Neil it doesn't matter what time you run, each time bracket is seperate. If you run 15's you run against other 15's, the quickest 15 ie 15.001 wins the time bracket. I normaly run in the 11's, running mid/high 11's means its hard for me to win my bracket unless not many low 11 car turn up ;-) Has most cars are always trying to run quicker times the low 11's sometimes run high 10's which moves them out of the 11 bracket. When i've run 12 there is normaly quiet alot of competitions, i ran a 12.05 and finished 2nd at one event, a 12.02 won :-) Sounds complicated but its easy really, turn up and run you times, try different things and see if you can get constant times, when you then make any upgrades you should see better times. This is what draws me to drag racing, push the car and trying to do perfect runs, time after time. Very difficult to do and a bit of a challenge.

Hi all As some of you know i've been running my car in the Pro Drag Street Series for a few years, i thought i'd do a new thread for the 2012 series. Over the winter there has been some discussions and some minor rules changes, these being, tyres are anything you want, passenger seat can be removed and points will be issued for attendance and fastest ET within each time bracket. This should eliminate any equal positions. Location: Stratford-Upon-Avon at Shakespear County Raceway Pro Street Drag Series Rules 2012 1. Entrants running in the Street Class can now benefit from the flexibility the Pro Class cars had. The rules for ANY road production cars attending the PSDS are now as follows. 2. ALL drivers MUST wear a crash helmet (A requirement of the raceway as for 2010 and now 2011). Cars running over 130 mph drivers will need a race suit, neck brace and full racing harness. 3. All cars must have a valid MOT (Proof may be asked for if there is doubt to whether the car is Street legal!). 4. If, on the off chance a car runs 9.30 seconds or better, they will fall into a separate 9.30+ Super Bracket, and points will be awarded as per the existing time brackets. 5. Roll bars are mandatory for vehicles capable of running 10.00 seconds or quicker, or over 130 mph. Roll bars are recommended for vehicles capable of running 11.00 seconds or quicker. For any open top cars competing, roll bars are mandatory for cars running 13.00 seconds or quicker. All roll bars must be fitted with adequate padding in the area around the drivers head. Arm restraints required in open top cars if running with the roof down. 6. Cars can remove one headlight to help get air into the engine bay. 7. Cars must have their OEM [Original Equipment Manufacture] working dashboard. 8. Cars exhaust systems must exit at the same area as the OEM vehicle. 9. Cars can also have the passenger and rear seats removed. Seats can be changed for aftermarket items like Sparco or Bride etc. 10. Fuel - Anything goes including NOS nitrous Oxide injection. 11. Tyres - Cars must run on radial tyres. Crossplys or Wrinkle wall tyres of any type are allowed. Drag Radials are fine so long as they are treaded and D.O.T stamped, and have a min of 1.6mm when you leave the strip. (If you are driving to and from the raceway PLEASE remember to use road legal tyres for the trip!). 12. No Tubular chassis cars. 13. Every car will be checked on the day by the raceways scrutineering team to make sure that the cars are safe before they get to run. No one is exempt. At all 5 rounds a registration fee is required at signing on. All monies will be entered into an end of event prize fund to the day’s overall winner or class winners (this will be dependant on class entries). The registration fee is not mandatory. Only contributing drivers will be eligible for the prize payout – You have to be in it to win it! As you have just read this is a very simple set of rules to follow! So enjoy your day and enjoy your car. Have fun and stay safe. PSDS round dates for 2012 are as follows: Sat March 31st/Sun April 1st - PSDS Test & Tune (Non points) Rd 1 Sunday April 22nd - Public Track Day Rd 2 Sunday June 10th - Public Track Day Rd 3 Sunday July 22nd - Public Track Day/Ladies That Launch Rd 4 Sunday Oct 14th - PPC magazine Public Track Day Rd 5 Oct 28th - Halloween Bonfire Burn-Up Public Track Day *Saturday's will be the usual test days except for round 1 as Saturday is an All Vauxhall Club Day You can become part of this series very easily, please look at the web site for details http://prostreetdragseriesuk.freeforums.org/index.php Cheers GazB

Brian James A Max Its a good flat bed, low as bed sits at wheel hub height, extra long ramps so loading and unloading isn't an issue. No side bars on the bed to make strapping down a problem. Give them a call and take the car over they will be able to sort the easiest for you, i brought new as it was needed in an hurry and couldn't find anything that was right for the job second hand. With new straps, winch, security bar etc it wasn't cheap but i'm well pleased with it and it would sell easily enough if i didn't need it.

Next years projects Just brought another house with double garage (supra's bed and workshop) and lots of parking space (motorhome and trailer easily accessed, plus the other 5 vehicles including my new winter toy, SWB Pajero) but also lots to do inside and out to keep the mrs sweet. After the busiest 3 months my company has had in the last 3 years i've just got a 12mth contract that starts 3rd Jan :-) So a new clutch and back playing soon in the soop, got a new set of MT's to try out with Ryans last tune up so lets see what times i can do in 2012. Nearlly forgot, also got my daughter wedding in June, so 2012 is going to be the year of spending i'm thinking

Exactly why I didn't bother with HKS series to much to do for 'fun' runs, I decided doing the Pro Street Drag Series at Shakey was far more relaxed. I did fit a trans blanket when the prop hoop was done along with the roll bar and 5 point SFI harness. All this because after seeing a few 'miss apps' I realised I’d feel safer if these safety factors were in place Looking at drag racing as an only hobby I’d probablyy go V8 old school yank so nothing t serious for the soop for me and no chasing times,I’lll pleasedI’vee run into mid 11's and would like a 10 but no rush for me. What ever way you go with the car its got to be what 'you' want, you are naturally a good driver so good luck what ever you do -
Great job, the car now looks very nice

Great video and great season you've had Stu, lets hope for better next year. Good luck mate

My mrs hates my car, she doesn't want to go in it, she worries when i'm out in it but she wouldn't want me to sell it! I know this for a fact because we are looking at buying another property and my car also needs a new clutch!! The 2k clutch money would pay for some work on the new house, but a car with no clutch isn't much use 'as she pointed out to me'. The main reason we have been looking for a new property is space, at the moment we spend hours each week suffling vehicles around. At the new place i've got loads of room even for the motorhome and trailer to be parked together ready for race weekends, along with a nice double garage for the supra to sleep in

Dom organises cruise nights in chesterfield and runs to different places, i'm sure any notts lads can tag onto the meets, i've been to a few and its always a decent turn out. We took about 15 cars upto the tyne tunnel run last october, a great convoy run up there in the rain even if it was a little slow for my liking but perhaps a good thing when we hit standing water on the A1 at about 70mph We've also been to the MFN as a group and i know they did a visit to Hooters one afternoon in Notts

Im going to break the drag car up for spares. Advert soon !!!
GazB replied to dude's topic in Supra Chat
Good buy mate, i look forward to seeing you run in this car. -
York is a bit more old school than pod, i've been there and lined up to run in a morning and been told 'be carefull tracks still a bit wet from last nights rain, we need more FWD cars to run and help it dry' And he wasn't kidding i let off the gas pedal when wheels were spinning in 3rd gear and rolled gently down to the run off road, parked up and waited untill track was fully dry before running again
-
It must have been a special built if it was doing 130 at the 1/4, i would have thought safety equipment were fitted, but things break and sh*t happens sometimes. I've seen a few accidents and upto yet everybody has walked away ok, sometimes its hard to believe anybody gets out without much wrong with them when the car is wrecked. I didn't do many 1/4 mile runs in my supra before safety eqipment was fitted, i know motorsport is dangerous but self preservation is high up on my priorites while doing it, but not everybody thinks this way, especially the younger guys/lasses who think they are invincible along with costs of installing these safety features.
-
Perhaps something broke causing it to roll then set on fire or a tyre burst, lots of things that can go wrong hence having your car fitted with safety equipment like roll cages, harnesses etc
