  1. Pretty much hit the nail on the head as far as I’m concerned. Even now I want to like the car but I know it’s just the badge that’s drawing me in.
  2. Yea it’s a shame that he’s proven all the skeptics right... The car shown is exactly the same as the release car. So saying: “it’s just a prototype” was total BS
  3. The A90 is literally the car that we saw though so many of us have indeed seen it?
  4. That also means servicing and repairs will be a total rip off at dealers seeing as everytime I’ve been to BMW it’s been twice the price it’s ever been at Toyota
  5. This. I mean there’s evidence enough it’s a reshelled Z4 and nothing more but this is the elephant in the room that no one wants to address when defending it. BMW even came out with a statement on the day the supra was released saying their car is quicker! Toyota are under the thumb in this deal.... an equal partnership, this isn’t
  6. For £55k pro model (as you can’t get the base model yet) should this car not already be up to scratch?
  7. The LC F will be the real supra successor. It’s a shame they abused the name and just whacked it on a reskinned Z4 but unfortunately that’s what they’ve done. The LC F is going to be £100k+ no doubt but I’ll probably look for a used one in the future.
  8. I think he’s talking about the RC F which has 472bhp and a naturally aspirated V8 this was announced at the same show as the supra. The LC F is what I want to see
  9. The only way I’d get this is if it got me a guaranteed GRMN and the price wasn’t insane. Otherwise what’s the point. May as well get a 2nd hand LC500 or GTR
  10. You should have been given a “supra champion” at your local dealer. They can help with a refund. I told mine of my concerns and I wanted to test drive it first. He rang HQ and they said I could reserve the car I wanted (you only get to choose colour anyway) and then if I wasn’t happy upon test driving (demonstrators turning up in May) then I could have my money back. So it’s up to you. Might be worth it just to be the first to test drive it. I can understand you being unhappy though. I’ve been gutted for a while now. I still have a small amount of hope the GRMN edition will be decent. If they will do it then I’d buy mine under the condition that I can trade mine in for the GRMN. Doubt it though.
  11. I’ve got a pro in white. Anyone wants my spot it’s for sale
  12. Yea but I think the point is we’re paying the same as a cayman S and way more than an M2 and should be getting that performance out of the box. Having to buy the car as is and pay more for aftermarket parts at that price, considering the competition? Yea that’s a bad sign
  13. In the U.K. I don’t know who they’re selling this to. The cayman and M2 are much cheaper than this. The new Z4 is cheaper than this and quicker. If they were thinking on selling this on the supra name alone then they were reaching
  14. They gave BMW far too much control clearly. They probably told them you have to limit your figures
  15. Yep this was my point to. Apart from the fact this country is a massive rip off there’s no excuse for such disparity between pricing. It’s never usually that huge a difference
  16. For anyone who can’t stand that bloke If you can’t stand this bloke then you’re out of luck lol
  17. I’ve been super critical of Toyota but in fairness their customer service has been WAY better than my dads experience with Ford. They told him take it or leave it when the car wasn’t as advertised. Toyota just told me in writing to order the car I want then if I’m not happy after test driving it in May I can have my deposit back. So pretty happy with that.
  18. What you’re saying is Toyota took 20+ years to make the same car? But LESS reliable
  19. Oh and surprise surprise the US get it at $50k so we are getting totally ripped off
  20. In fairness the Z4 model that matches the supra is the M40i which is £49k starting. Which is still a complete rip off
  21. Values will definitely go up. The value for money is non existent for the new car

  23. Unfortunately I do agree. However forgetting the MkIV for a moment and for the benefit of anyone reading over at MKVsupra.com as I know they’re slagging us off You can’t charge this much for a carbon copy car that gets out performed by such a large margin by hatchbacks. Toyota had other options. If they had any confidence it would have a Lexus power plant. I would have been fine without an inline 6. Engines evolve that’s ok. What’s not ok is making out like you’ve designed an all new car when the whole things has BMW stamped across it. I’ve seen the “prototype” (which let’s be honest was the final car in wrap) and there’s no Toyota on this apart from the shell, everything else has BMW stamped on it. The interior is uninspired and the outside is limited by the z4 chassis.. Just to back up my point on price. The Audi RS3, Mercedes A45 AMG and BMW M140i all cost around £40 to 50k. All of them have over 335bhp some even more. Not to mention all the modern handling tech. Paying the same money and getting out performed by a hatchback isn’t a good legacy. I am still on the fence till I’ve driven it but it’s not looking good!
