  1. ah right ok thanks. i re-assembled them and put back on, needed bleeding obviously, but ok then no leaks. i actually did this about a month ago, but only now posting as i have to remove again to change the pads. thanks for the tips,
  2. as in the caliper, each side of the brake pads, like this (the 2 largest items in this pic the caliper) split so they are 2 seperate items http://www.motormadness.net/images/v8cortina/caliper_split.jpg the fluid dripped out when i split them, i asume this is normal, i split them on accident, as wanted to just take them off as one to get access to the wheel studs, when need to change the brakes i only need to swing the whole lot upwards instead of splitting,
  3. UK brakes, i cant remember which ones now mate, think they were two on the outside of the caliper, 14mm, i removed the caliper as i was re-tapping the threads on a wheel stud changed brakes loads of times just puzzled why the fluid came out of this car only?
  4. ive changed brake pads on about 10 cars, easy enough job, i removed the rear calliper on my supra, (they split in half when botls were un done) however brake fluid continually dripped out? thinking they should have just swung up as on most cars, but why does the fluid drip out? sorry to sound such a noob ive done quite a few technical mechical things
  5. a 1.5JZ is a 2jz bottom end with a 1jz head. you sound like you mean an NA-T ?
  6. just came across this, is that normal for the downpipe to glow that hot?? high EGTs on that???
  7. ah rite, yea i have just been googling, its only north ireland that has that format plate, the south ireland have the white plates with completely different format dont they like this hope the car is a good one yea lol that was me that "bought it now"
  8. buying a car on the weekend, this is it (for my girlfriend) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320767865019?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_949 it has an irish plate. i called the owner, he advised that he had it off his uncle, who had it in ireland. can i find out if this is a UK car origonally which was imported to Ireland? or isit origonally a Irish car which is imported to the UK?? wana get it right for the insurers
  9. checked correct wire going to the starter motor 12+ ei thick enough so correct current getting to it or maybe the starter motor is dead
  10. i cant remember the size of mine, when i purchased a new garage door, i THINK it was about 8 foot wide, (including the frame) enough to fit the supra in, but dont forget you need space inside the garage to alow the doors to open... PS that wasnt the new garage door i purchased
  11. do you put it in the pump? or a paste for exterior ?
  12. bump, just had the car back tonight the kit they ordered which consisted of hub & bearing for £150 was the wrong one. i had the bearing for £65 + VAT. they charged me £55 + VAT for labour. they said the hub had some markings on it, but its fine. happy with this
  13. man that supra has had some money spent on it, even before you had it! then you just went nuts on it lol amazing, just been reading the updates and thinking whoaarr!!
  14. not sure who on here into this kinda music, but even if not this video is worth a watch!
  15. final bump 1 hour left!! bargain price at moment!
  16. hi mate, ive got greddy gauges, they will be the same principal. the water temp & oil temp are the same sender (just a thermometer) so the wires on yours have just snapped off have they? you still have the metal thermometer end & the wires? yea just join/solder them back together if you can (if there is enough wire left at the sender end to attach to) if not ive had replacement gauges from ebay USA....
  17. ok great, i will report back with the bill, should have it back up and running by the weekend...
  18. spoke to garage today, it is the bearing. they said that i may have damaged the hub also tho? they have priced parts £150 for the bearing & hub (seemed like a kit) but if the hub is ok they will just do the bearing. will this be easier for them to do now? just trying to estimate the labour bill....
  19. mine sagged & had seen better days, i remvoed it, my engine seems clean, and had no heating issues etc. i prefer it off, as when working on the car its easier (if underneath) easier to access parts, and i like to go underneath my car quiet often to check everythings ok under there (nothing leaking, nothing hangin off etc)
  20. i have similar issue, you can do a check on the standard diagnostics, but i havent got round to it yet. think its an issue with the speed sensor/mph converter ?
  21. my cars on 100k miles now, or just over. ive owned the car 2 years now, changed the plugs & oil/filter, new coolant, but ive no record or documents stating that the timing belt has been changed. im assuming about now i should have ahd it done, or can you tell my looking/feeling the timing belt? (when engine off obviously!) if so do you need to get the tensioner done also? or just the belt (and what make) i dont have any funny squeeks or anything there. it may have been changed but ive no record of it...
  22. yea seems like, just drunk kid wouldnt pay too much attention, dont supose you have a garage for piece of mind
  23. PMSL! Na mate, its our work car park believe it or not! 3 caravans there pikey style lol
