I'm going to be buying another engine in the next week from parry on here for a na-t build.. Engine has 40k on from keron.. Head is off and cams out etc I want to take my time with it and make a good job of it.. What's best to replace or change for a na-t? Head has already had a very light skim.. I was thinking of doing the valve stem Seals and having the head pressure tested before fitting a TT HG and putting it back together..as I know this can be a weak point Will fit brand new, water pump & crank pulley, stat etc Is there anything else that would be recommended? Or would definitely change? Or anything that would be worthwhile getting done? Piston rings etc? I don't want to spend a fortune and I think it's one of those things where you could easily go overboard and start being silly replacing everything at great cost.. But I do want it to be reliable and hold good power 4-500 bhp reliably Any advice would be good Shopping list would be fantastic! Thanks Rob
  4. Sounded like a creaky door.. Kinda wish it had stuck around for Halloween lol
  5. Tbf mate my bog std na clutch squeaked quite a bit at first previous owner replaced it not long before I bought the car.. Pleased to report no squeak now!
  6. Looks smart I think the straight exhaust suits this rear rather than the usual angled jap style
  7. what i've done doesnt really reduce noise more reduce vibrations and improve mid and bass.. its taken some of the tinny-ness from the doors much like if you put your finger on a ringing tuning fork.. and stopped some of the plastics vibrating together. if you want to reduce volume all together you'd probably have to use proper dynamat or equivalent stuff which you can get in big sheets and put it under the rear seats etc as that seems to be quite thin metal, under the carpets and inside all the panels.. would be awesome when its done. i've heard of some people using expanding foam etc too to deaden things *be very careful with this * as it can buckle panels if too much is used.. talkaudio forums are a good place to look for ideas and DIYs hope that helps
  8. Awesome work mate.. I need to change my fluids soon tbf box and diff definitely overdue doing! Get some more videos mate! Glad to hear it's running well..! What you going to up the pressure/power to?
  9. The 'sound proofing' in the rear has worked so well I'm sure rich will back me up on this! The difference is unreal and that's with only the back done and some shit speakers! Even the mrs noticed! My attempt at some brackets The new speakers the mdf rings are glued and curing in the garage at the moment Will have a go at fitting them along with my old amp and sound proofing the front at the weekend. Also if I can get someone to give me a hand I can test fit the carbon boot
  10. cheers mate ! i agree 100% they are very high up the list! Especially the front indicators!
  11. Headed down to the custard factory at the weekend with a few friends. Joined a few guys from the Ford ST owners club ST-OC.com down there too heres a few quick 'arty' shots https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/q80/s720x720/1379640_10151784864964864_285286693_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/q81/s720x720/1378580_10151784864984864_1694770139_n.jpg https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/q84/s720x720/1385011_10151784864709864_1853351404_n.jpg https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/q75/s720x720/526956_10151784864019864_1688863433_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q77/s720x720/1379612_10151784863489864_616999615_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q83/s720x720/9412_10151784863929864_548254258_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q83/s720x720/9412_10151784863929864_548254258_n.jpg MDF rings, wiring kit and the components should hopefully turn up tomorrow so I can have a go at fitting it all
  12. its just the rear speaker holders mate havent done the doors yet thats tomorrow! -edit- I've just realised what you mean!!! that last picture is copied from the DIY thread.. just an example of the brackets im going to 'attempt' to make tomorrow ! its worked suprisingly well i think! going to go and get some more from B&Q tomorrow to do the fronts with and layer it up! who needs dynamat! :/ http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-XENON-PURE-WHITE-5-SMD-LED-SIDELIGHT-INTERIOR-BULB-T10-W5W-501-6000K-6K-/251231914595?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a7e96ca63 as with just about any bulb imaginable if you find the code ie: 501, h11, 233 or whatever then type LED after it in ebay about 50,000 results come up! these are also the same ones for your sidelights and these are for your centre light if you are interested in doing that too : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290679263260?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  13. I decided to do something about the awful std speakers in the car and start off with a Bit of pikey sound deadening after reading some posts on talkaudio forums of people getting some good results.. Thought I would try it in the rear speakers Rear speaker pods before After.. Tape under fixings.. The reduction in vibration is much better.. I used an iPhone app called 'Bass Hz' which has a frequency tone. Around 70Hz freq was perfect for finding rattles.. Whilst playing this freq to start with touching the panel would reduce vibrations and the sound would become cleaner.. By the time I had done the sound stayed the same.. No rattles and actually deeper tones when fading from L balance to R balance the difference was noticeable I've just bought some focal ps165 components to go with my mb quart amp which I had in my old car So il be making some brackets up like this for them tomorrow and wiring in the amp .. So.. We'll see how that goes!
  14. I agree with the facelifts!! Maybe doluck front at some stage down the line so will probably stay as it is for a while Poorboys stuff is awesome, I had some black hole glaze before which was mint might have to invest!! See that barn to the left... That's where it originated from..! Certainly come a long way!! To Close up of cam cover
  15. eBay there should be a link posted above somewhere nice mats tbf
  16. Haha I know mate it doesn't seem right but I've got this idea in my head lol! The emblems in carbon with a TRD wing with carbon blade... Think it's easy to go OTT with carbon, if prefer jus little subtle touches
  17. thanks guys, quite a big difference ! even the mrs noticed still nowhere near perfect in person due to stone chips and what looks like where bird sh*t has been left on the bonnet.. but as good as it can be without paint..it looks so much better! Detail UK can: https://www.facebook.com/DetailUK ! They were the ones that did this haha not me! tempting.. I love the spoiler though I think its too iconic and kind of what makes the Supra.. would be a shame to get rid of it! think the plan is to paint it.. masking the toyota badge and the supra badge so that they stencil onto the boot so the boot is black and you're left with them showing in carbon fibre - something a bit different
  18. Cheers mate I really need to get a decent DA too been saying this for ages but always seems to come second to other bits! jus be careful as the paint gets hot quick and really thin if it's anything like mine.. Get someone to go over with a paint depth gauge first before you start cutting back Whenever the next meet is I should be there..! Il take you up on that offer though really want to see how yours goes! Although it will definitely make me want to start the engine build ASAP lol
  19. quick photo update: painted engine cover and fusebox.. heat shield also sprayed matt black from the silver it was before.. much better.. more subtle i think https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/q71/s720x720/1376615_517269101697539_2006692235_n.jpg hard to believe this was the same car! https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/q73/s720x720/68277_489847584439691_605621257_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/q71/s720x720/1379991_517269165030866_1320228034_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q71/s720x720/734088_517269198364196_1350570851_n.jpg https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/q71/s720x720/1381476_517269175030865_180429728_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q75/s720x720/599331_517269241697525_857978674_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/q75/s720x720/1383481_517269271697522_1957603752_n.jpg the supra has been away at detail UK again over the last few days getting some more work done to the paint.. its looking much better! still very tired and old paint but its as good as it ever will be without a respray.. might have to put my hand in my pocket at some point in the future and get this done, but more important things first.. suspension, supporting mods and BOOOOST!! ;D https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q77/s720x720/600785_517269325030850_1161555359_n.jpg as you can see still some imperfections and the other wing still needs a bit of machining to get rid of some slight marks.. https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/q75/s720x720/1383107_517269345030848_669270642_n.jpg this photo makes the bonnet look better than it is... in reality there is still a few marks and blemishes that you can see up close.. but 100 percent improvement https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/q81/s720x720/1381278_517269405030842_511456640_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/q71/s720x720/1383798_517269485030834_1470333243_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/q71/s720x720/1378065_517269501697499_654092794_n.jpg must get rid of these!!!! facelift indicators anyone?? https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q75/s720x720/1233524_517269528364163_43750001_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/q83/s720x720/1375035_517269571697492_249486497_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q75/s720x720/554138_517269591697490_911651756_n.jpg https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/q73/s720x720/526943_517269635030819_764781264_n.jpg got some new bits hopefully arriving tomorrow too
