I honestly find it hard to believe you're old enough to have been driving for 12 years and yet you still manage to write posts which are so hard to read. Have you ever stopped to think for long enough to realise that the reason people don't criticise Jamiep is that he has alot of respect on the forum. There are very few people, myself included, who wouldn't like to be able to afford the cars he can and be able to control them the way he does. I would imagine that you are as jealous of this as I am. I don't however, understand you're reasons for trying to turn attention to yourself when you have gained nowhere near the amount of respect that he has. Was fine for me. I got offered a mortgage of upto 187,700, but at an interest rate of 6.2% from C & G through an independant advisor. I then got a better deal from the post office at 5.85% fixed for five years. This was with a 10% deposit. Thanks for your help . Very useful link, i was just going to head for yell.com. Haven't had any literature as the mortgage approval was all carried out online. I'll have a ring round a few of the solicitors in the morning and see if I can get some prices.

After make four offers on a house i'm interested in I finally managed to agree a price with the owner today. I started off with a cheeky offer of 105k on a 140k house, and we settled at 127k. Still thought I did well to get 10% off as it was already very cheap for the area. Both nervous and excited now. I can't wait to get in there and start working on the place, but I've got a hell of alot of packing to do and rubbish to get rid of (2 skip fulls in the loft I reckon). Being a first time buyer I really don't have a clue about how the whole process works other than I know I have to find a solicitor tomorrow. Is there anyone who can give me a quick run through of the steps now involved. There is no chain from either side so hopefully it should be relatively straight forward?

My vote for the Ducati evens it out at 50/50 I see, I hope you have found this poll useful . I've got an SV650 with a twin engine and I love it. Hard to get used to at first I thought, but so much fun with the torque it has. Engine braking on it still catches me out sometimes though.

I think it works out at 4.5 times our joint salary. A free independant advisor pointed me in their direction. The interest rate is terrible due to only having 10% deposit. With 25% deposit you can get 4% fixed rate, if not better. Unfortunately i'm looking to spend around 160k and can't scrape 40k together for the deposit.

Check out Cheltenham and gloucester. I got a mortgage offer last week of 187k with 10% deposit. Interest rate was 6.1% fixed for 5 years. They were also offering 2yrs fixed at 5.69%. Biggest problem i'm having at the moment is finding a house I like. Every time I contact estate agents for a viewing they tell me the house is sold, even though it has only been on the website for one day. I'm convinced they are leaving all sold houses on the websites so that it looks like they have a lot of stock to sell or so that they have plenty of advertising on rightmove/property finder etc.
