  1. couldn't agree more, completely b@stardised Supra there .... IMO
  2. trouble is the J-spec go all mingy .... I'll welcome the extra weight thank you
  3. fwiw, autog/box need the correct grade and level of oil for correct operation, incorrect fluid levels can cause a number of issues in the way they perform, such as delayed changes, jerks between selections, rattling noise (if level is low) etc.
  4. The fitting price for CW is pretty good IMO, many back street will easily charge £200+ labour and do a poor job.
  5. Looks to be comming very nicely with good results, black's a great colour for the Supra!
  6. I am in Nottingham so could have gone to look at this one with you etc to offer a 2nd opinion. Also with your budget, if you can afford to run a TT model (not too bad to be honest) then keep looking at the classifieds and be patient and ready to travel. There used to be enough reasonable looking/sounding early TT models cropping up often for around £5.5K
  7. IMO ..... looks quite busy for my liking but I have seen far worse bolted to a Supra and I'm also a bit old fashioned and prefer a clean standard body styling wise.

    Hi i'm new

welcome try to get yourself a drive in a n/a and a tt model and then take it from there. If you are looking at a Supra for speed/pace then look at TT otherwise the N/A cars are also a great drive. As you are familiar with Toyota, reliability is a not an issue so just look out for the obvious and ensure the service record is good and upto scratch.
  9. My BMWs have always used about 1ltr every 1,000miles (approximately) with various mileages from around 15,000miles > 130,000miles. My Supra with 140K uses no oil even when driven at speed over long distances on the motorway. In fact, even my previous Supra and celica's didn't use any oil and they were driven very hard.
  10. I think with the number of Jspec's easily available many people happily opt for them, usually getting youngers cars for the money etc. I will guess that many will not know the differences between the Jspec & UK spec cars so as a result they may see UK spec cars to be overpriced in their eyes etc.
  11. The forum member I bought my Supra bought a GTR as his daily driver. He said that had the GTR not been launched, he would still be enjoying the Supra (he also has a Lambo Gallardo). He picked me up from the airport in the GTR, I have to admit it was an aboslute doddle of a car around town and on any road that was put infront of it. The engine revs matching the gears on down changes was and it genuinely seemed like a very well put together car with supportive seats and a overall comfortable environment. Would I buy one? As much as I admire it, Porsche 911 Turbo is where my money would go.
  12. I get occasional email from an european whose seen my car on the forum to ask if its for sale. Mine stock except wheels (got originals refurbed) and BPU (being done). Have no intention of b@stardising it with body parts etc though.

    Hi Everyone

congrats on what sounds like a very nice purchase. As mentioned, BPU doesn't cost much for what it is, but do it right and don't skimp on parts. Other than that I would not mess about with it.
  14. 1 x completely unb@stardised Supra
  15. Garage786 are not far from you if you need their help at all.
  16. It will be nice to hear views of tuners and owners about BPU, people can discuss what they need and perhaps how best to go about BPU to acheive this. My car is being de-catted due to a needy repair so I thought, well may as well go BPU but, don't skimp on parts and ensure its done right for suitability and reliability. If the power can be tuned in a manner to ensure the car remains driveable rather than be converted into a straight line dragster then that would be great too.
  17. What sort of power would be produced at 1.2 and 1.4 bar? The main thing that I want is for the effortless low down torque to be retained and the and all the components to remain reliable.
  18. If you doa search for Kieghly Trade Cars you will find lots of shocking information! I went to see a car at Jap Performance UK, car looked OK in person, but I was shocked at how traders could present a vehicle in a below par condition yet ask top whack and stand firm on the price and offer a 2 fingers attitude to a potential buyer. It would also seem evident that WRC, Jap Performance and Keighly Trade are all linked (brothers/cousins etc) all selling sheds. You should only look to get a car ideally from the forums classifieds or Jurgen or Garagewhifbitz both of which are in our authorised traders section. IMO, you'd be better off paying Jurgen a visit and having a chat and take it from there. He has a very high reputation on here so you can be assured you will get correct advice and a straight car.
  19. I looked at many kits but to be honest £60 Ebay stuff vs £97 for HIDS4U which are E/CE certified, digital ballasts with no interference, premium quality bulbs, 2 year no fuss warranty, 100% plug & play install, support and replacement items available as required..... makes sense to me.
  20. I got a HIDS4U.co.uk kit - very impressed with performance and quality at £97 + £5 delivery. They also offer bulbs separately for their kits should you ever find yourself needing a bulb in future.
  21. Well I'm about to hit 30! full NCB from the age of 18, clean record and I'm paying £850................ So I'd say your quote is quite decent as it stands.

    565bhp Hybrids?

I look forward to you all teasing and having some fun!
  23. I drove from Notts > Aberdeen to view. (Set off at 0:430am and arrived home around 11:30pm). Then flew up to collect.
  24. UK spec car with steel turbos. As it can be seen, I'm not a rev head and don't really need BPU upgrade but due to a repair the CATS will be removed and de-cats fitted so thought its best to just do the whole BPU things properly with all the associated parts.
