Indeed the car looks very nice with the facelight style lights. Jamie, are these a straight forward plug and play swap, or is there more to it than that?

After 9 months, 14 days, 11 hours and 23 minutes.............

I thought this was a new arrival to the family with the title. Glad you managed to eventually get things sorted out, and rightfully recieve some good news. On the front of claims though I have no idea.....but best of luck with it. -
Both are very nice cars that's for sure. In my personal opinion seeing as a brand new TT RS couldn't keep up with stock old VVT-i, I would go for the GTR everyday of the week. Although as you said performance wasn't to be discussed, perhaps the cheaper servicing and better network of AUDI would be more advantegous. GTR for me though....

Great to see some pictures of the work thats underway. Sounds like you have all the bases covered, going to be really nice when its done. Look forward to the next installment. -
I have to be honest as much as I am impressed with the technology that goes into the electronic dashes and displays, I just prefer the the old fashioned standard clocks. Nice and simple, cheap, and keeps the proper character of the car too.

Yes, I have lots of pictures of the car throughout my ownership. The engine was completely stock OEM when I bought it, and it remained that way in my ownership too. I was BPU'ing the car as the first set of modifications, and completing all the other upgrades to suit the improved level of performance too. I never actually completed the BPU, so the engine has never seen that level of tune. When I sold the car it had an uprated Walbro fuel pump, and NGK Iridium Performance spark plugs designed for BPU level can't remember the part code now. In my ownership of 2 years the following were carried out: - Service upon purchase including belts, and new tyres. M8 Speedo Conversion, and delimit. Rear reverse light converted to a fog light with dash switch. Private Plate purchase. 2 x services with Toyota OEM parts by myself (Silkolene Fully synethetic 0 to 40 watt oil used). 1 x set of iriduim Tough spark plugs, later changed for Iriduim Performance for BPU. Complete underseal and waxoyl back to the diff area, never completed the very back. Carpet removed and professionally cleaned. Focal rear speakers installed. Complete dynomat install back to front everywhere. Complete interior was flocked. Brand new NGK's BPU Plugs were installed. Brand new Walbro was installed. Brand new OEM panel filter installed just before sale. Brand new battery. Lots of other parts went on the car and came back off again, as I decided that I had started with the wrong vehicle for my ultimate goal.

Hi there buddy, and congratulations on picking up a very very nice car. I put alot of time effort and money into the car, and the base of which you still have just reverted back to OEM as I bought it originally (completely stock OEM). I always bought a Supra to tune it as a hobby, and after a year of trouble free motoring (when I actually drove it, as I always kept it garaged when wet and through the winter months) the journey of making into what I wanted began as I always wanted a big HKS Twin Turbo. Basically, I always wanted a 6 speed, but cost at the time and saving a few quid thinking of being sensible I bought as new a car in superb condition as I could, and rare too with the VVT-i and Tiptronic. Looked at lots of Supras at the time of purchase and nearly all of them were very ropey indeed, hence why I opted for a fresh import with me being the very first and only owner. I came to the conclusion that I was heading into the unknown with the car at the time as no one had really modified a VVT-i Auto before, and that coupled with my opinion that ultimately the automatic transmission would be a major issue too. I decided to sell, and buy a base car that has been proven to be easy to tune of the shelf so to speak. The car you now have will be superb at BPU level, very fast and very responsive, and a 6 speed will certainly struggle to match its pace due to the auto box. I hope that you have many years of happy motoring buddy, still a bit weird seeing pictures of the car that used to mine. I am glad that it's ended up in a good home, and with a fellow member too.

Looks like Noel and the team have done a great job there. Certainly looking forward to seeing it on the car. NB: Are you just looking for a bit of aesthetic appeal, or actually want to add a bit of cooling to the block too?

Had a knock on the door from the police about my car...

If your pictures are of a true represention how you normally park, I am not surprised you have been asked to move it. To me I find it astonishing that you feel that its quiet okay to leave it like it. Only my opinion though. -
Gaz, Can you tell me if these seats actually sit any lower compared to OEM and OEM Recaros? I really need to adjust my current seating position, and make the drivers seat as low as possible. Anything you can add would be greatful, as I have searched and searched and there doesn't seem to be a definitive easy straight answer anywhere.

Looking really nice indeed. The red really does look very nice when its cleaned up like that loverly. Good bit of precision parking there too, boy your close to that wall.

Have you wired the fuel pump in recently? (I wouldn't go jumping around to other things until you get this sorted first). Surely the only way this would keep running is if the pump is being given a direct 12 volts from the battery, effectively by passing the ignition circuit. Have you tried to pull/ change the fuel pump relay, perhaps this has become jammed in the 'on' position. Even if it had become jammed a direct 12 volt feed would still need to be present to allow the pump to keep running as you describe.

Great video - really enjoying watching these Jp. You don't often find any specific details on the HKS Twins, and especially don't find any videos of a car running them either. Best of luck Lee with getting the car sorted out just how you want it - your car is certainly an inspiration.
-
If I was lucky enough to have picked this car up. I would do a quick fix up using some decent parts as cheaply as possible, returning the car to as great a condition as makes financial sense. Then enjoy the car for what it is, whilst keeping your ear to the ground for nice car that's already been lovingly built by someone reputable. Best of luck with your new project, I am sure you will very much enjoy it.

Very good point well made! I believe that practice does indeed make as perfect as your going to achieve or at best allow you to make an informed decision/ correction. If you understand how the car will behave if all goes wrong, then it won't become to massive a shock to the system when it actually does. I tried to arrange skid pan training for the Southwest gang, but it turned out to be ridiculously expensive. Its a shame that the safe practice areas aren't made more affordable to the people who are genuinely interested in being safer on our roads.

If you are replacing high tensile steel parts, you need to make sure these are replaced like for like. If you replace them with normal stainless steel they will look very nice, but will not have the required material properties and are likely to break under any significant tensile/ shear strain etc. Brake components are a good example of this, if you have ever worked with discs and bells the components/ fixings are high tensile steel, not normal steel. Although to the untrained eye wouldn't look particularly different, you have been briefed/ warned. I hope this helps.
