First start up happened this weekend with the man, the myth, the legend@Mike2JZ teamviewing in on the laptop to configure the ECU. Had a few mechanical teething issues as expected, but they were more annoyances instead of anything serious, luckily. IAT Sensor was being weird - prob a wiring issue so Mike bypassed it for now. Two oil leaks which consisted of blanking off a second oil feed hole in the block (doh!) and the second was a loose fitting on the feed pile which needed nipping up. I noticed some water leaking from the heater matrix pipe coming out from the bulkhead and suspected an air lock as the jubilee was super tight. I asked Mike to keep an eye on the engine temp and sure enough it got hot pretty quickly. Luckily Mike had managed to get done what he needed to do so we called it a day and I ditched the water in the radiator as I had wrongly brimmed the system with the car level, instead of having the nose up in the air. Tomorrow I'll fit the rear brake shoes and calipers so I can get the rear wheels on and drop the back of the car down. Once it's down I'll refill the cooling system and that should be sorted. Massive thanks for Mike for the help. Much appreciated.

She's really coming together. It's been a long time coming for you so it's a pleasure to be able to help with any parts where needed.

Glad to hear you got it sorted mate.

SOLD 1994 U.K. spec single turbo built manual
Big Supes replied to Crash Bandicoot's topic in Supra Classifieds
I hear you. Sometimes I undertake rebrands which involves de-wrapping. Something I do that might help is to pick up a decent sized corner on each panel you're removing and then slip on some gloves to do the pulling. It really saves the fingers. A steamer is also better than a heat gun. I think you're being very fair with the price considering is a built single. -

You don't need a VAT number as not everyone who is self employed is VAT registered. Maybe see if they can set you up a cash account. -

Long shot, but does anyone have one of these kicking around?

SOLD 1994 U.K. spec single turbo built manual

Last time I bought the Image Perfect solution, I bought it from Spandex. You might need to set up an account with them. It's quite expensive compared to the 3M, but worth the difference in cost, IMO. -
SOLD 1994 U.K. spec single turbo built manual

Just a heads up for anyone reading this later on down the line, it's worth using 3m or Image Perfect vinyl wrap remover solution if you're stripping a vehicle with potentially sensitive paint. Ignore what the bottle says and leave the solution on over night instead of the recommended 20mins. The wrap will fall off the following morning with the aid of a steamer. -
If you're worried about it fading, get it re-clearcoated with a decent lacquer. For now, if it's lacquered or finished in its original resin, just treat it like paint and it'll be fine.

Wastegates are on and connected up. ECU, AEM Wideband and IAT sensor are wired in. It was quite satisfying undoing my shitty wiring from 10 years ago (FCD). FMIC and pipework, completed. New radiator and temp sensor fitted. Air conditioning condenser is being left off until next year as I'm still waiting on a new Reciever. Jobs left to do... Run boost vacuum hoses for solenoid & controller, fill radiator, fit aux belt, fit seats, put dash back together, secure radiator when billet brackets arrive, cut down lower radiator hose to prevent kink, eventually change top rad hose for something that'll clear the IAT sensor. Block nipple on brake servo for TRC, delete charcoal canister, fit oil catch can, prime the turbo with oil and then cross every digit on my body. Once I know there's no leaks, etc, tidy up wiring, give everything a once over and then move onto the brakes.... 20mm hubcentric spacers are in the post so I hope to get the NUR wings I picked up from Delboy this week fitted. If all goes well, the wheels should clear the brakes. The UK rear brakes are back from being refurbished and I have new OEM discs to go with them. The next step after this is MOT and mapping....

Nice to tick off getting the gearbox in.

It was probably easier for toyota to spot weld the trans tunnel over bolting it, tbh. Nice bit of refurbing of the spoiler @evinX.

I haven't mate and K Sport no-likey returns. I'm picking up a pair of +20mm NUR carbon wings this Thursday from @Delboy52 so a pair of 20mm hubcentric spacers should do the job.

Sounds good buddy. It looks fantastic, we'll have to link up when both cars are on the road.
-
Gotcha. I've always thought that one of the perks of documenting everything on an owners club is verifying the car isn't a clone.

You're not too keen on your number plate for the silver one?

I remember my dad taking two years to paint the radiator in the lounge so you didn't do too bad.

You guys are ploughing forward with this. Cracking effort and it's awesome to see the old girl coming back to life.

Compressor housing is done and fitted. I've got a bit of a dilemma with my wheel and brake set up. I foolishly was under the impression the K Sports would be an easier fit than my UK brakes as they're slimmer, but the overall diameter of the disc and caliper seems to be the issue. Potential options.... 1) Drop down to a 330mm disc from the 356mm and hope the caliper brackets for the 330mm give me 13mm movement off the circumference. This along with shortening the bleed nipples would probably sort it. 2) Go 20mm hubcentric spacers and widebody front wings, but I'm a bit weary about the geo/castor though. My first mkiv had leary front wheels and it was like steering an oil tanker on tight bends. Another thing that puts me off is I'd want to widen the rear in the winter, but the rear wheel offset would require spacing.... a lot, which is a no-go. 3) See if I can return the brakes. 4)Sell the wheels. Edit: Option 5) contact SSR wheels for a price on two rims for the front with a different offset, swap the tyres over and bolt in the centre spokes. Option 1 seems the most logical, tbh. What an effin PITA.

Must have been satisfying cutting out that monstrosity of a trans tunnel.
-
That trans tunnel...... Wowzers. I'd probably look to cut out a trans tunnel from a donor car (oversized), if poss. I believe there's a chance a Supra was written off locally to me yesterday.
