Hi everyone. Finally got my registration plate made up (K43 UMA) though i should of got if they had it K42 UMA.. nevermind... OK the question is as i can't seem to find an answer on Google, is there any law that would prevent me from sticking my new number plate over the old one (this is just for the rear one). Reason is, I went down to Halfrauds to get the plate made up. The guy at the counter checked all the details etc and said OK what type of plate.. So I looked at the guide book and said it looks like the "Import" plate (which is basically bigger and more like a rectangle). So the guy took out an import number plate template to double check. Either way, it wasn't the right one, the guy said we'd need to order one in for you (I was fine with this). Then he said just before we went back in, you could always get away with a standard plate, it's a bit thinner but will fit. Obviously the bonus for this is, they stock them. So we went back in and he made up two standard size plates.
I have just gone to look at the rear one, I removed the screws and placed the new one in.. I immediately realised that it wont cover the massive gaping hole that's before me. So, the question is (sorry for rambling on), can i keep the old one in place and stick the new one on top of it? If I were to sell the car it would be with the plates (included in the price) so they'd be no reason to use the previous ones.
Any ideas? Also do you think i have a case to go back to Halfrauds and say, look this doesn't really fit does it!!!
