  1. Check your vin plate and make sure it says 2JZ-GTE for an engine code, also check that the trans code says V160. (K reg car) That way you know you haven't bought something that has been converted from a NON turbo or auto trans.
  2. ....this forum was all fields .
  3. Yeah, what do you mean by roughly? Is there an exact science to it?
  4. Im slightly more relieved. So im not a total fuckwit? I did read the tsrm. But this noise had/has me worried.
  5. I pushed it fully back 2 prominent clicks. The face of the TC was deeper than the bellhousing.
  6. ok so I put the engine and autobox together and put them in the car a few weeks ago, today I went to put the bolts through the flexi into the torque converter so I was turning the crank to get the holes to marry up but the torque converter kept turning also... then suddenly with a jolt something gave way. After this everything went together easily and without problem. I cant start the car until my engine bay loom arrives. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Should I expect to take the autobox off again? Bollocks:(
  7. In that case Hi again and welcome... lots of "fallen brethren" in the last few years, there is a thread somewhere with similar title.
  8. Caesard has one MINUS the headlight connectors which he was going to sell me, but he wouldn't give me a price. Wanted an offer. So he might be worth a PM. I eventually got one off Dude which he is removing for me today.

  14. TT auto throttle control ECU is in the passenger footwell but what I need to know is the loom that attaches to it... is it an ad on to the dash loom? or Bay loom? All I know is that has to go to the TRACTION button in the dash. Also has anyone got this part of loom? cheers I don't think this qualifies as a MKiv technical but feel free to move it.
  15. Hi all, strange request I know my NA canister had 2 hoses coming out of the top but now that ive done a TT conversion my TT canister has 3 pipe/hoses could some one take a pic of the area of the engine bay of their TT showing where the hoses go please? saves me plumbing it in wrong and running into problems. Ta
  16. I just read sunny that you were LATE for the 9:30 meeting.....! Have you ever actually been on time for anything mate?
  17. ive often noticed your posts with going manual (R154 iirc) then going auto then wanting a built autobox etc, now it all makes sense. Great work looks awesome, I admire your commitment, wish I had more time just to work on mine
  18. If so every time I phone him I always leave a message and never hear from him again..
  19. is that Steve Manly by chance?
  20. pilot bearing in crank perhaps? just a stupid guess..
  21. I know the TT one has more soleoids than the NA one. Large grey plug on the passenger side of the tranny controls the solenoids and the TT one has more wires. So my guess would be due to space needed inside the tranny (for solenoids) the filter/strainer design had to be altered.
  22. Nice one, made a vid of the NUrburgingringing
