thanks for the comments, it's getting some fat tyres on the back for 2018 so i'll be doing some arch work, either bolt on fenders or it would have been nice if I was closer to someone like Huxley motorsport or sr autobodies to have a set of custom wide arches made up
-
thanks, yeah they sound a bit far gone, I'd easily take them and try though haha, the black one I have I guessi just got lucky that it wasn't rotten, nothing like a gamble haha

Aristo Wiring Loom Turbo Conversion Into MKIV Supra Thread
jonny mac replied to jonny mac's topic in mkiv Technical
I've been quite busy and nearly finished my loom, I still have a few queries about a few of the sensors and so on but i'll post up as I get on with it GOING FROM N/A MKIV PREFACELIFT MANUAL SUPRA TO AUTOMATIC ARISTO VVTI TWIN TURBO ENGINE the begining: aristo loom is fully concealed in the aristo engine bay the supra loom starts in the engine bay and finishes inside the cabin the idea: take my original n/a supra manual engine ecu loom and splice into it removing the running gear of the n/a and retain everything else whilst mixing in aristo ecu and engine loom the work done: so this is currently untested and I need to get the measurements but I basically lay out the supra n/a loom on the floor and cut out the following: all engine sensors/coil/n/a ecu loom basically kept the two body plugs from jza80 chassis leaving me with: orange body plug grey body plug gearbox loom alternator plug power steering plug aircon plug oil level sensor plug oil pressure plug two fuse box plugs (important) coolant temp sensor for dash take the aristo loom and open it up, the body plugs on the aristo ecu loom need to be opened up and have certain wires removed/some kept these are the ones I kept: 3 - Aristo Body Plug by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 2 - Aristo Body Plug by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr the other plug was cut out and I also removed the diagnostic connector+auto box loom as it was all unnecessary for my build I then started at the ecu, I extended every single wire one by one through my bulkhead grommet keeping the stock n/a ecu connector there for length setting to make sure my ecu would still sit in the right location on my car as I went through the ecu I'd kept note of which wires I'd needed to cut into and had them labelled up 1 - Aristo Ecu by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr then joined them accordingly into the correct pin locations on the jza80 bodyplugs so the jza80 orange and grey plugs would act the same as the original aristo white body connectors input/outputs would have done 5 - jza80 body plug by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 4 - jza80 body plug by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr currently I'm still looking into the sp1 wire as it has nowhere to go on my ecu as it only received sp2+ and sp2- from the autobox so the signal's would be different, also I don't know if the last plug requires the key inserted in ignition to activate something inside the ecu, currently I used the trigger wire for the original coil on the n/a to power up the injectors and coil packs for the vvti tt engine -
some of you may fancy a look at my other project car I've recently 'finished' back in august after many years http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?346240-1-5JZ-Forged-S14-Silvia&p=4250155#post4250155 forgot to upload this pic of my r154, it is from a jzx100 so had remote shifter which fits the mkiv perfectly 129 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr alternator quickly tidied up 130 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr new bel housing going on from toyota 131 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 132 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr dash coolant temp sensor new from toyota 133 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr air con bracket and alternator on the engine now 134 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr found a dipstick that'll work from another rear sump, also put in the level sensor it has been painted and tidied up also 135 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr solid shifter bushes for the r154 tripod 136 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr also tidied up the r154 box with some paint before it's put on the engine 137 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr took advantage of the black friday deals and saved £20 on a decat pipe from garagewhifbitz

i'd bought other parts from this company also which turned out to have issues i was told i'd marked the block with a screw driver and it's my own fault.....yeah so basically i had to start from the begining minus the money i'd paid so far i'm not to mention his name as i'd not like to be done for slander for making damaging accusations but i guess you just learn who not to deal with in the motorsport trade! thankfully i didn't use the engine as it would have burned oil and all sorts so.....cut to a few months down the line, i had no money and a half built car after selling my 1j+r154 setup and piling all the money into the parts for the new build i got in contact with DY engine services, dave yandell, he suggested oversizing my block which means new pistons and rods again and another set of bearings+arp studs etc i just went with it and put it on my credit card because i had to! otherwise i'd have an expensive useless tin on wheels dave worked his magic, block hot tanked and painted, .5mm oversized so bores were like brand new 106 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 107 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 108 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 109 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 110 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 111 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr so now i spent a little while saving and paying off stuff etc, then moved onto turbo choice, fast spooling over lag gtx3582r, t3 divided .83 housing, 4" intake, 2.5 intercooler out 112 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr link g4 113 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr

Hey guys, so this is now a new shortened version of my build thread after photobucket took a dump on everybody by changing it's hosting rights shared this on a few different forums but thought I might aswell throw it on the supra forum since it's a jz place so here goes, lets wind the clock back 4-5 years at the begining of basically a nut and bolt rebuild haha my bone stock s14 silvia sr20de n/a import from japan 1 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr mint 2 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr crap 3 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 5 stud swap, wheels and cs2 coilovers 4 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 5 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr rolling road for a baseline to know how much a jz engine could change the car 6 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 126bhp at the wheels, pretty sure a yaris has more 7 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr some work equips i didn't keep for long as the offset wasn't right 8 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr - - - Updated - - - drift day with the n/a to see what it's like, 3rd gear is possible with enough pressure in the back tyres and lots of throttle 9 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 10 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 11 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr then up at a local small track 12 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr new exhaust 13 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr bought an r154 gearbox from phil at driftworks from the r32 14 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr got a 4.3 r32 skyline diff and had it welded 15 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr r33 shafts 16 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr r200 s14 turbo rear subframe as my car had the r180 diff and frame so wasn't any use, had it powedercoatd and solid dw bushes installed 17 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr bought a 1j 18 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr stripped box for shifter extension 19 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr clutch arrived 20 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr

just read through this, fantastic work! I'd love to do the same eventually to my supra myself once we shift house and get a unit with storage space as it takes up so much floor space when you have subframes/diffs/gearboxes etc laying around, it's not easy in a single garage haha really liking the attention to detail, kudos to you for oem parts and clean points! the v160 rebuild looks fantastic

will be updating this soon with more pics of what's going on, decided to remove the ac rad from car and pump from engine, never use ac myself and the rad was not in the best condition anyway here's my to do list: finish wiring oil level sensor gasket + refit into sump dipstick new o ring plus refit into sump sandwich plate gauge senders to fit then bolt to engine remove engine stand and lay engine onto a tyre for fitting gearbox rear main seal flywheel clutch+gearbox onto engine attach loom to engine before fitting to car go over every vacuum line again and jubilee clips for water pipes fit alternator fit aux belt fit coolant temp sensor for dash on supra my whifbitz 3" 2nd decat arrived, I also have now got to make a custom front decat as the aristo one doesn't look like it'll work due to the flange and angles being different to the supra mkiv system I've also been looking at intercooler pipework and because the aristo twin's come out at a different angle it's looking like a custom top pipe will be needed also getting there slowly but the weather sucks and I have very limited time just now due to busy family life!

for sale TB Developments TT Decat Pipes.
jonny mac replied to TBDevelopments's topic in Parts for Sale
hi, interested in a pair of decats for my car, it was however an n/a supra so I was told the catback system is a different length to a turbo? also I'm looking to find out if your vvti 1st decat will fit the bottom of an aristo tt vvti 3 bolt flange outlet? -
not had alot of spare time recently, made a good dent into the wiring loom job however extended every wire on the aristo ecu plugs through my mkiv n/a loom bullkhead grommit down to match ecu mounting position 123 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr serious amount of soldering done, heatshrink used on every join and also taped over the top for extra protection here's a clearer picture of what's going on with the wiring now and where i'm up to top left section is the vvti turbo aristo engine loom plugs top right is mkiv n/a alternator, coolant temp dash sensor, starter solenoid, p/s switch, fuse box plugs and a few others required for the chassis bottom left is all extended aristo ecu plugs with supra wires waiting to be joined in for ecu power, +b, mrel, power to coils and injectors, igsw, crank wire, rpm output etc bottom right is mkiv body plugs so the orange and grey dash plugs giving various inputs/outputs required so i need another evening's soldering and loom wrapping then hopefully it'll work fine, used the one main feed wire that was there originally for coils and injectors form the n/a and joined it into the coils/inj on the vvti loom as i figured my car already has a relay to switch those on, my s14 had one relay doing both coils and injectors and worked fine so should be ok in this worst case is i just split the two main red power feeds and add 2 new 30amp relays to them 124 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr mk3 supra r154 front propshaft pieced together with the mkiv bearing carrier and flange for propshaft ready to go! 125 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr w58 is sold and posted arp flywheel 4ag corolla bolts arrived 126 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr rear main seal 127 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr rear spats arrived 128 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr

looking for a TT cooling fan and viscous coupling for my twin turbo vvti conversion I have one from a n/a sitting spare but I believe they are smaller and also will hit the top cooling pipe?
