  4. Had some herbert knock on the door yesterday saying he was from Southern Water and wanted to query a bill. Looked the part with the company fleece an all. Thankfully the wife deals with all this household bills malarkey and I was'nt able to help him. Got the wife to call Southern Water today as she has'nt queried anything. They told her to report the incident to the police which I have just done. What I find really annoying is that I normally always ask for ID or a name but this time I did'nt. I would of love to of got hold hold of the little fucker thou:) Anyone else had this?
  5. Good thread this one. Doug I have often wondered about this one, if I woke up in the middle of the night & spotted someone trying to break into my garage, what would be the best course of action. Would I be able to either shoot him from the bedroom window with an air rifle, run downstairs with a handy mag light or possibly do the call the police thing. Trouble is by the time the police arrive they may have already left the scene. Ta Rich
  6. Thanks for the info Chris.
  7. Good stuff Chris. Location could be either sticks or small town. The wifes a paediatric nurse and knows of a couple of childrens hospices around this area. Budget is between £250,000 and £300,000. Property needs to be detatched with fair size garden to accomodate wifes allotment needs and I need at least a big single or pref double garage. I'll gladly supply any more info if required. Who needs Phil & Kirsty? BTW Chris is Mrs Gregory still doing the B&B in the old Manor up the road? Many thanks Rich
  8. Err, thanks for the advice fellas, looks like I'll have to do some more investigating:)
  9. The wife and I are thinking of possibly relocating to the N.Shrops area, Telford, Market Drayton, Wrexham, Wem etc. Are there any areas to be avoided? Have house prices started to fall yet? Many thanks Rich

  12. Hi all I know a few of you know about these things (Tom, Mike etc) and wondered if anyone can offer any advice over which camera to choose between. I currently use a compact (Pentax optio s40) and want to upgrade to an SLR alike, either the Fuijifilm S9600 or the Panasonic FZ18. Anyone have any experience of either? They seem to be pitched at the same level ish. However the main practical differences for me seem to be that the Fuiji uses AA bats but the Panasonic does not however the Panasonic does have image stabilization. All comments welcome. regards Rich
  13. Makes me feel glad that I don't fly a desk anymore:)

  19. I was at Goodwood motor circuit today where Mithril racing was holding a track day which included many cars aswell as Ferraris. None of the cars seemed to be going over 4k revs and I think it is quite common that you are not allowed to push the engines very much at all it seems. Might be worth asking? HTH Rich
