  1. Getting this contraption up to it's full potential is undergoing final developments, no-one said it would be easy. It's not just the charger, a lot of the car's functions are prototype and it's my only car and daily-driver, the second belt is still going fine and other than an intermittent mystery Crank Position Sensor blip and a sticky-solenoid in the transmission, all is reliably Supercharging and Flappy-Paddling me around with a big grin permanently on my face. The final tweaks involve fitting a Peugeot cam-belt idler-bearing to increase belt wrap and to replace the wonky supercharger-pulley hub. This I'm sure would let it pull the 15lb pulley, yet the 4" pulley has been running on the wonk and is not as pristine as it needs to be. The plan is to run the new charger with the new 4.2" 13lb pulley I have to get reliable boost and have it set up properly. I had a flirt with 10lbs and I'm sure that 13lbs will be fun enough to play with during the winter, I can then tinker it up some more when I'm feeling brave enough. I also need to sort out the transmission valve-body sticky-solenoid and rebuild the exhaust because that was damaged during the tow of shame. I have been waiting for a new charger to come up at the right price, it was £450 inc P&P, the first new one was £300 + P&P, the second and third combined were £135 inc P&P. New from Jaguar is rumoured to be around £4k and then probably VAT too.
  2. I promise you it won't be needing a turbo to be pretty awesome, you'll soon see when these last little jobs are jobbed. The route I chose was how I wanted it to be and not the simplest way. . I didn't want a conversion that looked like the plumbing under my Grannies sink. The easiest way would be to use an OE charger installation from a 1G-GZE and convert it to fit. Plenty of them in OZ going for $2-300. If anyone takes that route, I also have a brand new 180 amp 7M-GTE alternator and brackets.
  3. It's starting to look that way and I have a good collection of different length belts and different size pulleys and different pulleys and lots of many alternative 'things'. Charger 1: Brand new, died from ICV ingestion. Charger 2: Breaker sourced, declared dead on arrival. Charger 3: Breaker sourced, declared enough life in it to use to get the conversion up and running. Charger 4: Brand spanker, to be made ready for the return to the rollers.
  4. Brand new Eaton M112, latest sub-model with better porting and larger bearings, same as the one it all began with. I'm tempted to finish this project before being tempted by another.
  5. It's a bodge, yet if it's the return pipe you could do that to get out of trouble, but if it's the feed pipe then no. To replace it's not as difficult as you might think.
  6. Of the many odds and sods ordered to get on with the jobs to hand, so far, either wrong items have been sent or they haven't been sent at all, so I've taken out my frustrations on the suspension. I've had a full set of new OE wishbones, arms and rods for some time, so have swapped them in. The local Tyre Garage owed me a favour and setting up the geometry for me was the reward, it'll give the bushes a chance to settle in before C.W. does a proper job. The components removed have recently passed the MOT and on inspection they all look perfectly O.K, yet the difference this has made to the ride and handling is amazing. Quieter, taught-er, straighter with better steering response and far more predictable at both ends, even the brakes function better, it's like driving a new Supra.

    ijz issues

Speedograph Ritchfield at Nottingham will make you up a cable for around £30, just send them your old N/A cable and tell them the length you need it to be.
  8. Treat the gasket kindly and it will treat you kindly too. I had the one on mine on and off more often than hot dinners at times and never a problem.
  9. Both systems of heat will expand the hole enough to go on, but should you decide to use dry heat be careful, as to much heat will result with front oil-seal melt-down.
  10. They are tighter than a good Saturday night. Boil the centre component in oil, then fit it whilst still hot.
  11. I'm sure you will find that water in the plug-well is the issue. If you want a set of after-market leads at the right price, I noticed that Keron has a clean trendy used set. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/member.php?676-keron
  12. LBM, I have explained in previous posts why I was drawn into a factual outburst, I have been concise with my evidence and will not be drawn further on this matter into closing ranks. Others, Please feel free to talk about me amongst yourselves.
  13. Jamie, Re read the thread and you'll notice that I have actually tried to avoid this scenario and never mentioned your name. However, I was riled by poor attitude into my outburst and the photographs do not lie. I've said my piece and there can be no good to come from further.
  14. I realise I shall be marked a bad boy for reopening a closed thread, but my tail is most definitely not between my legs. In your words and several of your comments more, they're not your seats and they are your seats? This qualifies my opinion of you and the camera doesn't lie. I picked these up in a hurry to get home before I was snowed in and as I've said, first impressions are good, it's only when sat in and inspected closer that the poor workmanship becomes obvious. As I explained by telephone, because they are guano these were palmed off and I was too trusting, so I bought the short straw and have taken this guano deal on the chin and have lived with it. In response to a question on the forum I have stated that I wouldn't have your upholsterer turn up my jeans and the photographs show perfectly why I would dissuade another member from such poor quality work. As I stated, I was quite happy to let it rest after my jeans comment and posted no more until. During our telephone conversation you had no doubt they're your seats, you talk as your wallet guides you. In fact, it's apparent that your demeanour is dependant on smelling profit and it was your poor attitude that has resulted in my post. I only wish I had recorded the conversation to expose you on here. LBM, Excuse me, I've said my lot now.
  15. I gave sound advice, as often do and was content to leave it at that. However, a telephone conversation with Jurgen has been held. The Facelift seats in question, I purchased from another member, which had only a short time before been reupholstered via Jurgen. He was most displeased that my honest comment had cost him his middleman cut from a punter and after answering his many questions, he then informed me that my observations of this guano quality work were merely an opinion and continued to inform me that because I was a third party he was not liable to provide any service! I make it quite clear that I did not, nor plan to, ask for any ‘service’. After his ridiculous suggestion that maybe the seats had been substituted with others, he then continued and requested that I removed the seats, photograph the poor workmanship and forward him this information, enabling him to apply peer pressure to the upholsterer for his poor work and so capitalise from the scenario. I don’t do underhand manoeuvres or double standards, especially should they include selfishness or greed, yet Jurgen’s motives clearly include all of these. This imbecile has pressed my ‘Wrong Button’. Consequently, I have removed the seats in question and photographed the guano quality work and rather than sending secret photo’s, I openly post the pics here for all members to view. Finally, because Jurgen is insistant that my observations are merely an opinion, I consider myself justified to actually give my opinion. Which is; Jurgen operates a parasitic underhand middleman enterprise and I vow to never contribute to his Mr. 10-20-30-40-50%’s? lavish life-style and it’s my opinion that neither should others. First impression they look good Map pocket fitted to back of drivers seat instead of passenger seat The leather is a random mixed bag of quality Soft as a baby's bottom And hard as an old elephants bottom Stitching under passengers bottom Stitching here and there Underneath Finishing and fixings Right hand drivers seat bolster soft as a baby's bottom and my finger is pressed onto a chunk of steel Left hand drivers seat bolster tough as an old elephants bottom and my finger is pressed onto a chunk of steel It is so uncomfortable anything more than a pop to the shops results with a painful dead-leg on each side so one of these must be used. All in all, I think that my original comment was very reserved and polite.
  16. One N/A-T Aero with bald tyres bites the dust.
  17. Yes it should. It would be a good idea, by appointment, to take a trundle to Leicester and have Keron take a look at it. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/member.php?676-keron
  18. Probably a misguided effort to run the turbo's in parallel instead of sequential. Get it looked at.
  19. Also, the charcoal filter has been removed, this is not a problem as long as the fuel tank vent pipe has been blocked as well as the vacuum, if not the car will waft of petrol fumes. I would recommend you have someone who knows Supra's take a look at it, if there are three bodges that can be spotted in those limited view pics, odds on there will be more.
  20. That looks like an N/A dipstick in your T.T. transmission too, if so, you could have a litre or three to much fluid in there. Check it with a T.T. dipstick to find out, running with that much extra fluid could blow the seals on the transmission.
  21. If I'd known I was parked in the cheap seats, I'd have moved up and put a spanner in the works.
  22. Good to chat with you too. I didn't get a chance to take a pic of it without gawkers. I was quizzed so much by so many, with all the shouting required to converse over the din of the day, my voice has died.
