  1. How have I only just seen this, what a fantastic build . Got a 944 S2 myself with the Supra, never thought of combining the two...........until now
  2. Good post, I think for most it's becoming all about the nostalgia now, which is no bad thing, hell, I want a 911 3.2 with whale tail, which in all fairness is a bit of a rubbish car compared to the rest of the 911s, but I'm still desperately drawn to them. Oh and unoriginal, yeah, that's me, hell I got a fresh import TT6 and stripped it to create mine, then sold it.............as an N/A
  3. It's like you took the words straight from my mouth, personally I expect to see the crash next year, especially on the likes of Porsches, they have risen too much, too fast, the market can't sustain it. One of the guys I work with picked up a nice 997.2 2-3 years ago and he's now being offered more than he paid for it , it's nothing special, just a standard Carrera.
  4. Mine didn't have winter tires, but I never found myself stuck, that being said, I stuck to gritted roads, once I tried to stray to an un-gritted road and it did bring the car abruptly to a halt .
  5. Stay away from the 520, look at the 525/530/535, the 3.0 litres engine is where you want to to be, the 520d's have timing chain issues, sound like a tractor and slow as hell, depressingly slow. I had an E60 525d a few years ago and it was a great car, comfy, cheap to run, looked great(may have changed wheels and lowered it slightly ), all I would recommend is getting some swirl flap blanking plates to make sure you don't suffer that problem, garage only charged me £30 to fit whilst it was in for a service.
  6. Remember that you can't get a mortgage for buying land/building a house, so you would need to pay for it all.
  7. Don't know whether to say congrats or commiserations Still got the Porsche, will put it up for sale this year though, never got round to get one of the new Mustangs, needed something more work friendly so got an E Class on lease, got given my fathers old '69 Mustang though(something that I will hold onto for life), and picked up a C6 Corvette. There's loads of N/A's on Dragonball, nothing to be worried about
  8. Ric, you need to get yourself on Dragonball, can do the drive down to Ashford with us other Yorkshire guys
  9. Handbags at dawn it is my good sir . I don't think I would either, not if I'd never had one before. That was a crazy time, I wish I'd kept all my Supras now, I remember when I owned 3 at the same time, should of just left them, the 2 N/As sold for bugger all. Interesting that one of the key points is future value, I wonder how many Supras are currently being bought for solely this reason. Agree completely, it's a absolutely cracking car, bang for buck the best car I ever had was my mk1 MX5, nothing has ever come close for fun factor to that. Anything with an LS engine? Hemi engines? I know someone with a B16 stock block with more than double the power and still takes it to the strip most weekends, I've also seen pretty crazy figures put through the 996 Turbo engines, plenty of cars can do it, the biggest tuning marvel of the Supra was the V160/V161 gearbox, that's where others fall down, don't get me wrong, it's a fantastically tune-able engine, it really is, but it's not the only one.
  10. Go on the best lease deals thread on Pistonheads, that thread is constantly up to date with the best deals.
  11. R34 prices are just crazy, I have no idea why people pay that much, always preferred a midnight purple 33 GTR anyway, especially now they are a fraction of the price.
  12. We get it, you're a horny b@stard, you don't have to keep repeating it
  13. Looks like a really nice example.
  14. Yeah, but is yours doesn't even have the engine in its original place , my question to you would be, would you buy it again if you were buying a standard car for nigh on £20k?
  15. Alex_gt has now removed his post, shame, I was hoping for some sort of witty come back to my rebuttal, I'm just glad I managed to quote it beforehand Anyways, I was hoping someone would post that is a new buyer that's purchased a TT6 at their new inflated prices, I'm not saying they shouldn't buy one, I'm just interested to know where this demand is coming from, most who have replied bought their cars in the days when (bar singles) all Supras were mainly going for less than £10k
  16. Oh really? To be honest, I've never properly looked into them, doesn't surprise me though, is it a decent thing to drive when it does work? Always struck me as one of the best all rounders you can get.
  17. I feel we're approaching the outcome I expected from this post
  18. Yeah, I'd be looking at 2013ish models, probably have to re-mortgage to run the damn thing. What I do keep coming back and looking at though is a Golf GTi, borrowed a friends last weekend and had a whale of a time, quite like those new clubsport ones as well, fun, comfortable, cheap to run, great for city use, they really do seem to get all the boxes ticked.
  19. I may regret saying this , but have a drive of mine on Dragonball, after having a LHD manual for a little while, it's surprising how much more natural it feels, especially with your more 'agricultural' gearboxes.
  20. You all do realise I still like the Supra? If I sell mine it would be getting replaced by a standard one. I'm just interested to know what draws new buyers to them now, especially with the climbing prices, a lot of us had the days where nice clean low mileage TT6s were £10k, those days have well and truly gone, now they are starting to approach £20k.
  21. Oh, I forgot the shit personality, that's the remnants of Blackie still haunting me!
