    tyres

Ive'e just fitted 275 35 18 toyo r888's on the back of my car for road tyres. I'm off to the ring in may so they'll get a good test then. I got mine from cambskill I cant wait to try them out:) 300 all in delivered
  2. Just been on the phone to Jason at Sky.I have to say this is the first person in all my years of insuring cars Ive been able to speak about existing policies and receive honest up front advice, without a sales pitch. Thanks very much. Top bloke!!
  3. Glad to hear it was a problem you could sort out quickly and cheaply.
  4. All this talk of only running low boost. These engines will stand up to 1.4-1.5 bar on a 67. Its all down to the tune. Good fuel, good fuel pressure, plugs, timing and duty cycle You run your afr's slightly richer a degree or so less advance than a built engine maybe but it'll still kick ass. Its got to be one of the strongest engines out of the box there is. Ive got a twin pump setup on mine. I had a faulty wire on one pump and I never noticed the fuel pressure guage in the car telling me fuel pressure was down. Still one worked and kept the car running without it going pop. 2 is safe, one is the cheaper option and your always going to want to push the car so 2 is better in my opinion. heres always the the knowledge that 100 or so horses could be found if I adjusted the timing , up the boost and and lowered the afr's . Its one hell of a big carrot being dangled for any power hungry petrol heed...Those thoughts could lead to As for too much power at 1.2 bar....Get some sticky rubber for the rear's and maybe you'll change your mind. :d
  5. NO:tongue: I can handle it....
  6. Ive got a degree or so of advance to dial in, an adjustment of the afr's/fuel pressure and a lot more boost:) . Then I'll remove the rear seat, tools and spare tyre from the car. Do Longer burnouts and drop the pressure on the tyres to 14psi. As for mods Ive got an exhaust bypass going in, better intercooler pipes to be fitted. Later I'm having a direct port injection system for methenol:d 2+bar on road fuel with still more advance:d :d

  8. :)I'm Chuffed as ive got myself a 1st position at the rwyb last weekend and 3 overall in the casrol challenge. Not for long though I'm sure:) At least It gets me free entry and pass to the next rwyb. and I'm certain the cars' got more to come on its current fuel and boost. I just need to go after a proper event so the track has been prepped unlike the last two times!
  9. What fuel pressure are you running at idle?
  10. Am i right in thinking youv'e done work on the inlet side? plenum/throttle?? Check your TPS settings and then your fueling at idle on the emanage
  11. Im after a laptop that can run xp. It Doesn't need to be all that special... Looking at the 100-50 mark Thanks:) Rob
  12. Anyone going up for the weekend shows??
  13. I normally go out of my way to speak to fellow supra owners and I was there yesterday but In my honest opinion that car is everything I dont like about the modi-fried car scene!!!
  14. It was silver but it also had some two tone/decals stuff going on as well. Never saw it run. I won't say my thoughts of it as I would no doubt offend I'd also like to give a well deserved shout to Gary Passingham Of GT-ART for talking me through things and on the phone just about every time I've been top the pod, taking time out of his sunday just to help out and the guys at the workshop for the good work. I don't make a song and dance of it but I think I can safely say they put cars together well. Gary does know how to get a powerful and importantly, safe tune from just about any car. I've had one issue with my car last year and they put it right without any fuss. You dont get better than that. The rolling road is excellent and its conservative with power readings unlike some dyno's Thanks!
  15. Hi there. . Did you run in the end?
  16. Had a fun day at pod Sunday. Lots of interesting cars and a good bunch of petrol heeeds:) Saw an AB flug supra there yesterday along with a silver tt and 1 other. The morning was too busy and the track a little cold. Diddn't manage to into the tens until the afternoon when I realised my afr's were down to 9.3 at wot! So I turned down the fpr over two runs, boost was set to 1.43 I couldn't get great starts and my best 60ft was just under 1.7 By late afternoon the track had almost cleared and I managed to rack up 3 sucsessful runs with a best of 10.7 that was with the afr's at 10.4 at wot. Ive done the castrol challenge thing but half the times were with my number plate, including my best time of the day. Still a free pass to the nex rwyb is coming my way:) I'm going to try and get this sorted for the supra day at pod but I'm skint so theres a good chance thats as good as its going to get for a while... see you there:d

  19. Is there any way to absolutely sure that my type of tyre will pass?
  20. Yup! Thats the tyre. Excellent they are too!
  21. Hi Kevin. I'm running the 275 45 17 drag radials. The sad thing is Ive got another set ready to go on when these have worn out. I use these on the street and have been on my car since October last year. The car past its MOT with them on. Why is it these tyres arn't allowed?
  22. Never said it was too far! I've driven up before just to spectate. Its the combined costs. Im not prepared to go out and buy a pair of drag tyres, have them fitted and balanced for one event. I'd need to be running race fuel as well. If £400+of tyres accomodation petrol and entrance fees doesn't mean a lot to you then thats fine mate. It does to me!
