Nokia N95/N96 Powered Car Entertainment System and Sat Nav Used the TV feature of my handset and Garmin Mobile XT to provide Sat Nav. The Sat Nav works well and I can change music tracks too while it is on. A few mod specific pictures EDFC Controller Expertly placed after a discussion with Steve from Charlesworth Motors in what I think is the perfect place for it! http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/edfc.JPG I have the following settings P1 = Front 14 Rear 14 (Soft) P2 = Front 10 Rear 12 (Medium Hard) p3 = Front 03 Rear 04 (Hard) The Tein suspension totally transforms the beast! Exhaust Sytem T304 Full 3" Stainless Steel system and decat with Dual 4.5" Tailpipes. Sounds wonderful outside the car, yet really quiet inside. Also has some baffles that can be used to quieten it down further so it sounds almost exactly like stock (but I have never felt the need!) http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/exhaust.jpg You tube Video: 5t89jbOO3As Boost Controller Very good boost controller that holds a strong and constant 1.2bar. Can be hidden by closing the ashtray too http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/hksevc5.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/hksevc52.JPG HKS Camp 2 Full car monitoring system. Hi guys, Well I have decided I fancy a change so I am now looking to sell my BPU Toyota Aristo V300. Well since I have had it, I have spent an absolute fortune on it! I will break down what has been done: FIX EXISTING FAULTS: Fix Yellowed headlights Replace Tie-Rods Replace rear suspension arms with genuine new parts (cost £1000! :o) Replace crap standard brakes BRAKES TRD Basic Big Brake Kit (4-pot Supra calipers) 3G/Brembo 20-R Supra sized Brake Discs all round Hawk 'Brembo Spec' Brake pads imported from the US Custom-made Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake hoses Motul Dot 5.1 Brake Fluid Red paint SUSPENSION TRD AntiRoll Bars TOMS ARS Cancellor Bar Tein Flex Coilovers with car lowered all round. Tein Spring sleeves Tein EDFC Controller fitted neatly below drivers side vent Tein Front Strut Brace Rear Strut Brace Front Underchasis Brace EXTERIOR 18" TTE Sport wheels (8.5J front and 10J wide rear) Verdestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres (brilliant!) INCAR ENTERTAINMENT Digital TV Phone powered entertainment system with Sat Nav, Internet, videos and music from Nokia phone INTERIOR Hard wired phone charger Leather phone holder Genuine TRD Gearkob Chrome shifter suround Lexus Sports Pedals HKS Camp 2 Tein EDFC Controller fitted below drivers vent HKS EVC 5 Boost Controller fitted into modified ashtray As you can see a HELL of a lot of work has gone into my car over the past year. It pulls like an absolute monster now. I would go as far as saying it is scary fast top end. I was with a mate in his Evo 8 FQ400 a few weeks back and off the line you have no chance of beating him, but we tried on a quiet private road with a rolling start from 50mph and his car just could not pull away! The Evo FEELS so much quicker, but the Aristo really now is stupidly quick at motorway speeds - only trouble is you don't realise that you are tearing up the tarmac because it doesn't shout about it!! BALLISTIC CAR! Also because my car has a SMIC in very good condtion, it operates more efficently then a poorly ducted FMIC and my in-take temps are very good. The HKS Camp 2 I decided to use instead of sticking guages etc on the car because the Aristo I don't think looks right with bits stuck all over the dash! I wanted the car to retain a stock like look so the boost controller can be hidden by closing the ash tray and the EDFC is neatly installed and easy to adjust in its location under the drivers vent - it looks like it belongs! The HKS Camp 2 does give the car a skyline GT-R kind of feel to it - its really cool and links direct to the ODB2 port on the car so I can view loads of diagnostic info and also connects to additional HKS sensors I bought to monitor boost, temps etc. Got a lot of pictures to follow and got some youtube vidoes of my car exhaust and the phone-powered system too http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/1a.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/1.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/2a.jpg http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/2.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/S1031625.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/3.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/4.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/5.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/6.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/7.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/9.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/8.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/10.JPG http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/11.JPG MOT - August 2009 Road Tax - August 2009 Mileage - 72300 Arch Lever file full of History (including Jap History BARGAIN PRICE: £7500

Finally cracked it!!! Even though my switch said SW on the back, on the screen it still said --P--; I tried advice given to me on supra forums about changing the boost controller over to SW (internal wastegate) mode and despite the switch on the back being set to sw (which I believed meant, the boost controller wouldn't go into --S-- mode. I kept trying with the following: I carried out the above advice a few times and everytime in the top left hand corner I saw --P-- even with the switch on SW at the back, but I kept trying and FINALLY it said --S-- and it now appears to be working!! I have left Mod A at 0% which equates to 0.9-0.95 bar (basically stock) I have set Mod A to 42% with equates to 17.4psi (I will fine tune this so I can get it set to 18psi) THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP, especially Tricky-Ricky for the patience!

Still not working. /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_sad.gif I am getting fed up with it all now! Today I made sure all my connections were neat and I capped things off alot better http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/vsv1.jpg http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/vsv2.jpg But no matter what I do the car still seems to overboost when the second turbo comes on. I have set both mode A and mode B to zero 0 which should be a 0% increase over the stock baseline boost setting but I still get very high boost. My car has one decat in and a 3" Catback exhaust, and before boost controller was installed boosted to about 0.9 - 1.0bar. I am beginning to think the boost controller is faulty; even if I change the hoses for Port O and I over, do a master reset the boost controller still doesn't hold boost. I also wanted to ask people that have a HKS EVC5 if the flashing red power button is normal when the controller is powered on? http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/redlight.jpg Does it indicate a fault?? The manual also mentions adjusting the boost offset, which I am supposed to be able to get into by pressing MOD for more then 1 sec from the main screen so I enter the display settings mode and then press MOD again for more then 1 second. Everytime I do this the boost controller does not go into offset; it moves onto a different screen. Grrr!!!! I have read the manual and followed the steps it suggests with no success. I really don't want this controller to be faulty, because I have the screen nicely fitted inside my ash tray after hacking my ashtray to make it fit! :(

Cheers mate. I tried every local motor factor (thats 5 including Halfrauds) for some caps and no one had anything I willl just use a bot in a piece of silicone pipe for now, but I'll order these to make everything neat once I know the boost controller is working properly.

Boost Controller setup was halted today when I opened the bonnet and saw this: http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/broken.jpg Nursed the car home again and today I decided that rather then get a stock part from Toyota I'd rather get some reinforced Silicone Hose to replace it. Decided on a 90 degree elbow reducer (76mm - 63mm), a 45 degree 63mm elbow and two aluminium metal hose joiners; oh and some jubilee clips and a super strong T-bolt clip. Excellent Service and help from Auto Performance Silicone in West Yorkshire Got home and compared to my standard part and started joining my pipes together: http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/stock.jpg Cut them down: http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/cutdown.jpg After some playing and tightening up the hoses I think it looks rather good and I have peice of mind that pipe aint going anywhere!!! http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/fitted.jpg I also used some hair spray on the inside of the silicone hose (which is a tip I read about). Hopefully I never have problems with that pipe again!! Now to get this Boost Controller functioning properly! Anees

Thanks for your patience mate!! This is the first time I have ever had a go at doing something like this! I will try and get some caps locally today and cap everything off properly. If I can't find any then would, adding a bit of silicone pipe with the end blocked off do the same thing? I was looking last night at Supra forums and found some with a really useful post where they had taken step by step pictures of their HKS EVC install. The thing is they had their Port O and Port I connected the oppositve way round to mine.. Post #20 http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=184231

Just had a thought (Uh Ho ) http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/hksboost4.jpg

Thanks for the replies. The Wastegate is set to SW (Internal Actuator) @Tricky-Ricky -mate, is the 2nd Actuator feed the pipe in the second picture I posted connected to the bottom of the actuator? If so, then that is capped off

Thanks for the help so far but something doesn't appear to be right I keep getting run away boost when the second turbo comes online and have hit as high as 20++psi before I noticed. The Boost controller is set to warn at 125KPa (1.25bar) and I wanted to have two boost settings 100Kpa (1bar) and 120KPa (1.2bar) but everytime I try and go for a run the car makes alot more boost I have taken some pics and of what I have done, could someone please take a look and see if they are correct. I am wondering if I have port O and I plumbed the wrong way round? http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/hksboost1.jpg http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/hksboost2.jpg http://www.ranatech.co.uk/aristo/hksboost3.jpg Can anyone spot what I have done wrong? Thanks, Anees

Are these the same as the Brembo Spec Pads that Dusty Sells and rates so highly?
-
Thanks Tricky Ricky. I get easily confused! LOL I shall try again, but I might have some more basic questions!
-
I have been trying to install a HKS EVC5 to my Aristo and am confused. In the diagram it says O goes to the pressure reference source and I to the actuator, yet in the text (post 26) its the other way round? Any help appreciated? Also, basic question here, but if the Boost controller is only pumbed into the turbo at the front, how can it control overall boost? Surely with two turbos their are two actuators and two wastegates?
-
Whole family voted NO - I made sure of it! Glad its not come in, but as Robert says unfortunetly I bet they will try again at some point in the future........

I personally wouldn't go near TDi with a bargepole after what I have heard about them. I have used for many years Drury Lane Service Station in Oldham. http://www.drurylaneservices.com/geometry.htm They were one of Tony Bones (Wheels-in-motion) Trusted centres before the scheme ended and have a good reputation on Lexus Owners Club.

You may as well save money considering the price difference and get a WRX and then spend the savings on mods to make it faster then an STI
