Got any videos mate? a few people have recommended this twin box system... looks decent too!
-
Hi all! At the moment I have a stainless powerflow system on my NA and its a little too loud for what I want.. I'm after something quiet as possible ideally especially at low RPM! i've had a little search about on the forum but not really found much info. its so at least I can crawl out of my nice quiet little cul de sac without waking everyone up at night but i'd still like some noise when required!! I like the look of the typical Jap can style.. HKS Silent looks nice.. just hope its as quiet as the name suggests any suggestions/videos would be awesome Thanks Rob

And if you don't fancy a swap il buy the silent off you lol

floormats ! I have some brake shoes to fit at the weekend and hopefully I should have my interior parts back from the paint shop soon! going to save up this month so that next month I can sort my boot out with some goodies and maybe a new spoiler... new seats are needed too..!
-
Fitted a small sun strip too which I'm undecided on but for £3 delivered you can't argue!
-
Yeah I followed your advice with that one and did just that.. Got the marigolds out!! Cleaned it a few times let it dry then done 3 coats of dye letting it dry inbetween rounds and I'm really happy with the outcome.. I need to order myself some new floormats now to keep with the new look! Will refit tomorrow and then I should have my dash panels back soon painted in my favourite paint code

That looks amazing mate love it..! What turbo is that? Bet you can't wait to have it all running and mapped!! What power you going for?
-
Quick 50/50 And a good brush inbetween blasting!! Seems to of come up well so far.. Bring on the dye!

Yeah there are loads of things to do and It's all about the little things really Stripped... The before: Carpets were as expected.. filthy... Sprayed up with copious amounts of carpet cleaner.. Bit of washing with the old jet wash..!
-
Thanks got some awesome plans for the rusty old bootlid! Gotta save up probably get it sorted next month. Can't wait to get my dash bits back too, they were a bit scummy before and have gone away for some paint - think that will make a big difference to the interior! Polished up the plastic clocks with some of this stuff... Gotta say its really good! They were a bit scratched and had something splattered over them before... Would of got before pics but my phone died Still.. After.. Carpet is coming out today which should be good even if its just for a clean as its pretty bad but I am going to be having a go at dying it too whilst its out.. See how much mess I can create before I get kicked out my own house!

Cheers mate, there is plenty to do that's for sure, as the stuff gets bigger I'm sure progress will slow a little but I'm planning on doing a lot to this I think the 18s on it at the moment are okay but the GTRs there look lost in that style think you're right 19s would suit much better..! Ride quality can't be worse than my old clio so I guess I'm not too fussy about that So..... This happened... My OCD kicked in and I took the rear lights out to clean behind and metal polish the locking mech which looks much better now! Oh and my MVP titanium Knob fitted and polished up New stereo
-
Fitted my new rear discs.. Much better!!! Old one had a crack through it too! Before.. After.. Tried my mates 18" rota GTRs think I may need 19s if I go for grid drifts ..
-
aye..well if thats the problem then so be it but im hoping not!!!! lol

well it seems to be air free now as its not overheating at all and temps seem good.. still not very hot heaters lukewarm at best..! maybe there is a heater fault as well! what are they? control rod seems okay!

Coolant boiling/misfire after rear pipe split help!

Yeah, they dont seem too bad.. after changing the gearbox on my 182 everything on this seems basically plug and play due to the sheer amounts of space you have to get to things...! even if this cooling system is frustrating me its easy enough to get to most of it !! I will definitely take you up on that mate! let me know I might try and organise another track day at curborough soon haha yeah definitely more rewarding and will be a good learning thing too! should also be a certain reliability factor too if you have done everything with new/decent parts ! I had another quick go with this earlier.. got some PTFE and wedged coolant in a large funnel in the rad cap.. stuck it in the rad.. left it idling for about 10 mins revving it occasionally just as a last chance.. temp rose quite quickly to halfway where it stayed actually may have been a few bubbles.. top rad pipe was hot.. as were the rear pipes bottom warm/cold.. put the cap on and gave it some punishment to see if it decided to get any hotter.. when I pulled up everything seemed about even around all the pipes and the bottom pipe seemed hot too (would this suggest new thermostat is okay?).. temps bang on mid way but still no heat through the heaters lukewarm/cold at best.. doesnt seem to be consistent.. surely with the water pump gone or lack of circulation it would overheat and boil over.. anything else I can check heater wise? might have the dash out again tomorrow and just check when I changed my cd player over that I didnt pull anything out! -

understandable! really appreciate the offer im skint till payday really on the 27th so wont be doing anything with it till then anyway! cant wait to see the NA-T beastie! although its not going to be good for my bank balance...!! keep us updated ! once I've sorted this, some decent new suspension, probably some new suspension arms etc, bigger brakes, (basically supporting fixes) few body bits.. bit of rust on the boot needs to go and a new exhaust system i'll be buying a second hand engine + box and saving for NA-T -

Right il test the pump then and thermostat and see how we are..might try flushing again.. I think the rad is okay as water seems to flow round when I attached the garden hose up and through squeezing pipes etc I've driven it about a bit for a few miles and it hasn't overheated but I've been careful as I'm not sure how much I trust it at the moment not to leave me stranded! -

that rod is all present and correct..! back to the drawing board.. I may just start again.. try draining all the coolant and going again..a friend suggested that i pull the bottom rad hose off.. drain it... then with the engine running..refill slowly with a funnel and leave to idle for 10 mins with the rad cap off squeezing all the hoses lightly for some encouragement... I think a test of my new stat is in order too just to make sure its not faulty.. whats the best way to test the water pump i'm pretty sure its okay as the level rises and drops with revving etc? i hope its okay anyways dont fancy the cambelt on off job really! is it possible that garages may have a tool to pressure fill the system properly from the rad cap? if so any suggestions for decent garages in birmingham/walsall/tamworth what an absolute arse ache! -
It was hot... Once lol!
