  1. Personally, I think the Supra is a RWD car for experienced drivers. After crashing my first Supra (repairing it and selling it), I decided I needed experience in a more forgiving RWD car. As a result I went out and bought a 200sx S13. I've been driving it for nearly 2 years now and it's done me a world of good (restoring my confidence).
  2. My thoughts exactly, Tom. Yeah, it's definitely less than ideal to travel that far, but I intend to eventually convert this NA auto to a Aero 6sp TT. It's something I've wanted to do since, well... since I saw them in the U.S. This car (if it turns out to be ok) is perfect for the project.
  3. Ahh, I'm with you. Yeah, it's a bit tricky to see with the quality of the pics. Hopefully you're right about the protector. It certainly looks as if the protector could be to blame, but it's something to note. I text the guy today asking for more recent pictures with close ups of the interior, engine bay and the car in general. He said that once his girlfriend is back he'll get her to upload the pictures to his computer as he struggles to work his way around one. Seems like a genuine guy (for what that's worth) and he's confident that I won't be disappointed if I make the trip. Sometimes I think you've just got to take these chances.
  4. That's a good point... I hadn't realised that each picture only showed the driver side. Objectivity kinda goes out of the window when I want to just get in it and drive. :O Is there anychance you could specify in which picture it catches your eye? http://images.pistonheads.com/aimg/786/786954-9.jpg In this picture the top alignment looks to be ok, but I haven't owned one of these for a long time so I would trust someone who sees it everyday.
  5. http://pistonheads.com/sales/786954.htm Looks like I will be making a trip from Southampton to Northern Ireland to look at it... and hopefully bringing it back, if it's up to stratch. *crosses fingers* Just thought I'd check with you guys before I booked the tickets. Thanks in advance.
  6. This is encouraging. It's about time Toyota shifted their focus away from the shopping trolley market for a brief moment. To be honest, I'm just glad they made the Mk IV Supra. Anything decent to come will be a bonus.
  7. Agreed on the bonnet regarding a overall aggressive look. I also like the practical benefits of the vented/fibre glass/carbon bonnet. Look forward to the pics.
  8. Yeah, there's really no chance of fitting the "Penis Extension" inside the car.
  9. All noted, thanks for the additional heads up Terminator. If all goes well I'll be picking up the Supra (the one being converted) next week. Can't wait.
  10. Ok, I'll bare that in mind when looking for the donor car. This thread and the guides have been bookmarked! Fingers crossed for finding a good deal on a donor car.
  11. I was thinking about the odd light/panel/wheels/interior bits, but yeah, I doubt it would come to much. Right, I just need to pull my finger out and get this car I've seen for sale. Fingers crossed it hasn't been sold. Commence the breaking of the S13.
  12. Oh well, was worth a thought. TBH, I think I would be happier with just buying a wrecked 6sp TT donor car. There's swings 'n' roundabouts in price, but you can't beat it on parts. Also, who knows what extra money you could claw back from selling the additional parts that weren't used in the conversion.
  13. Ahh, I never thought of that.... Considering the long-term plans with the car, I'm not so sure the NA manual box would stand up to the power. Just out of curiosity, would the SZR (6sp) box be up to the job, I would you be in similar waters with the TT box in price??
  14. Those step by step guides look pretty informative. Thanks for the information, it's much appreciated. I'm definitely going to allow for additional budget for all of those extra things that come out of the wood work.... you're right about the unexpected items (bad experiences come to mind ). There's also the situation where possible modds could be done while the engine is out. I wonder how much a reasonably low mileage NA auto engine and box would fetch?
  15. Bolarbag: Okey... more expensive than what I would have hoped, but not the end of the world. I can relate to cars being worth more in parts. Sadly I would lose around £1500 if I sold my S13 complete so it's going to have to be stripped and sold for parts. Kinda demoralising as it took so much time and effort to put the parts on in the first place.
  16. Thanks for the post, bolarbag. Any idea of how much a wrecked donor car (6sp TT) would cost nowadays? Just pricing it all up at the mo.
  17. What does the trans tunnel mod entail, Homer? I've had engines in and out many times on my driveway. It's never easy, but I don't have any alternative. Will definitely plan to do this in the summer.
  18. Awesome. Thanks for the feedback. I've found the perfect Aerotop for the job (at the right price, aswell) so I think it's time to get the ball rolling... haha the beauty of "search".
  19. Hi Branners. I'm currently thinking about doing this, but converting a NA Auto to a 6sp TT. The current plan is to try and get hold of a wrecked 6sp TT donor car and then transfer the bits I'll be needing. Any idea of how much wrecked 6sp TT go for nowadays? Thanks

It was immaculate... this picture wasn't long after a full respray. It's strange you mentioned about the spots... they came with the bumper from Titan Motorsports. I never really liked them, although they looked nice at night (the odd time they were on). Oh well, they're someone else's problem. Thanks Vicky. I saw you guys at JAE this year ( I was there with the SXOC). I had a good drowl over your stand. :yummy:

Newbie here. Name's Adam. I previously owned a Mark IV Supra around 4 years ago, but sadly had to sell it due to financial circumstances. It was my P&J: To be honest, to this day I've missed it like hell and have always wanted to get another one... which brings me here. Currently driving a S13 200sx which I've invested a lot of time and money into (kidding myself I wouldn't get a Supra again), but I think it's time to either sell it or break it. Also own a Renault 5 GTT which will also go to bring back the Supra dream. Look forward to hopefully meeting some new peeps on the board and owning a proper car again. Adam
