  1. Looks good mate keep us updated with what it makes when you have it sorted..!
  2. That's awesome mate.. Love that video..! More!!!! I'm going to get a few more bits done to mine then buy an engine and start my conversion you've inspired me! Would be keen to know what power/torque it's putting down etc I've started a NA-T spec thread in the tech section so people know what to expect from different set ups
  3. Very useful mate thanks..! Sounds like some good builds..! T61 seems to be a good choice Some nice W58 destroying going on there too haha..! How long did it last both times at that power :o?
  4. not sure if this would be best posted here or in supra chat.. mods feel free to move if appropriate
  5. I've been doing some research into NA-T recently and there is ALOT of completely different set ups.. thought it would be a good idea to collect everyones NA-T specs in one place so we can see the effects of running different set ups and its reliability + performance, and also who has pushed the boundaries of what the GE can handle! If this has already been done and i've missed it then if you're a mod feel free to delete this thread What I'm proposing is you post the following information: 1 or 2 pictures followed by these headers Internal engine Mods (inc head work, cams etc): Compression Mods: Turbo Choice: Wastegate: intake manifold: Induction: Exhaust (size + make) inc manifold: Cooling mods: engine management: Boost control: Injectors and fueling: Ignition, plugs etc: any other electrical supporting mods: mapped by: gearbox, clutch and drivetrain: Power: Torque: Boost pressure: Date converted: Problems during build (or least favourite part ): any running issues encountered: any RR printouts to support! feel free to add any other headers for useful info that I may have missed along the way.
  6. as far as im aware 400hp is easily achievable on stock internals.. some people may also run the TT head gasket to lower compression a bit and allow you to run more boost and still have slightly higher compression than a GTE however 400+bhp on the W58 (na manual 5 spd box) is likely to shit itself with some abuse.. this is not something i've done but I will be looking to do in the future after some supporting upgrades..so I'd also be interested to know peoples power/compression changes/wastegate and turbo set up too.. if people wouldnt mind posting a quick spec of their NA-T that would be useful..
  7. All fitted before it pissed It down... Great British weather.. Fuse box cover LED Centre light .. And new flat blade wipers..
  8. iOS app would be awesome ! Nice work
  9. Fair point I hadn't thought of that..! Il let you know how I get on!
  10. Already on the list.. Will be getting done when I have my new boot lid sprayed
  11. Haha that's my problem.. It's a great hobby and I can see this project going for a long time and getting very expensive for that reason haha!!!
  12. as they are import plates they can have 64mm letters like these, do not require grouping and only need 10mm between letters.. domed letters are perfectly legal providing they meet all the other criteria such as font and must be plain black no patterns etc.. fleabay! seem to be good quality, thick and seem to fit pretty well and they have the hole yes. these are the ones http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270868732038?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 thanks mate once ive done a bit more im going to send her some pictures of it its come a long way in quite a short time, ive really enjoyed working on it too, they're nice cars to tinker with seems there is always something to do! as much as id love to say I have the skill to do this, i paid a body shop to do them! really pleased with the way they've come out though
  13. The Inlet will be powder coated too soon.. Either black or the same dark anthracite like my wheels
  14. Quick shot of some of it fitted... Il fit the rest later and get some more pics Engine cover half done.. Bottom part and fuse boxes will be done too Think I may spray that heat shield Matt black too..
  15. Cheers can't wait to get it all fitted in tonight Errrrrmmmmmmm..... *hides* Maybe.. Who's asking..? They aren't legal plates as such.. Legal font, size, construction, spacing, reflective backing, bsau codes are there etc just doesn't have the plate makers postcode on them..
  16. Videos videos videos...!!
  17. Il get some pics of the plates in the day and it all fitted tomorrow
  18. Sometimes it's better that way to build it yourself and you know what's been done..! I'm just assuming everything is shit unless otherwise inspected & replaced lol! Small update: New plates :) Dash panels finished in Renault sport black gold - little tribute to my old car and my favourite paint code..!
  19. ahh just had a look at that.. looks nice! good spot! shame im after a pair though! keep your eyes peeled ! - - - Updated - - - thanks mate im really enjoying it so far!
  20. Update of the century.... Hold your breath.. New 'premium' car mats All about the little things eh! New handbrake shoes and spring kit fitted today to go with the new discs and pads etc.. Should be getting my new plates and interior bits back from the paint shop today too I hope
  21. That's awesome mate!!! Pictures videos etc needed..!! ASAP! What bhp and tq did it pull at 7.5psi? Nice work mate sounds like the build has paid off and you've done it properly too! Really glad to hear it's running as expected ! Ahhh this is really making me want to get my bodywork/suspension etc sorted to a stage where I'm happy to start a NA-T.. So full of win!
  22. yeah i agree if its any bigger then its definitely going lol!
  23. The whifbitz stuff seems highly recommended on here anyway.. Gonna measure my existing pipe work.. If it's 2.5 then il stick with it but replace the back box and have a mid box put in.. If it's bigger il replace the whole lot with this system..! Need to get under it when I get it back and see if it's decatted.. I thought it was just a cat back but now I'm not so sure..! I noticed however with the whifbitz Zaust there isn't a hole for a removable silencer.. Would want to bung it at night too to take some of the edge off
  24. £350 is good! didn't realise they were that cheap..! im not sure if mine is decatted.. im almost inclined to think it is as its so loud at the moment.. I really want a system that is quiet low down so i can still sneak about and then when i foot it then it growls! just checked out that recording.. does seem a bit loud still but thats not bad if its double decat and manifold i suppose!!!
  25. thanks mate, i forgot to mention I'm not a fan of the look of the rear box either on my system.. the tip is a little too short for my liking so ideally would want to replace the rear box anyway.. it is actually a twin box system im just wondering if there is any baffles in it!!
