  1. Thread can be closed please, engine has been scrapped.
  2. Cheers for that. Will take them apart later today.
  3. Odo was showing 79k, ran fine. Complete with loom, ECU & Gearbox No catalytic converter, but manifold included. (Subframe not included) Must go before Monday. £75 ono Collection from Cambridge. http://gallery.me.com/garage2you/100114/IMG_1568/web.jpg http://gallery.me.com/garage2you/100114/IMG_1569/web.jpg
  4. 90k mile J-Spec turbos, didn't smoke or whine, tiny amount of shaft play, only taken off for a single conversion, car was running totally standard, no boost mods or exhaust mods. Sold on the basis of needing a refurb, due to being used. More pictures available on request. Looking for £150 ono Collection from the Cambridge or Ely area. http://gallery.me.com/garage2you/100114/IMG_1585/web.jpg
  5. Stock pump is on the left, the larger one on the right, after a quick Google seems as though it's a Skyline R3* GTR pump
  6. It'd only work on the VVTi cars, and as others have said, not recommended.
  7. Just seen this, not been on here much. The E9 connector (the plug with the yellow connectors) is common between Aristo and Supra, as you said. The E10 connector (which goes on the far right of the ECU, doesn't bolt in the like the E9 but is a clip fitting), which again is common between the Aristo and Supra but isn't part of the engine loom on the Aristo (and don't think it is on the Supra loom either? ) but the Aristo does have the E10 connector. The other plug isn't an ECU plug, and I only stated the ECU plugs are identical.
  8. That's what I was getting at, it's a J-Spec due to the cat temp probe, so only got the one. (this is where I fail as never seen a UK spec with one, but no doubt will be proved wrong )
  9. Very normal, and that's what Movistar was saying, you have to turn one one way, and the other the opposite, left and right, anti clockwise and clockwise, not all cars are like that though. So you'll need a piston wind back tool kit that does both ways.
  10. parcel2go, interparcel, parcel monkey I favour Interparcel at the moment as had problems with Parce2go not so long back
  11. Well, you need to check the reservoir before pushing the pistons back really. If it's fairly low due to the pads being low, and hasn't been topped up because the pads are low, then you won't need to worry about any spillage when replacing the pads.
  12. 296mm, same as GS300 and a few others
  13. The tied up one is the cat temp sensor, the other one is an O2 sensor.
  14. Pushing back with a G clamp is fine. Did you remove the brake reservoir cap? is it excess fluid coming out of the reservoir?
  15. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?235515 Did the previous owner live in scotland? Forum member Hassan?
  16. If you've not put any expensive coolant in it, I'd drain out, then slowly refill while engine running and go from there (unless you did slowly do it on the first place) and get a sniff test done. You can get the kit for about £30 from your local motor factors, plenty to do about a 100 cars in one kit, so nice little money earner
  17. What have you done about the leaking heater matrix? Jack the the front of the car about a foot in the air and try to bleed again.
  18. I don't know, just using the logic that the advert has the name Lee and on here it's a guy called Steve selling it Also had a bit of an odd MOT history Taken from here http://clubaristo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25559&page=2 But still a good buy if the car is OK. Shame my circumstances suddenly changed, otherwise I'd would have loved to been looking at it Nice one on the sale, didn't think it'd hang around long.
  19. Interested in a swap for your Toyota Aristo? for a 2001 Jaguar S Type 3L Sport Manual, FSH, 97k Miles? http://gallery.me.com/garage2you/100092/IMG_1054/web.jpg
  20. You'll need to show proof of trading if you ever have a claim. Also remember, you don't get all the bells and whistles with a trade policy like you do with a private policy and, you'll only ever get the trade value of the car if claiming for an at fault total loss claim. Surely an Admiral multi car policy would be better for you? Trade policies aren't what a lot of people make them out to be!
  21. I'm with TradePlan http://www.tradeplaninsurance.co.uk/ they were the cheapest for me this year, at around £650 with £20k indemnity, I they gave me a quote there and then when I rang them in July. I'm 35 and added the Mrs for an extra £250, although she only has business use as we weren't living together at the time. You'll pay slightly more than a normal mechanic due to you buying and selling. Advice? The car market is dead, unless you're going to specialise and know you're going to be able to sell, I'd really consider your options, especially if it's going to be your main source of income. Although it does vary by region.
  22. Me too, especially with it being -5 outside
