  1. As Paul has linked, the 3M specific primer is the one to get - and I recall vaguely that there was a 3M adhesive as well. But the reason I know that you'll need both is because I used neither :s
  2. I'd recommend using either and/or both the primer and an adhesive - the Di-Noc will start to lift if exposed to sunlight & heat (e.g. in a parked car in summer), especially in areas that have been stretched.
  3. Cheers, mate. I'm just selfishly thinking about my next Supra
  4. Please take measurements, pictures and do wiring diagrams, because this is something I think a lot of people will be interested in (maybe even on an exchange basis?).
  5. Looks pretty good - although I'm not sure what colour the suedette is with the flash! Is it black or dark grey?
  6. Hope so, but needs must. Hopefully I can blag a passenger ride in your beast when you're done tinkering with it
  7. Beautiful, Steve. Pretty much perfect, I think.
  8. If you're going to build the engine, I would suggest putting the stock VVTi motor aside and building a second non-VVTi as they are relatively easily available. In terms of "converting" to non-VVTi spec, most of the parts you need to upgrade to run a reliable single turbo setup will change in either case (radiator & diff, for example).
  9. If you are referring to aftermarket seats meaning "other models with OEM Recaros" (DC2, DC5, Evo), they all have an identical base pan which will suit a Supra rail. Recaros of these types are all manual.
  10. Fairy muff, my friend. I'm quite partial to Mahle pistons myself I know how frustrating it can be to order parts and have either the wrong ones delivered, or that needs change and the parts are now wrong - so I suppose better to order oversize and ensure things work out.
  11. Any particular reason you're going to 87 mm bore? Unless there are deep scratches, I was informed that, as 87 is the limit before you need to sleeve the block, it was best to keep as close to 86 as possible.
  12. Can you link us to the other thread, please? Firstly, whether you build *any* head depends on your goals. The 2JZ head flows well enough to produce 1000 hp without modification - but of course, porting/polishing/upgrading cams & valves will mean that you make more power for less boost. However, considering you are concerned with the VVTi head, the only extra considerations are the VVTi gear and the necessity for engine management controllability - which are not a problem these days. Depending on how many miles are on the motor, and how well-maintained it has been, you may want to at least clean, and refresh the seals, in the head. Exhaust cam upgrades will help with breathing for a single turbo, but you may not need to upgrade the VVTi cam. My car has made over 700 whp with a stock head and 264 exhaust cam on race fuel and 31 psi through a 71 mm.

    Assange

Clearly the UK is part of a larger co-operative law enforcement neighbourhood, but no-one is suggesting he isn't subject to a warrant (or, indeed, that he is even innocent of charges in Sweden). The bigger question is whether extraditing him will lead to his torture and possible death, and I think the evidence so far has given him good cause to be very very afraid. Simply handing him over without ethical or moral consideration is the same weak excuse given by war criminals - "just following orders".
  14. No worries, mate. Be warned that my mobile is with Vodaphone, so I have terrible reception

    Assange

While I agree in part to some of your sentiments (I think he will be found guilty of sexual misconduct in Sweden, but I suspect he behaved in a way that many men do in countries without strong anti-rape laws), I absolutely disagree with your assertion that the UK government has any obligation to "hand him over" to anyone. Irrespective of peoples' views of Assange and/or his actions, none of the players (Sweden, US, UK, Australia) has acted in a way conducive to believing they have transparently honourable intentions. In fact, Sweden has refused to deny they will hand him over to the US; the UK has threatened to remove the Ecuadoran embassy's status in order to remove Assange forcibly; the US has refused to deny they will charge him; Australia has essentially washed their hands of him, irrespective of his fate (we have had an Australian citizen, David Hicks, who was detained for 3 years at Guantanamo Bay *without charges*, in conditions the International Red Cross defines as "torture"). I don't care what people are accused of doing, we need to formally charge them and care for them in a humane way until their guilt or innocence is determined in an unbiased judicial procedure.
  16. Dude, you can borrow some 17s from me until winter
  17. This. While the poly bushes might be good compared to worn stock ones, only new OEM (or even TRD, perhaps?) will last for another 10-15 years.
  18. Love what you're doing to the car, Steve. Look forward to seeing it in the flesh again soon
  19. On second thoughts, it would be an excellent question to ask Rik on SF.com
  20. Sorry if it was confusing - basically, my wheels have the same overall width but a bigger offset, theoretically (because there is still an inch or so of caliper clearance to the spoke) I could have 20 mm more negative offset without compromising the caliper. Of course, I haven't checked the suspension clearance - but I would suspect the wheels you're considering will fit with rolled guards.
  21. My wheels have at least an inch of caliper clearance on the rears, so I would think that 14 mm extra offset *should* be ok.
  22. I'm running 295 x 30 R888s on 19x10.5 (+38) Rays GTS at the rear. Needed guards to be heavily rolled, but the offset is a little too positive for a Supra.
  23. Nice purchase, Geo. Also, very cool that you can get a group of mates to road trip with you to get it Reminds me of home, excepting the wholesale quantities of alcohol and lack of facial hair
