  1. Today has been an awesome day! First task was to head to Halfords and buy a new HCB005 calcium battery. I then headed out to the car. Got the heater box pipes on after lots of pain (had to file open the little cover plate slightly as a bit of a clip was fouling it and proving difficult to move). After doing this I - for the first time since July!!! - put in the key and turned it that first click. Having just done the heater matrix and reassembling the dash the day prior, I was pretty nervous about this. Everything lit up as normal though and the windows worked, the lights worked, central locking even worked now (it didn't unlock before)!! Very chuffed by this point! Got the A/C cover plate back on (despite removing the A/C) and connected up all of the hard pipes to the FMIC. Next thing was to fit the airbox I bought from Ryan G. It is an NA box so the opening is the right size, however the shape is different to the TT box and does not clear the intercooler pipe. The stock TT airbox is fine though (I had one of them on previously). Cue me buying a Pipercross Carbon Fibre induction kit (seems pretty good quality, though pricey at £179!):- With that on, there was nothing to stop me from now trying to start up the car except for petrol! It was low when it went into hibernation and so most had evaporated/sunk to the bottom and went slushy! 10 litres later and it was time to turn the key! MEGA nervous now! mQthsJu6ZHc The heating works! All lights are on fine! It's idling fine! Everything is as it should be! Decided to test the brakes - popped it into reverse and away it went without hesitation or any issue! Got it out onto the (private) street and took it up and down a few times, braking harder each time to clear them up a bit! Noticed the temperature gauge begin to rise and so got back into the driveway and checked under the bonnet - a whistling was coming from a water hose. The top intercooler pipe had also popped off. Got the IC pipe back on and will tackle the water pipe as soon as! Once that is done I need to fit my new orange blobs, fit new bonnet cables, ground the rear foglight and fit the passenger seat. Then it is MOT time! MEGA MEGA MEGA happy! So relieved! Here are the pictures of it back in the driveway:- The last question now is whether to put the badge on or not! :- :D :D :D
  2. That's exactly the bit I'm needing. Well, bits! Know the part numbers?
  3. 1) I thought it might be something to do with cruise control as well to be honest. Can't think of any other reason for anything being attached to the clutch?! 2) From Jezz's guide:- The black one on the left. This is all on the driver's side btw. 3) I thought maybe an ABS related thing as Marc's car is an SZ-R and so has an ABS unit down next to the ECU so would have a connector sitting there when his conversion was done? With mine being an SZ and having no ABS, it may be just left disconnected as all TTs came with ABS didn't they?
  4. Ah right, not sure if I'll aim for that as I will get carried away with the car when I should be doing coursework! After exams in May is when it'll be getting my full attention!
  5. Yeah I know man, almost looks like what I bought huh? When is the meet?
  6. Well, I'm pretty pleased with the work done last night! Marc came round at first so we put in the heater box and crash bar and had a look at the back of the dash:- Kieran then arrived and we put the dash back in:- A little bit (lots of) persuasion had the connectors put back together and all of the bolts and screws in their relevant places. A carpet and dash panel refitting later and the car looks like this again:- :D :D :D Muchos happiness! Took from about 6.30 until 11 with an hour break for dinner in between. This was with a couple of walks back and forth to Marc's car to double check the wiring around the ECU for reference Next on the list of things to do:- Ground the rear fog Receive and fit new bonnet cables so that I can put the interior side of the catch in the right place again Fit the seats Connect the pipes to the heater box on the dash side and screw on the heater and A/C plates Check jubilee clips securing FMIC Put on arch liners Fit new orange blobs Secure headlights and reconnect all bulbs Fit battery Hooray! Then assess the brakes! Seems like a big list but it isn't at all! Nothing difficult anyway!
  7. Right, almost finished putting everything back together with the heater matrix and having a bit of a headache with a couple of connectors! First one is right above the clutch pedal. Cross checked it against Marc(AB10)'s car and his doesn't have this whatsoever?! Next one is on the driver's side behind the instrument panel (slightly to the right). There is the big white connector which is now connected but also the small black one. The black one seems to be taped up and not free. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to put it either?! Last one is down next to the ECU in the passenger footwell. I'm wondering if it is something to do with the FCD or SLD? As checking against Marc's car, the loom is different there due to them! Or is it possibly for ABS? Keeping in mind that my car was originally an SZ non turbo so has no ABS, LSD, Cruise Control. Any help greatly appreciated!
  8. What is the going rate for a black carpet and roof liner with visors?
  9. If that is what this owner has done then that works fine by me, was just curious as to whether the red cluster was a factory thing or not. Cheers
  10. Hey mate, Any fully working bonnet cables? Mine seem to be non responsive!
  11. I was hoping this would be of the same ilk as the orange blobs in that everyone would rather have clear! *le bump*
  12. I was fixing a broken hatch light on my mum's Ford Puma yesterday afternoon and took a look back over at the Supra as I was doing it. The Puma hatch high level brake light is a red cluster with clear bulbs. The one on the Supra is clear with red bulbs/LEDs. I wondered if they did a red rear cluster for the Supra and - by total coincidence - spotted a silver Supra yesterday afternoon with a red cluster As can be seen here:- I have a clear high level brake light. What I'm wondering is - is anyone willing to straight swap their red cluster for my clear cluster?
  13. A few more iPhone pictures that I took today:- Can't wait to finally get it out of that driveway Managed to sort the uneven bonnet issue so no longer require a new hinge Making a proper start on putting the inside back together tomorrow afternoon - can't wait :D
  14. Finally getting everything put back together following the removal of all things dash following my heater matrix hiccup. Have spotted this Denso connector and I can't remember where it goes. Any help greatly appreciated! (I think it's on the heater box at the bottom but I'm not certain!)
  15. http://images1.memegenerator.net/ImageMacro/6896894/veilside-bumper-y-u-no-non-existent.jpg?imageSize=Medium&generatorName=Y-U-NO "Personal preference" is the key to comments in threads. I detest that kit, though I can't fault the cleanliness of the car.
  16. Q3 HD is the gospel dude
  17. This is falling right in the middle of my exams so I wouldn't have managed along anyway
  18. Sounds spot on dude. Keep one pair aside for me if ya can Rob, got some other things to pay for first before the Supra gets the love it deserves You know what I mean by the pop yeah? Was gutted when we (myself, Marc(AB10) & Kieran (monsween)) noticed!
  19. Cracking looking car, so much better than when you got it! Best of luck!
  20. Much you needing for just the drivers side one dude? Does it 'pop' at all or is it in perfect working order?
  21. Orange front indicator blobs? Driver side bonnet hinge (perfect working order)? Headlight fitting bracket and screws (currently only held in by the bolt at the top)?
  22. Very kind Scott thank you, I won't take you up on it though as I'll be a wee while yet in getting everything together (brakes needing seen to, dash to refit etc.) around Uni exam time so I'd have them for a fortnight on a car sitting doing nothing in the drive before sending them back to you Cheers for the offer though Shall do
  23. I sold the old lights and then the new ones arrived sans brackets
  24. Hey folks, Needing a couple of bits for the car. I bought a set of bonnet hinges from Keron a while back but the driver side one seems to be knackered a bit as it 'pops' as the pin reaches a certain point. It stops the bonnet from closing properly. It is raised up at that corner by quite a bit like this:- So yeah, need a drivers side hinge. I'm also needing some new orange blobs, as the original ones cracked when being removed from my old bumper. Not interested in clear ones, orange all the way The other thing I'm needing is the little bracket that allows the headlights to be fitted. The only way they are secured at the moment is by the single bolt next to the centre of the bumper. The 2 on the outside nearest the wings are needing the plate and the screws that stick out. Anyone?
