  1. You can do it... you can do it all night loong!
  2. Wow really didn't think this would still be going!!
  3. I learnt my lesson the first time, did mine on axel stands and ended up pinned with the gearbox on my leg. Gets very heavy if it doesn't go right the first time!! You must be stalking the post man by now isn't your whifbitz kit on its way? I'm Saving up for his manifold!
  4. So managed to get it in the garage today and he thinks it's the clutch? I went in to bleed the brakes up properly so only spent 5mins checking the noise out but it's not a wheel bearing noise! It was my first clutch install so I'm hoping its something silly that I should have done? Here's things I now know I should have done.. 1/ Use the correct grease not multi purpose bearing grease 2/ grease the clutch fork which I didn't 3/ replace the spigot bearing (in my defense the one in looked ok) 4/ on the fidanza flywheel the contact surface is replaceable and should have been changed! Looks like the gearbox is coming off again
  5. Mines like a caliper seized on the brake disc noise.. But Iv just refurb'd all four to find it wasn't the cause! What clutch are you going for? I chose the wrong clutch and it's now on its limit at 370ftlb
  6. Sorry I should have been more clear, the clutch has only done 500miles. a couple of things worth mentioning when I fitted it.. The fidenza flywheel I didn't replace the insert which I probably should have, I used multi purpose bearing grease on the splines and release bearing but not on the clutch fork as Iv now read I should have done! Plus should have used white lithium grease? I only here it screech when pulling away in 1st gear?
  7. Hey pal did you get this sorted? I'm getting the same noise with my spec 3 clutch! Hmmm looks like I made the same mistake could this be what's causing the awful screeching noise? And is there away I could grease it up without removing the gearbox??
  8. +2 for pulling the engine mate its a lot easier! I tried drilling and tapping in situ and ballsed it up, it was my first attempt at removing an engine, i just took loads of pictures that way I couldn't go wrong when it went back in! Have a read of this thread it helped me out loads! http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?136136-NA-to-TT-engine-transplant-step-by-step-guide-(Pic-heavy) plus you can fit your clutch at the same time!
  9. Think Steve is waiting until we beat last years Xmas give away 2199 posts? That or we are being punk'd and chris isn't giving away jack!!!
