  1. Hi all, I have checked the tech spec on oils as written by Alex. My question is this.... I picked up some service parts from my local dealer today, and was advised they did a good deal on oils over the phone at the time. I said as long as its fully synthetic, I would go for some in 10w 40w. Turns out now i have took it out the bags, its a 10w 40w Semi synthetic. Is this alright to use, or should I only go 5w 40w Fully synthetic only. The car is a stock vvti twin turbo, on 48k. Opinions? Many thanks
  2. Great up date. I bet your feeling better now its coming together, won't be long now
  3. Really nice that one. Properly quick cars I imagine when tickled a bit with the awd. Congratulations and enjoy

    opinions??

Cracking achievement in such a small space. Bet your glad its finished
  5. Loving the last picture of the Shelby Daytona. Sounds like a great event.
  6. Seeing as we have had a break in the bad weather of late. Fitted my decent stereo that's been waiting in the wings, removed some unnecessary wiring for hands free kit/ toyota japanese aerial booster. Removed the front and rear speakers, prepared the new ones ready for fitting tomorrow. Should make a world of difference - fingers crossed
  7. Awesome. Look forward to the feedback on how they perform. Well done achieving what many others fail to complete.
  8. Really like the blue chrome colour. Great to see you have decided on a path of resolution. I now have everything crossed for you, but have no doubt it won't be required. Very best of luck, and look forward to a happy ending.
  9. Some super elbow grease there, looking good. You got to love service with a smile, just a shame it wasn't you smiling at the end of it.
  10. Judging by that photo Rog, are they painting it by brush in underseal!
  11. Congratulations on getting this one back up and running. Will certainly be a shame to see another one off car getting sold, although it does seem to be inevitable for most simply due to the vast amounts of money involved in building/ keeping them going from a practicality point view. All the best with wherever this takes you, you will always have the memories. Plus if all else fails, you can give in and build another
  12. I know you say the car is in a garage, but... I would very strongly suggest that its not driven around with oil pressure that low. Before you know it you will end up with a knackered engine. I would strongly suggest stripping all the add on's off, fit a new oil pump and replace any faulty seals as you have found, then do a correct oil pressure test. This should be very straight forward indeed, can't believe the issues your having. I would have thrown the towel in ages ago, would hate to see things go bad again for you.
  13. Christ Rog, I just don't know how you keep up the enthusiasum. Look forward to the big reveal.
  14. Really enjoyed reading through your thread. The connecting pipes on the intake, and sprocket tooth were a bit of a shocker. I bet its cost you a small fortune carrying out all that work. Top effort and great thread for any owner, or indeed any prospective buyer too.
  15. Its unbelieveable the amount of hassle your having with the car/ build etc. I certainly hope it all comes good for you. I bet its cost you an absolute fortune so far
  16. If you mean your oil dip stick is displaying maximum fill, and you intend to add more oil that's not a good idea at all. Pretty sure that's not what you mean, but just incase it is don't go over the maximum. Too much oil is as bad as too little, and you will end up blowing seals. You need someone who knows what they are doing to look at it
  17. Looks excellent lots of very hard work gone into that. Really looking forward to hearing what you think of the performance once its all up and running.
  18. Great guide to inner workings of the tiptronic steering wheel set up. Certainly interesting, and an easy way to enable the fitment of aftermarket steering wheels I would imagine. Really enjoyed following the progress thus far
  19. Certainly looking very clean and tidy. Always a challenge with a black or dark coloured paintwork. I bet you can't wait to finally get it sorted. Fingers crossed for you
  20. In my opinion. If you know you want a 6 speed, save up and buy the right car to begin with. It will save you a whole load of hassle in the long run. Either way you choose to do it, its going to cost you a lot of money to do it right.
  21. Congratulations. Looks very nice indeed in second picture from the top. Super clean.
  22. Great write up, nice pictures too. Some great work done so far, looks really nice especially with the new wheels.
  23. Glad the nuts arrived safe and sound buddy. You need to get a side view with those lovely colours. Some great progress will look superb once finished
  24. You will be looking at Complete Custom Wheels (CCW) based in the USA. http://www.ccwheel.com/gallery.php They make some stunning wheels, with lots of variation. Personally a 10.5 j front, and a 11.5j rear will fit with minimal work. That's a huge foot print, and they will be 18's too. Much bigger is just daft Only my opinion though of course
  25. Congratulations on the purchase. The vvti tipronics do go well for what they are out the box. I have had and or driven all the variations of the oem twin turbo supra, and i wouldn't have anything else now. Simply for ease of everyday use, value for money, reliability, and a bit of rarity too. I love mine, sure you will enjoy yours too.
