  1. strangely enough my old na 5 speed i sold to keron when i got the TT is now back up or sale as a shell! .. debated it for a second but being i sold it for less than half of the price its up for sale for the debate didn't last long ha!
  2. even so, its still not rocket science!
  3. Not sure how you can do it badly to be honest its nuts and bolts. shame its biased your opinion but duly noted! exactly that, i miss the connection. very true. i don't intend to sell it, unless the market suddenly booms and i can sell for enough for an nsx. probably would but im not looking at converting to 6 speed!
  4. interesting comments guys, not going to quote everyone. But yes the 6 speed would be a no brainer if i had 5k sat about doing nothing, however i don't and granted it may be cheaper to buy a manual supra from scratch but.. that's not really an avenue i wish to go down. Being that i don't drive it like i stole it i don't think i would be worried about a w58 breaking, seen a fair few examples that had been converted still running years on so they cant be that fragile. as for flappy paddles, i had considered this and to be fair may be an option. But im not entirely sure it would scratch the itch.
  5. seriously considering converting my auto to manual, love the auto box but starting to really miss the manual. had a 5 speed na and loved it. if i convert my TT to a w58 will i be shooting myself in the foot should i in the future sell? car is bpu but otherwise completely stock. opinions?
  6. I'd be treating it like a paint job prep is e erythig. As for carbon, I'd go hydro dip personally.
  7. mines a 94 TT and would fail without cats if my mot place weren't "friendly"
  8. before this thread came up id been debating this, my paint work from a few feet looks fine from 5 ft looks great.. close up you notice all the swirl marks and a few places the lacquer is failing.. for me its a going to be a nice tidy up whilst saving for a full respray, no point f***ing around getting a 21 year old paint job machine polished and touched up in my opinion. as a stop gap i think this stuff could be great.
  9. well that explains alot, perhaps its an underlying problem with just skim reading things.
  10. remove a small plastic cover on the front of the seat and iirc a its a 10mm socket, wind in or out. if seat moves at all and only 1 side is sticking try and use the electric seat to move the other side so you stay straight.
  11. blimey. being head hunted haha. and if you click the little blue bpu .. it will tell you what a bpu supra is
  12. that would be me mate, [email protected], give me a message
  13. thanks guys! i know its really lazy but i had hoped it would be plug and play, nothings ever as easy as you want it to be.
  14. Hi all, had today off work so did a few bits to the car, being i have had a fmic and walbro fuel pump sat in the kitchen for months now i thought i would crack on and fit the pump! I bought it from a member on here ages ago, but reading the instructions on fitting it, it would appear i should have got a "new wiring loom" with it. I dont! just the actual pump! any ideas where i can get one from?
  15. well this chap whopped a v10 there. so i would imagine a lot if you have the time to do it! Got to admit i really hanker for a v8 supra, to the point ive considered selling the gte engine to fund it.
  16. i have whifbitz hybrids on mine, double decat and nur spec R, with a RR and a blitz dual spec boost controller. Yes i would say it will certainly overboost, despite the turbo's maybe managing to run 1.4 bar, i personally would never take mine above 1.2 bar the .2 increase doesn't seem worth it to me. go single if you want to upgrade, if not in my opinion stick at bpu and enjoy
  17. i have a full set of pulleys sat in the shed came with my car as spares incl crank if you are interested. however if you are not and decide to buy new, for the love of god dont buy an un dampened one. Previous owner to me did that to mine, im sure paul whiffin will tell you i spent a small fortune with him replacing everything it had damaged.
  18. get an older one, go classic, my 94 TT costs me £176 a year with all mods declared .. i am a touch older than you (29) but still, my mk2 polo 1.0 costs more to insure.
  19. Annnd back to worrying!. Best way to check?
  20. Hmm well I need to speak to him tommorow and find out if it was definitely white, seems unusual after 5 miles of running that when second turbo kicks in and I change gear it would still be steam or condensation. Thanks for the replies guys, feel a little less worried now
  21. P.s why would it smell oily, fuel i get as its double decat but oil is a bit alarming!
  22. I see. Thanks! Listy crank was replaced whilst the rest of the work was done so I can't imagine it could be that, will jack it up tommorow and check for any signs of oil, looked clean other than the underside of the intake pipe .. Very odd.
  23. So was driving home being followed by my boss, a bit of spirited acceleration onto the dual carriageway nothing crazy only to about 90. He messaged me to say there was a puff of white smoke and a smell of oil as I changed gear. I thought this odd so had a look over the engine bay, under the smic pipe from the engine down was black ish oily crud. Could this be a turbo oil sill? Not going to lie I will be pretty pissed if it is as I had hybrids put on by whifbitz last august, the car is at standard boost and has coverd less than 1000 miles.. Pootled about with the odd little blast. Any ideas input would be great..p.s it was compression rtested valve stem sills etc done whilst with whifbitz.
  24. Whifbitz did mine. Best bet as other say send it to someone who knows what they are doing. That's what I did, granted it ended being more expensive than I hoped, but now I know my car is refreshed and don't need to worry about anything major
  25. My bottom end went, I had lots else done including vale seals hybrid turbos etc.. Cost me just shy of 6 grand. I could dig out my invoice but from memory would be around 2.5 / 3k depending on what exactly needs doing.
