Have you put a meter on the cores at the reverse strip light, to see what voltage you are getting during both times, when the ignition is on, and when you select reverse. This could be a start to solving the problem.

I was always told that a little germage is good for you, to build your defences up.

I would get a tracker also for piece of mind, rather than insurance costs.

Dont you have to pay a monthly/yearly charge for a tracker to keep it active? Is it cheap/expensive?

Ive just started to polish all of the bodywork inside the engine bay, It was a stained black oily colour, now its nice and crisp white, Loads to do to make the whole bay look clean though.

Ok, i just thought if the supply was coming from another source, it could be supplying maybe a small amount of current or something to light the LED's up dimly. But i dont see why the actual reverse supply would. Would a resistor work?
