  1. It sounds to me like 'something' has managed to get into the engine, but if so it's amazing it runs so well.
  2. The studs have arrived. Thank you Ben. I've also found perfect-sized washers to shim the front mounts and it's ready to roll. I've also resolved the Hyperterminal issue. It has taken a while to work it out, but after telling the start-up a couple of 'alternative settings', this standalone version works fine with the Vista OS. Thank you Shane. That's two more 'niggling' jobs off the list.
  3. No studs have arrived here yet. I let a pal of mine spend a day attacking the charger with his 3-phase and pneumatic powered mops and due to the weather preventing me fitting it this weekend, I have spent another day polishing the crooks and nannies by hand. I hope Homer is right. They're Pirelli Sottozero 285 40 18's and a tad wider at the shoulder than the Michelin Pilot Sport 285 40's, so needed to prune a little from the arch trim to clear.
  4. £14.33 ex VAT and in stock. http://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/Toyota_4Runner_Ignition.aspx
  5. The last one I bought from Mr T, was around the same price.
  6. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DISTRIBUTOR-CAP-RC495414P-TO-FIT-TOYOTA-4-RUNNER-90-95-OE-QUALITY-/370650869199?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3A4%20Runner&hash=item564c836dcf&_uhb=1
  7. These should help keep the torque on the winter tarmac.
  8. I have pruned the supercharger casting here and there, to fit here and there and swapped the pulley for a quick-change hub. Mr Eaton didn't want to lose this one, Bob's press @ full-grunt and blow-lamp heat-assisted attempt failed. Plan B. Special privilege at Corby Mitsubishi Main Dealer, thank you, for access to their, Take no Prisoners Bad Boy, during the Workshop lunch-break. The O.E. fit pulley shown, cracked-off like a .22 round and the new hub pressed on sweetly.
  9. Thank you for the accolades. I said it looked better in the flesh. Other than potching up the wings over the headlamps on my first car when I was a mere sprat, I promise that's my first go.
  10. They're good at that. Cheers. I'm chuffed with the new lid and pleased to have Mad Max out of my life. It's nice to be able to park without fear of tinkerers and I can stop worrying about dick-heads falling into the hole.
  11. Just picked up the new supercharger from the Engineer, it's bottom has been planed and the threads drilled and tapped for the studs.
  12. Do a search on here for a T.T. into N/A transplant and do that, but without the T.T. block.
  13. I'm not getting at you, just stating a reality.
  14. You could piggy-back or fit a thicker head gasket and use stock T.T. ECU. Build as per T.T. lump, you may want to fit T.T. springs on the front to carry the extra weight.
  15. If your real name happens to be 'Most' excuse me.
  16. As long as you can do the spanner work yourself it would be the cheapest way to go. Most on here don't know which end to pick up a spanner and their advice reflects the added cost for this labour. I would leave the compression stock and use ARP head bolts.
  17. Stock N/A bottom end is good for 600 bhp and will take 1.1 bar boost @ 10:1 compression, it would be quicker than a T.T. lump too because of the higher compression. Just pay attention to efficient cooling of the charge.
  18. If not it's time it was.
