Wow I’m so glad to see this up and running. Haven’t been on the forum for a little while now but I always hoped this project would get underway. Has really put a smile on my face! You’ve done some spot on work gents and should be really proud of yourselves. im pretty sure that dodgy garage is under completely new management now and as far as I know one of the ex forum members doesn’t even work on cars anymore which says a lot. either way it’s in good hands now and hopefully I’ll see the old girl again one day! I’ve got some random parts lying about so ill have to take a look and see if there’s anything useful!

And so the journey ends. It’s exactly 6 years to the day that I bought the car and every moment been amazing. I have had some truly life defining moments with it. Ups and downs. Funnily enough the passenger side bonnet latch jammed hence the bonnet up, so it showed it’s annoyance right at the end but it’s and easy fix. Its going to join a really amazing collection of cars alongside Lamborghinis and GTRs. I wish the new owner a great ownership.

I’ve currently got a deposit down on a lotus emira and I’m really tempted to stick with it but obviously until I’ve seen it in the metal later in this month and test driven it in February I won’t know 100%. I do know for sure it’s the only car that’s appealed to me instantly for the first time in a long time! ive got an mx5 for the time being to keep me entertained which is pretty much a track car at this point lol

Cheers mate. I’m sad to see it go because it has a lot of great memories but it’s time to move on. in my opinion this is pretty evident that condition is the prime motivator as it was for me. It’s good to see supras hitting such value now as they are a great car
-
No problem at all. Hopefully that’s set the standard for Supras now which tbh was kind of already set by the parts and scarcity. It is going to Ireland so leaving the U.K. but will be sitting along a R34 GTR which is good news

Car has now sold for very near asking price. Thanks all

I 100% agree that the market has changed and obviously I have a vested interest too however I based it on what I could get in the U.K. and imported and I just couldn’t find anything for less that was The same spec. If I’m wrong then I’d happily be proved wrong but so far anyone I’ve challenged can’t show me the info. i definitely wasnt trying to say you or a forum member would try to scam the guy but some on Facebook almost certainly would!
-
Price is dictated by what’s available on the market. You cannot get a TT6 imported for less than £60k that’s an impossibility. For a U.K. spec you’re looking £60k+ easy. not sure why there are some trying to lower the prices but you go by what you can get. If you can’t get an item anywhere and someone has one then they dictate the price. You will have to wait longer for a buyer as anything above £35k is outside of a the regular persons personal loan limit so you’ll be looking for people with the cash to stump up too. I’d put it up for £65K at least and see how you go. Don’t listen to anyone telling you less as they’re just looking out for their own gain. Seen a lot of those types of Facebook which is sad. I totally get why you would want to sell though.

I got back my deposit once I had got to the test drive day as wanted to make the most of it! Plus thought I should wait until I drove it before making a proper judgement. I found it was very fast but drove just like a 2/3 series BMW automatic. Some may disagree but just being fast doesn’t mean it’s not boring and after test driving it again recently I can firmly say it’s boring to drive. There’s zero engagement and that’s partly due to it being an auto but also due to the fake sounds and horrible steering feel. It’s pretty obvious after driving this back to back with other BMWs that the Toyota engineers haven’t done a thing so I don’t think they should have called it a supra and I wouldn’t ever buy one. The look of it though has grown on me a lot. Especially with some small mods it looks great but looks aren’t everything!
-
I thought I’d never sell and I was thinking that only a year ago but here we are. My life has changed so much I can’t begin to describe but that’s life. People change, life changes and it makes you want to do different things. To do these things I need to put it up for sale. If I was a millionaire then I probably wouldn’t sell but I don’t want it enough anymore to have all my cash tied up in it.
-
Nah time for new things!

Thanks for the kind words. They are much appreciated. I think the price is reasonable but I’ve had some comments on Facebook that weren’t too respectful so thought I’d simply explain myself to the forum as I’ve not seen many TT6s for sale for a long time and most people on the forum are able to have that conversation about price and give their reasoning which is great (unlike Facebook lol) The car really is a great example and I’m sure the first serious buyer to come see it will take it. Less of a risk than an import as it’s already here to inspect to your hearts content. I get what you’re saying about the price bracket of the cars moving into a different territory now. The higher the price, the smaller the pool of buyers.

Only just noticed not all the photos uploaded I’ve uploaded them now. Appreciate what you are saying about price but I don’t think there are any cheaper ones available even to import that are genuine or converted. I think it’s fair but like I said for a forum member I’m willing to negotiate the price. Cheers

If you go and take a look on goo net the sales website for Japan exports then they’re all really expensive now appreciate the comment

Unfortunately my time is done with it and I just don’t want to drive it anymore. It’s sad but that’s just how I feel about it. Looking at getting a different car or if I don’t go ahead with that just doing more things with the money instead. Making more memories that way instead

Hi all, Please see the below for sale thread. I haven’t posted much the last year or so but I have been to forum events (back when we could). The car is a long standing forum car. Being owned by Abz before me and myself who has been a member since 2012. Car is very clean and those who have seen it know that. The car has wanted for nothing in my ownership and I’ve always used the best parts. It really was a passion for me. It’s just a shame that’s gone now and I want to move onto other things which I never thought I’d say. I’m certain who we comes to see the car first will buy it, it really is that clean and has full folder of history. Also just to add this car has always been garaged and the engine and gearbox are warrantied till the end of the year. here is my for sale ad on auto trader: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202107024557695 there is a link to a video walkaround of the car on there too, and my car thread on the forum: being the forum I appreciate your comments and obviously I would be open to lowering the price to a forum member. 2020 wasn’t the best year tbh but the car is all done and complete. It went off for a complete detail when it got back and ceramic coated. The car is now up for sale as even though I loved this car and have made some great memories it’s too closely tied to my last relationship and reminds me of last year way too much. For sale ad on autotrader: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202107024557695# just noticed my video links might not be showing up but they are all located here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpTi8Mho4qXDIcExSi1JQ2Q

Unfortunately for me once I got the engine back and just as I finished breaking it in the clutch system decided to let go and I tried to drive it home. Unfortunately 3rd syncro was already a little weak and I pushed it over the edge. This meant a complete rebuild of the gearbox….. obviously not ideal…. I got this done at Paul Cheshire with uprated synchros.
-
Car then needed an engine rebuild so went away to James at Performance at Hart and has been spot on ever since. Took a fair while because of covid though. What had happened is the piston rings had failed which is why the oil had gone. It’s odd because I didn’t see excessive smoke which is what you would have thought would have happened. Anyway the engine had burned all its oil away and caused it to knock. It’s all fixed now though and upgraded as I always do with every part on the car that goes wrong. I’ll add the full spec soon
-
Unfortunately the story goes awry here as after I returned from the trip I didn't check the oil (which i had done before the trip, it was new and just under the top line) and somehow all the oil had disappeared or burnt away on the trip then this happened: IMG_1609.MOV

2019 we went on tearoom tours and carried the trip onto through wales, Ireland, the isle of man and then home (pictures in reverse order):
-
There was also the meet for the new "supra" that we attended: There was sclub this year at the same time as this meet but cant seem to find any photos from it. great year though and is definitely the best year I have had with the car
-
Then there was Tearoom Tours 2018 which was one of my favourite trips. the car was great for this trip. didnt miss a beat:
